Zero wanting to sit uncomfortably close to John and telling him "We would be pals" is way too accurate a portrayal of real life fanboys. That's why I love the character so much.

The two guys John fights at the end, right before he fights the main baddie, are from a couple of Indonesian movies called The Raid. Raid 2 might be my favorite action movie of all time. Definitely need a reaction to those 2 movies, top tier martial arts and a pretty good story to boot.
Also The Night Comes for Us is a must watch

Absolutely brilliant work in this by Halle Berry too. She not only trained with the firearms and fighting techniques as Keanu did, she also put a lot of time into the dog training. Apparently one of the biggest problems using dogs in this kind of action sequences is having them know whose voice to listen to. There is so much noise and yelling and speaking on set. She put in a lot of time working with them so they had the familiar voice to listen for. I think my MVP is Wick, 2nd MVPs are Halle and the animal trainers and animals. Both the training and use of the dogs and horses was pretty amazing. My worst was possibly the Adjudicator. Loved your reaction yet again Jen.
After seeing part 4 the other day, this is now my favorite action franchise of all time. Incredible reaction Jen, your disappearing act was amazing. 😱

At the end of the second movie Winston gave John a marker saying he would need it down the road, by the rules they live by he cannot kill John. That is why Sofia(Halle Berry's character) reminds us in this movie that you can shoot but not kill someone who holds one of your markers.
But why did Winston gave it to John? What did John do to earn that marker? Nothing? What good is a marker if nobody knows about it (e.g. the adjudicator)? If the high table wants John dead, isn't the marker that protect John obsolete, as they can simply void it?
@sophiamarchildon3998 also it isn't specified if Winston marked it or gave him a blank to use with someone else.

Easily my favorite of the franchise so far. The first fight sequence in the library Boban is so memorable. So excited for Chapter 4.

Experiments showed that, even though it slowed down reaction time, it created a disassociation so that a person felt less anxiety or fear and could act without doubt or hesitation. It feels kind of like playing a character in a video game where you control the character and see what's happening, but you're not personally afraid of getting hurt.

Funny how the *only* cop in the whole franchise is corrupted (by looking the other way after Wick killed 12 men in his house) but the dozens of assassins follow a super strict rules based on honor!
These movies are basically a big PVP game of GTA.
9:35 The Ruska Roma (aka Russian Gypsies) are an actual subculture (though they're not assassins) that goes back a little over three centuries when nomadic Romini people migrated to Russia (most are in Russia and Belarus now, but there are some in other countries including Canada). They gained popularity for doing musical performances at large celebrations and festivals, so having the movie's Ruska Roma run a ballet school might be a reference to that.

If you haven't seen this one, I'd highly Recommend the movie "Cradle 2 the Grave." Mark Dacascos vs. Jet Li!!
Mark Dacascos is unbelievably badass in the movie Drive, and in Brotherhood of the Wolf.
Also i would like to point out Mark Dacascos co starred with both Matrix actors Laurence Fishburn in this movie and Mark co starred with Carrie Ann Moss in the movie Sabotage

There was actually a deleted scene in the first movie where John Wick restores antique books. So, the odds are that he created that book himself.
6:25 This scene is a homage to a similar scene in "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly," and it makes a certain amount of sense. Revolvers of that era were made by low tech methods that couldn't consistently produce parts that all had exactly the same fit (and like a mechanical watch, proper function of a revolver depends on good fit and alignment of its moiving parts), so with these guns that were assembled just for display, not function, you would want to find the parts that fit and function together properly.
And I like to think the scene of John riding a horse in the city was a nod to a great cop series from the 70's titled McCloud :)
No human being has seen that knife in the eyeball scene without reacting at least once.
The pair of guys he fought near the end are both on the fight choreography team and have done some amazing movies themselves. Their fight was a show of mutual respect.

- I know I'm always wrong about these things, lol, but considering how many 'cameo's' from Keaunu's past movies we've seen so far, it would be cool if the high table was comprised of all the women who have already starred alongside Keaunu... like Sandra Bullock, Tilda Swinton, Rachel Weisz, Charlize Theron, Winona Ryder... and the head of the high table be his 'dead' wife. And as it turns out she only faked her death just to get 'the great' baba yaga back in the game again. He's faced with having to make a decision... kill her and be who he is, or let her live and keep the part of himself that he wanted to be and longed for.
Ian McShane and Anjelica Huston reprise their roles as Winston and the Director of the Ruska Roma in the spin off movie "Ballerina" starring Anna De Armas as a young assassin seeking retribution against the people who killed her family. It's currently in post production.
the 'fans' that let him live are actors from the 'the raid' movies. these movies inspired the action of john wick. which is why these two were invited to appear in JW3, and yes, its the characters saying pleased to meet you, john wick the legend, but also a nice kinda 4th wall break of them saying ty for the respect and the invitation. so those of us who had seen the raid movies, quite enjoyed this 'fanservice' moment, even if it kinda breaks immersion having them letting john live

and now you have seen Halle Berry who really had to train for this film, four days a week with the dogs doing drills in order to form a bond with them. She says, "Malinois are super smart and fiercely loyal but, at the same time, they like to play, which made it fun.". They look similar to Germ shepherds which I had one growin up. Oh- and when you get to the Pierce Brosnan Bond films you will see her rock a fun role in "Die another Day , WHAT a great appearance she has in her 1st scene too!

You gotta see chapter 4; better scenery, more action, better visuals, better shots. It’s the best movie in the series.
One of my favorite fight scenes in the whole series is the knife fight in this movie. John is so skilled and so accurate when throwing the knives.

This film explained a lot about where John Wick came from and how he trained.

The two shinobi who show John respect and whose lives he spares are played by Yaya Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman who are experts in the Indonesian martial art or silat. To see more of them and more silat (and machetes fihts, gun fights, and just a few explosions) you should watch "The Raid: Resemption" and "The Raid 2: Berandal" (berandal mean something like a thug or ruffian).

You should watch Keanu. It's a sort of John Wick spoof about a Keanu Reeves fan who instead of a dog has a cat, Keanu, that instead of being killed is kidnapped and has to be saved. It is really great.

I haven't seen this movie, and I hope to watch it someday, so I can't watch reactions to it. I don't want the plot spoiled. However, it's my understanding that liking, commenting, and watching the entire video is the best way to help with the algorithm. For Old School CIA "Wet Work Mechanics", It was standard procedure to deliver 2 shots to the chest, Followed by one to the head (in case they were wearing Armour). People have been known to Survive one or the other, but this combination Guaranteed "Success".
Winston's "Betrayal" was planned (That's why Cedric said "Well Played" and Winston was careful to choose his words after speaking to the Adjudicator about John "being Gone".
RIP to Lance Reddick ("Cedric Daniels") who passed recently.

If you notice when Winston shoots John, there is no kill shot. Winston knew John was wearing protection, and knew where to shoot him without killing him.
I don't think Winston betrayed John, he was protecting him from the High Table.
I think we will see several characters from this franchise that John didn't kill, come back in Chapter 4 to help John.
I think Francis (the door man in chapter 1)may return in Chapter 4 along with Halle and Winston.
The King and the bum as you called him will also return I think, all to help John Wick.
But this is just my guessing and hopeful thinking.
I hope so!!

The Thing about the Times We're Living in.... 20 years ago, Big Name Movies stayed in Theaters for Months before being released on DVD (or streaming, as it was new)...
But After COVID killed quite a few Theaters, Chances are you'll probably be watching this Sometime in June... Probably.

27:11 Underground societies like the Bowery and the Ruska Roma have their own ethical codes and customs and pride, and I think the way the High Table just spits on all that and demends that they violate their own beliefs in obedience to the Table could backfire.
