  • How I mount my drone controller and smartphone to the handlebars of my Tenere 700 World Raid. is a question I get all the time. I have tried different solutions but never found the "perfect" setup for my use. But now it seams like I have finally found the hidden gem. The motorcycle phone mount from ‪@peakdesignvideo‬ is absolutely amazing and ticks of all my boxes.
If you are interested in a similar solution or just want a tip or two about how I have done it. Take a look at the video.
    Enjoy

That *click* when you place the item on the mount is so satisfying. I more than once take my phone off and put it back on again just to hear it haha! Great solution for the drone controller, I've looked at it too, but the universal adapter is just a tad too big for placing it on a usable spot on my RC without blocking the vent or control sticks. Now looking at another solution for on my Mosko tankbag, velcro something

Like you I repurposed an old bicycle quad lock mount for using my drone. I also hate the faff trying to get the controller seated on the mount. But one thing to be careful off is the drone controller joysticks 🕹... On one ride I noticed they had worked themselves loose. Probably due to the bike & road vibrations.. I was lucky I stopped when I did or I would have lost a stick...

Great vid Thomas! Nicely done, that goes for the filming and the mount itself. Always questioning myself if I should get something like that or is it just another thing to worry about while riding? I don’t know. Another idea… much simpler though; what if you put velcro on top of the tankbag and controller? That way the controller has its shock absorber through the bag? Anyways, keep them coming👍😃 greetz.

Yeah, I think we all get lured to belive that quad lock is the shit. • @tshansen

Glad you liked it mate. I don’t think this bar mount fits, the diameter is just to big, but you could probably find something to add so it will be more bulky just to fit the mount. On the trip, I did a good deal of offroad riding, and I could be concerned if the magnet can keep the remote in place when it gets really bumpy? It is not magnetic alone, it has a locking feature as well in the center. So it locks in and find it position with magnets, but it lock in with to sides in the center square. I have really tried to shake that loose, and trow it back on fourth... it's not coming loose without you pressing in one of the release buttons.

For me, the Nomax tank bag is the best one I have come across. But my needs are based on camera gear and equipment I store for that particular reason. Whit this, and the two layers it is much easier to fit more and organise it better. There is just no other tank bag I have found that gives so much in such a small package. For me there is not many other alternatives, so I'm not sure if I just accept it for what it is and make the best of it, or I'm really happy because there is no other tank bag that sit so good on the bike. Easy to clip on and off for fuel. Not in the way when stand up riding. It is just great. Do you have any specific questions or just general? Cheers

@@tshansen Thanks Thomas , it was mainly about how the bag feels on this particular bike . I ised to have a nomax tank bag on my 1200 gsa . I sold both . Now i have a world raid and so far am running a lone rider tail bag but am missing a tank bag . I am contemplating either buying a mosko moto nomax again or the smaller gnome . Just. Not sire how it would fit on the very unusual tank of the world raid .

@@philippegosseau Well, it follows the end or front of the seat more than it sits on top of the tank when I study pictures I have taken of it. If the smaller one fits your needs when it comes to size, maybe ask online if anyone have good pictures of it so you can compare?

Takk! 👏🏻

Won't the magnet interfere with the compass on the phone, giving a false reading. Go out somewhere and try a return to home and see if compass is affected by the magnet.

That is a damn good question, but correct me if i’m wrong, does the drone use the phone compass for that? From what i understand it is the compass in the drone, like if my phone shut down, or loose connection to the drone it start to fly home to the point it took off! If i take off from a place, move 100m with my controller, the drone returns to the first point unless i set it with my controller?

@@tshansen The magnet will interfere with the phones compass, so if you use the phone to program your drone, you might have problems, check it out. It happened to me flying my Spark and Air.

It's funny, i came to the same solution by myself with a square form and a magnet. I made it myself with my 3D printer.

Why mount your drone controller to your handlebar ?

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  Год назад +1

Because it makes the workflow much faster and you can launch and land you drone without even get of the bike.
