@@BullmanBuiltRC I'd appreciate it if you did make a video on it. I recently purchased some solid rod high clearance links, that are drilled and tapped. There are 3 marks on them where they were bent, maybe a small tubing bender?
When you cut the all thread do you have to grind the tip down to get the rod ends to start . I used to do sewer and water & would have to all thread the bottom 90 coming up into building from under foundation to reducer for main line in & have to grind tip for nut to start on threads
I’m sure it would help regardless but it depends on what you cut it with. If I cut it with my angle grinder and a cutoff wheel I usually don’t have to. If I use bolt cutters to cut it I definitely have to grind the ends.
@@BullmanBuiltRC thanks for answering back on this I'm definitely looking forward to doing my own links & just curious about how it goes together the first video of yours that I ever watched was your wroncho build because I've been on the fence to do one out of my old ridge crest & I've been hooked to your channel since man thanks agian for all your time that you put into these videos
Nice work. I chase threads on the ends of brass round stock, I like the threaded rod approach.
I know this is old but i needed this for my Ridgerunner. Thanks man new sub!
Glad I could help! Thanks!
Thankyou for the clear and we'll presented video Bullman! Very useful info for us new builders.
I’m glad I could help!
Thanks for this video, going to the hardware store now
You’re welcome!
If you get the traxxas 5347 rod ends, you don’t get the weird shaped balls, but are a bit short rod end.
You’ve seen me drive. I like all that extra thread engagement. Lol
Have you made any "high clearance" bent links?
Not yet. I need to make some for a couple trucks though. I’m going to have to see how to measure for that and see if I can make a video on it.

Where did you buy the aluminum tubing?
All thread and tubing is from McMaster Carr
