@Dimetri Drossos because head of GM Mary Barra has clamored for years that she wants Cadillac to compete with the likes of BMW. There is a reason why BMW, Benz, Audi and so use a OHC engines. There are a lot of good things about a pushrod like you stated but they have their short comings like any engine. I use to say the same thing until I actually got out and drove one and learned the advantages of a DOHC. The smooth linear pull of a DOHC is just amazing and feels so luxurious. GM knows it, that is why they are putting a DOHC in the new Z06 Corvette. But we all know that top brass at GM is trying to phase out all the v8 engines in cars and light trucks for EV's. Just like the BLACKWING V8 never made it, it would not surprise me if the Corvette DOHC never makes it.
Then we have FCA, "Shove a hellcat into everything". Lol, if they keep going down that route, they soon might just end up disappearing from the automotive industry...
@Dimetri Drossos Yes, I see where that could go, but times are slowly but surely changing, eventually Gas powered vehicles are going to be extinct. Eventually...
