Fun fact: 22:03 you would be considered an airbending master when you invented your own airbending move (for aang it was the airscooter) the air wheel tenzin makes is his own signature move
There is actually 36 forms of airbending to master before the tatts; Aang mastered 35 and then invented the air scooter. Inventing a new form and mastering 35 others is also a way to become a master and get tattoos. Those are the only 2 ways to become a master airbender.
@@AssassinRyuu owww fr fr? Didn't know that! I’m just responding to the Azula theory in the beginning Thats it’s not impossible that Azula had non-bender kids. Everyone in the avatar universe bender or not can have non-bender kids
i’m gonna be honest despite how much of an asshole he was, i liked tahno’s character a lot and i personally felt he could’ve been a nice addition as a side character that shows up once in a while. his personality isn’t too bad outside of the general cockiness that went to his head, and i feel like he and korra could’ve been good friends just based off their back and forth shit-talking and light hearted joking with each other like “see you around. ah-vatar.” i just feel like he had more potential idk
bolin is funny and kinda slow but i wouldn’t call him the “new sokka” he has similar characteristics and it’s clear that he’s supposed to be the comic relief dynamic of the group but he’s still his own character with his own story, he just happens to be silly and kinda dumb sometimes lol
Rewatching the serie I realised that the blue prints of Hiroshi machine appears at the end of the first episode of Korra, at the first aparition of Amon.
Hmm. An avatar character who rebels against their evil father using a lightning attack, and then leaves to join team avatar. Where have I heard this before~?
I dont think that guy deserved it. He wasnt a evil person. He was just a teenage bully. Its like taking away his ability to walk. And for what? Just for cheating?
Bolin, as comic relief and the most genuine character, is absolutely the replacement for the archetypal role which Sokka fulfilled. Good catch G Also y’all Mfers some of the most distrustful I swear lmao Just waiting for y’all to start doubting Tenzin too lol
I rather disagree. Sokka and Bolin are very different characters in many ways. Bolin is much more sweet then Sokka and Sokka is more intelligent. Their humor is also different, and so is their role within the group. If Anything Sokka and Asami are more alike when it comes to position in the group/intelligence. Both are older smarter non bender figures. Bolin's humor is also a very different brand. If compared to something mainstream Id say Sokka= Chandler Bolin= Joey. Both comic relief yes, but still very different. To be fair I feel all characters are original enough none of them feel like exact copies, and me linking Sokka with Asami most is a personal thing.
I love the legend of Korra so much man can't wait till y'all reach season 3 best season hands down and then season 4 season one and 2 is good to but they don't have anything on season 3 and four but love the show regardless
I just find it kinda of arrogant that Amon wants to get rid of "Benders" when their technology is from the Benders & non-Benders. from the very first time you saw Mako using his electricity on a power plant for a job... and for metal benders to bend for the types of metal they use for everyday use, from the car to lamps to almost everything metal/earth for homes, so the Amon & Equalists think this is a good thing to get rid of "Bending", the ignorance of them all to ignore their history of technology & progress. Both Bending & non-benders complement each other in peace & harmony, & that is why the Avatar exist to bring Balance to the world.
@@tieman3790 They do. In every nation but the Air Nomads (where there was no such thing as a non-bender) non-benders are the vast majority in both population and government. The Earth King is a non-bender. So are the chiefs and most inhabitants of both Water Tribes. Fire bending soldiers are common, but there are just as many, if not more, who just used spears and other weapons. Apart from the Royal Family of the Fire Nation, which is a very specific bloodline, few elites and advisors to the Fire Lord are shown fire bending. Azula's closest friends are non-benders, and so are Lo and Li (I think that's how they're names are spelled), her elderly advisors. The biggest problem is not that the government structures in this world are biased against non-benders, but that the people with superpowers make the majority feel threatened. Since there are some instances where individual benders have abused their power, Amon is able to characterize the entire minority group as dangerous and instill hatred of them. Bending citizens are just people and have the same rights and responsibilities as anyone else, but because they have more potential to wreak harm, Amon teaches his followers to focus on that, overlooking the fact that, as the original comment said, bending has ensured the survival and progress of the human race in this world from the distant past to the present day.
@@kpuda7722 the fire nation is ruled by a family of benders, Republic City is ruled by an unelected council of benders with a police force of metal benders supporting them, the Earth King/Queen's secret police are all benders (as are most of the Earth Kingdom's commanding generals), and compared to most non-benders, benders themselves are living weapons. Yes, benders are a minority, but they are unquestionably dangerous and have disproportionately taken positions of power and influence. This is an even more extreme case of what led to the Mutant Registration policies in Marvel's various properties. That said, being the majority does not make one well represented, or represented at all. In the real world you can look at apartheid era South Africa, or at how in the United States there are several policies that have popular support that our elected representatives refuse to pass. There's also the practice of Gerrymandering, which in the US is used to dilute or even eliminate representation for people that identify with certain political parties and/or ethnic groups.
@qawamity/Escef Possible spoilers: Aside from the military and a single royal family, most influential people in this world aren't benders. The richest people we've seen in both shows are mostly non-benders, as are most high-ranking government officials. Benders can be more dangerous weapons, but even in the military, non-benders can and have risen to leadership positions. Most soldiers and generals from both Water Tribes are non-benders, though benders are their strongest weapons. Bumi, who doesn't have bending, was once the general of the United Forces. When it comes to leadership in government, non-benders are well represented. The Earth King is supported by bending generals and an elite squad of benders, but he himself and his successors aren't benders. The chiefs in Water Tribes at one point (an inherited position for the north, an elected council for the south) were all non-benders. If that changes, it's simply because new leaders were elected that happened to be benders, or a bender happened to be the descendant of the previous leader. As the name suggests, Republic City is a republic. Perhaps there are rules that require a councilman from each nation, but even then, who that person will be is determined by the people. Aside from Tenzin, the non-benders would still have intentionally voted benders into power. Non-benders have the same rights as their superpowered counterparts, but because benders are stronger and could forcibly end those rights if they all decided to work in unison, some non-benders fear bending itself. Though benders are also their most important protectors, they have enough power to turn on them instead of help them (as some criminal gangs have already done), so they are considered untrustworthy.
I really enjoy watching these reactions. May I suggest another show? It’s called The Dragon Prince and one of the writers worked on The Last Airbender :) the main character is also voiced by Sokka’s voice actor.
If we have to compare new cast with old cast, I would say Korra= Toph (both hot headed/snarky and amazing benders who can get a bit cocky) Bolin=Aang (the biggest hearts of their respective groups with a doze of goofyness and no bad bone in their body. Asami= Sokka ( Crafty intelligent older non bender who carries the group outside of elemental stuff.) Mako= Katara (both the more serious sibling in a close sibling bond looking after the other one and a voice of reason yet also really stubborn at the same time depending the situation) Some people would say Mako =Zuko because both serious fire benders, but Zuko had some very different things going on for him as well with his own mental health issues/his temper issues/his family drama's etc. Or Bolin= Sokka because both be funny guys. But I feel them being funny is about the only thing they have in commen and it's a different kind of humor as well. Or Katara= Asami or even Korra= Sokka. In the end I feel all characters are unique enough no clear connections can be made. But if I had to say which one resembled which one most, the above picks would be mine. I'd also say Tenzin resembles his mother more then his father, personality wise. He's got her temperament.
