I have 2022 EN DCT 75K miles and its my daily driver. Not a single problem
22 Kona N 65k miles no issues at all either there is another guy with one with 130k no issues at all makes me happy
@@DriverJ-N it's mainly the haters and people still thinking these modern Hyundai are still terrible. Truth is they really aint
That's awesome and that's great to know I just bought a 2025 in DCT performance blue. I use launch control a few times before 600 me cuz I couldn't take it hopefully my engine will last as long as yours
DCT transmission is the fastest one 😅😅😅
man 2 weeks until I get my cyber grey 24
Only 15- 16psi.. its not octane learned.
After octane learned its usually around 17-19psi.
Makes a sufficient difference.
My 2024 Hyundai Elantra N with the DCT easily and daily gets mid to high 30s Mpg fuel economy in ECO mode.
Fantastic car for the money.
Fun and economical in every way.
came from a 2021 Veloster N, that thing was like a Go-Kart on steroids. Sold it in April for a bmw M240i.. still miss the lil go kart sometimes.
Why do u miss it? What did it have that the bmw doesn’t?
@@DriverJ-N The BMW is fun and all, but Hyundai's N cars are like little playful rascals, they have a personality, they want to be thrown around corners. BMW is still fun though, it just doesn't quite have the same personality
@@DriverJ-NN cars are like BMW M cars from 25 years ago.
@dominicg2456 but it definitely sounds like you are an Albert beirmann fan! Why can't they have hyundai N x BMW m instead of Toyota? Because then it's honoring Mister biermann. It's interesting that there isn't any car clubs or shows that have a crossover of these 2. Also gotta love the "bubble butt" of the veloster, which adds onto the personality of the car (and the 3 doors? No, velo owners would get sick of the 3 door jokes)
I test drove that same model... I told my buddy "it was like a go-kart" lol so funny. I bought a GTI for the functional 4 doors and interior was nicer.... but Veloster was a fun drive.
This is by far the best introduction of any Elantra N video I’ve viewed!
I think the sheet metal on the sides is nicely done. But the rear end is far too busy for my tastes. Great video as always, Marcus
The biggest thing with the Type R/Type S is they are "Weight Bullies" in which they cost way more than most the segment and are the best in the segment hand down. But compare them with stuff in the price range like 2SS 1LE, Mach 1, M240i, M340i, 8V RS3, F8X M2, M3, M4, CT4V Blackwing.... Do I keep going? Reviews love to compare these cars when the N is 10K+ down in MSRP it makes me question why people do. Cause ive seen comparisons of FL5 vs the aforementioned options and man does the propositon really fall apart in all cases except the 8V RS3 cause that car does handle like the others.
Elantra N-Line would be the answer to Civic Si. Elantra N is more of an answer to Type R, WRX, Maybe GTI.
I love the way this car looks
Same! Very aggressive
I think it looks hideous compared to a FL 5 Type R, GTI/Golf R or GR Corolla but that's just my opinion.
@Unicornpirate I love the look personally. But I find the type r, especially the back, over the top and the 3 exhaust pipes in the middle looks silly (the veloster called, it wants it's middle exhaust pipes back)
I noticed the hood panel gaps on my car as well, from the side it looks like a sort of vent for engine heat. Maybe bad build quality but it’s the same on each side and seems functional.
no way that is designed to be functional nor would it even be functional lol
@ according to the engineers it is 🤷🏻♂️
Manual 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Are the seats ventilated
2 door one would look like Kitt 😅
What would the Hoff think??
This is way more fun than the type R to drive
No
@@Unicornpirate that's your opinion many others would disagree including the Topher who owns one. The type R has almost no theatre. As a daily is boring as fuck
@@mharro88 That's a first I've heard. Its pretty much a FWD version of a Porsche GT3 from what people like the Topher have said
@@Unicornpirate watch his comparison vid
@@Unicornpirate lol comparing a Honda civic to a Porsche 🤣
Can we please stop comparing this car to anything that costs 7-12k more...much less 20k more. Integra Type S??? Really?!?!
i mean isnt that a testament to how good the Elantra N actually is? why think of it as a negative thing, think of it as a positive
Why people keep comparing this car to the boring Honda Civic SI ? There's no comparison here ! With the Honda Civic Type R thats ok !
The Elantra N is much closer in price to an SI than a Type-R. Both manual, 5-seat, and FWD. It fits perfectly in between those two cars, at least from my perspective. In price and performance.
Just price tho. On paper theyre very far off from one another. Horsepower, tech packaging, engine size...only similarites are the ones you mentioned above. @RoadsUntraveled
I had a 2023 for a year and it was way more car than the SI and nearly the car the Type R is for way less money. The brand lacks prestige and heritage, but has great value and good performance.
So why did you get rid of it
@@panglingaow I bought a 2024 Mustang GT Premium and it would have been a lot to keep both so I traded it in. I needed the trade in value so I can afford to spend another 20k on suspension, wheels, and a whipple kit.
@@jessicaphoenix1312 that's funny I traded in my 2024 EcoBoost premium
@@panglingaow Welcome to coyote V8 heaven!
@jessicaphoenix1312 no I traded in my 24 EcoBoost for the Elantra N. 24 Ecoboost is much faster sad to say
Keep in mine the 6spd variant for the US spec. Doesn't have an sunroof option.
Better not to have one.
@@selimpullu420 agree^^
I didn't know the MT came with a sunroof. Thought it was limited to the DCT for some reason
It does in the Canadian market, in the U.S it is limited to the DCT. The region-specific features are confusing to be honest. For instance some countries get vents on the rear console, some don't.
Ultimate sleeper. Hyundai is better than ever before.
I'd say Honda is keeping manuals alive. Civic Si & Type R are manuals only! Always have been. Only wish they still offered manuals on the Accord, too. TBH everyone of their 4cyl models should offer the stick! Makes driving the 4cyl way more fun
I wish Honda would bring back a V6 and 6MT accord
이쯤되면 아반떼 N 해치백 버전도 만들어줄 만도 한데...
Btw you weren’t octane learned on that pull, it can go up to 20psi which makes a big difference
😂
It's tough with press cars. They get driven by 30+ different people and if the minimum octane rating is 87, that's what most people are putting in.
@@van_der_lindeDA I see the type R in your profile picture so I already know the N is hard to stomach for ya 🤣
@@van_der_lindeDAjust say you love the N since you comment on ever video but have the better car
@f8widescat392 oh dammit I should have bought a Hyundai 🤣 I'm not sure what's more ugly, the EN or that colour of that car on your Profile pic.
I wish they give us more horse power at least 300 hp
Trust me it’s plenty hp. Ur kinda just being spoiled then.
All it takes is a tune and spark plugs and I had mine at 371 bhp. Nearly 100 horse from a tune and plugs on 93 octane! These cars are leaving a lot on the table with the factory tune.
It is 284 horsepower at the wheels that means it is over 300hp easily. RUclips stock Elantra N dyno....they sand bagged it
@@panglingaow Mine was about 240 whp and I got to 320 with a Lap 4 stage 1.5 tune. plugs, and 93 octane.
@jessicaphoenix1312 very nice brother. Im lap3 stagex and im 400whp or so with meth
UNPOPULAR opinion.. I definitely prefer the pre-facelift look but i can’t be the only one right?
Isn't that the i20n that is keeping manuals alive since it only comes in manual??
Bro you were stressing the engine when it was cold 😫😫😭😭
8 speed DCT >
My DCT isn't a problem at all, it has more HP and faster speed, than you manual. I purchase my Elantra N to take to the track, not for the streets so 16 year girls and look at it.
Both options are good, manual is more fun and engaging than the DCT for me.
Thats actually not true. Manual makes more power bc the dct robs the engine of 10 percent of power.
It doesn’t have radar cruise control because it’s a manual transmission. The DCT has adaptive cruise. Not sure of any car with a manual transmission that also has adaptive cruise, it would somehow have to downshift or upshift automatically? Hard to do with a stick
The Civic SI and Type-R 6-speeds both have adaptive cruise control. I believe the last manual Mazda 3 I drove also had it. The vehicle allows you to shift without disabling cruise control.
The DCT does NOT have adaptive cruise control.
@@MyOpinionMatterss ah I was mistaken then.
@@RoadsUntraveled good to know, I was mistaken. Thanks!
If the back of the car is not that ugly af🙄
It's one you don't look back at when you park. That giant crease like you got in an accident.
Same like your face in my opinion the front is better than Bmw beaver grills
⬆️ 😂
@@faunastation5147 Ha ha. My wife just got an M4 convertible and I have to say the grille looks aggressive as hell coming at you and the hood and other things just flow with it all. I hate the grille on other models of the 4 series though because it has sparkles and chrome bits that make it look bad.
Looks really cool actually
The creases are straight so idk where u get car accident from. And u do look back at it. It’s all preference and people hate on this car.
Everything looks good until comparing reliability. I would pick SI and type R over N any day. Sure you save 10k on the paper but in the long run it will probably costs you more.
Where would it cost more? These cars have amazing reliabillity.
NGL compared to a Type R, Golf R or GR Corolla, this looks hideous
Thats your opinion and youre allowed to have it. Too bad people love these cars more and they outperform in every class for less money.
@noahpike8274 fl5 is still the quicker track car. Fl5 is quicker manual for manual in a straight line.
@@davothegreat9990 Not really. I watched TH and the FL5 put down faster lap times. Even Geese here compared the DCT N to the FL5 and that was faster around Autobhan County Club
@@Unicornpirate that's what I said in my first sentence. What are you reading?
@@davothegreat9990 My bad thought you said the N was faster.
Dont these have a terrible reliability reputation?
No just a bunch of honda fan boys hating
@@Jcastro9444 well Hyundai has at least one turbo four engine with a high failure rate.
@morstyrannis1951 every car manufacturer has an engine that's not thay good
@@Jcastro9444Hyundai’s engine problems are so wide spread they’re in the news. I was in the service area of a Hyundai dealer in Langley. They had 4-6 engine blocks sitting on the shop floor. I’ve been to a lot of dealerships over decades and have never seen long blocks sitting on the floor.
@morstyrannis1951 so are fords , so are chevys, hondas etc. Don't know what your point is here
