I kinda wanna go back to playing Maple but since I haven't played for over 10 years now.. just to think about what to do and all the systems this game has already makes me give up on that idea, wouldn't know where to begin
It is really not that hard anymore to progress, sad to say, especially not on reboot. If you're thinking of going into it i can help out with tips. This game is still very much worth your time, albeit in moderation.
I still can’t play maple story anymore because I was never really a fan of late game content. I always had the most fun getting a character up to 4th job (or third job pre big bang lol). Doing party quests, theme dungeons with stages that might require multiplayer if you’re not strong enough. Grinding the last few levels to a job advancement with the excitement of getting new skills - that’s what maple was all about for me. Now it’s just a game with a ton of basically useless early game content that you skip as you cruise to level 200, at which point you’re assigned chores that will make up the rest of your gameplay from now on, other than of course literal decades of grinding.
I play on the Reboot server and I feel like the 3k mob daily for sol fragments is contributing a lot to burnout. It is one of the most important dailies because of how predictably consistent progression feels, but it feels really grindy. It doesn't even line up with the mob requirements for Grandis dailies which I would say is 2k max (I am up to Shangri-la and maxed Cernium symbols and I am always choosing my most recent sacred symbol from selectors). It really takes its toll between bossing, leveling up mules, events, et cetera (monster park, high mountain). And mid-late game feels horrible when you save up lots of mesos and soul frags to not get anything during these rare discount/rate-ups. But that's just the nature of maple I guess.
it is a grindy game , thats literally what this game is all about. Nothing wrong with being a casual daily player but you can't complain you have to grind when the main aspect of the game is grinding ...
@@masterace1071 I never said it wasn't a grindy game. But the fact is with the addition of 6th job there is an unnecessary need to farm another 1k mob. If you want to for exp go ahead and train. I am only just pointing out a factor that can impact player satisfaction and retention that has already affected some like myself. And how does it impact you in any way if the requirement decreased down to 2k?
Tbh it gets easier the more sacred symbol areas you unlock. Killing 3k mobs in 1 area sucks but killing 1500 in one area and 500 in 3 other area makes it feel better
Releasing this one day after the 7 hour emergency maintenance is actually kinda funny. I like where the game is at, but GMS gotta clean it up on the maintenance end.
I’ve been wanting to get into maplestory but what is end game? Is there pvp? Every video I see from what I’ve searched just shows leveling/grinding as “the game” and nothing at max level unless I’m missing something
End-game changes very frequently which is good, since it means the game is alive and being updated regularly. There was PvP back in 2010/2012 or something like that, but not anymore
End game is about the bossing in maple story next to fashion story, at least in heroic world. In contrast to what people say, hands matter in maplestory end game bossing and there is a degree of skill expression in general
it is a grindy mmo , progression is the main goal. End game is all about party bossing, basically like raiding from other mmos (altho its only 6 man party).
@@rinreborn7364 clearly you know nothing about the game lol. You can't p2w in reboot(heroic) and that's the main server everyone plays and the only server anyone should play.
tl;dr - MSEA's director/board needs to push these needed aggressive changes without fear of Nexon Korea's retaliation. It's unlikely to happen given the mix of similar cultures between regions and the population which is smaller than GMS', but I do hope it happens. ----- Pretty much all the recent GMS changes have been pushed by its new director, a movement that could be seen by Nexon Korea as a direct confrontation against them, but likely backed up by GMS' decline over the last years and presented as a plan to keep the game going long term to their board to avoid retaliation from Korea. You can bet Inkwell's not in a good light at the moment back in Nexon Korea. For MSEA to improve, something similar would need to happen. My thoughts is that this is much less likely to happen for MSEA given the similarities in cultures between this region and Korea; they're more likely to bend to the latter's will rather than confront their point of view. I sure hope I'm proven wrong in the foreseable future though!
There is a reason for the 3rd rule of this channel's comment guidelines. If you're unhappy with current maplestory, read rule 3 of the comment section.
I know its a snowballs chance, but what I would give for an Old School server that only has the adventures and creates new content much like OSRS, it would be absolutely amazing.
So, as someone who hasn't played since they started adding 'Heroes' to the game (the last one released was Mercedes at that time)... What all has changed? Just hearing how you can get a character to 200 in about an hour or so is already leaving me flabbergasted.
I have an old friend who reminisces with me about Maple. She tells me how much she misses it all the time, but she hasn't played since around 2015. I told her that she should just hold onto those memories, throw on the soundtrack once in a while, and just pretend the game doesn't exist anymore. It's not the same Maple, and I'd posture that 75% of the changes are either bad (in the long run) or too weird. What's the point of Level 1-200 if you can blow past it in half a day. What's the point of all the skills from 1st to 3rd Job when (barring a handful of combo attacks that rely on them) they are overshadowed SO FAST by 4th+ job skills. (I remember quite often getting into 3rd job and still having to use skills for a bit from 2nd, to ease the gap. Same with 3rd to 4th.) What's the point of cool-looking weapons when most every attack from 4th Job on takes up half the screen or more. What's the point of having all the cute small sidequests that defined Maple as a game when stopping to do them actually *takes time away* from leveling, so nobody does them. So they never get love. What's the point of having areas full of beautiful pixel art when you're just teleporting directly to the next grinding zone. What's the point of PQs (at least the old-school ones) when they reward *worse* than basic gear you get from grinding monsters. What's. The. Point. Of. Mushroom Game. I miss Maple Story so much. But this is not that Maple Story. I'd kill for a "Maple Story Classic" server, Nexon. I'd pay a sub, even.
Nexon will never release a classic Maple server, they wouldn't even do it before Mapleland, now Mapleland is out, its hopeless. They would rather keep their current playerbase chained to this current version of Maplestory, a slot machine lobby game. Where the entire game revolves around swiping and gambling.
Great video coppersan. I’d love to see an account progression update from you. Is shade still your main? Or did you switch to kain? What are you plans to progress for your account? I hope you make a video discussing this!
I personally think maple reboot is in the best state it has ever been in. The addition of fragments has made progression tied to how much time you put in. The game has annoying rng mechanics but as long as u grind, u have guaranteed gains.
When I enter the cash shop to claim RP it says "You dont have any RP to claim" , Does it mean i got too much for this month? If there's such limitation..?
Hey I'm curious, and a bit of a masochist. I want the experience I had growing up, starting in Windia with nothing, party questing, everyone starting from scratch. Do they have a retro version before stuff got crazy complicated, (for me it was when tcg items started showing up) like the original version with fresh servers? To be honest I never even got to a super high level, I just loved hanging out in the FM and running a shop/merching, but even then still want to be back to the glory days of buying as many atk dmg for gloves scrolls and steelys/llbis as I can
For me, the worst party of maple story now, is that you are kind dependant of leveling up a lot of alts to link skill and legion. At least is the fell I have being a beginner, I started a couple days ago. Putting characters on 120 is OK, but 210 to get level 3, is insane cosidering you need 10 link skills, also legion, that you need a lot os characters at 200, or if you are crazy, at 250. I don't now if I'm missing something that is not difficult as it seems.
Okay I'm not crazy at 5:04 coppersan calls the interactive server the heroic server. A big double take when he said the heroic server could trade after he just talked about how the heroic server could not trade.
You'd think getting lvl 1-200 would be great but it's just too whiplash to suddenly stop. Like why bother 1-200 within a blink of an eye and just get rid of that all together?
I do feel like they should up the level requirements for job advancements and smooth out the skill curve per advancement by moving some skills earlier down the tree Make it interfalls that increase by 10 every advancement, so: 10, 40, 80, 130, 190, 260
great state, just dont start a maint 5 minutes after warning people and then give them a box that is borderline useless for a lot of people (doesnt even make up for missing mpe, dailies)
And they also made it that the potion can’t be put in storage too. I just claimed them all on my main and was surprised to see I couldn’t store it for one of my legion characters
Just turned Lv. 260 this morning on my main from 2009. Wtf … those EXP stones you need to fill with 50 mill EXP each 😢I will wait with 6th job advancement when it changes
I will say that although this was a good overview of the game, it doesn't address the state of the game much. I guess I expected a bit more of an opinion piece or more in depth on the pros and cons 🤷
i like to play this game a lot, but now i cant in my 5400RPM HDD because Maple (Steam) always scan all the archives after you try log in, that cause a freeze and then a crash of the game, imposible for me.

...kind of puts all the previous hard work into the gutter, especially for the characters that made it to lvl 200 before the burning character event was put into place...

If you're thinking of going into it i can help out with tips.
This game is still very much worth your time, albeit in moderation.
Theres plenty of info out there. I would say to start by making friends :) that will 100% get you further ahead than video guide.
If you have money, everything is possible. If not, dont come back just like me
I loled when you said "RAAR MAAR WAAR" 😂😂
I still can’t play maple story anymore because I was never really a fan of late game content. I always had the most fun getting a character up to 4th job (or third job pre big bang lol). Doing party quests, theme dungeons with stages that might require multiplayer if you’re not strong enough. Grinding the last few levels to a job advancement with the excitement of getting new skills - that’s what maple was all about for me. Now it’s just a game with a ton of basically useless early game content that you skip as you cruise to level 200, at which point you’re assigned chores that will make up the rest of your gameplay from now on, other than of course literal decades of grinding.
always can count on Cooper-san when I decide it's time to make a maplestory comeback
Been truly enjoying the game so much lately. I hope they keep it up :D
Man, I miss this game. I'm glad that it is still striving. This was my alternative game when I did not have hour credits for Ragnarok Online.
Releasing this one day after the 7 hour emergency maintenance is actually kinda funny.
I like where the game is at, but GMS gotta clean it up on the maintenance end.
stop exploiting bugs then
@@Dnite13 players of every game will always take free stuff, it’s on the devs to prevent it and to fix it as soon as they can
@@Dnite13Because people commenting on maintenance times are always exploiters, obviously.

Man, I played 2004-2012. It took people YEARS to get to 70-100. Now 200 can be done in 30 minutes? Damn.
End game = use your credit card and hope for the best. Unless dont play this trash game
@@rinreborn7364 clearly you know nothing about the game lol. You can't p2w in reboot(heroic) and that's the main server everyone plays and the only server anyone should play.
They made it easy to get 90% but that last 10 is absolutely hell
Maplesea is still fked ... Meso changes with no meso cube , genius
Come GMS then
Go gms and get banned 😢
tl;dr - MSEA's director/board needs to push these needed aggressive changes without fear of Nexon Korea's retaliation. It's unlikely to happen given the mix of similar cultures between regions and the population which is smaller than GMS', but I do hope it happens.
-----
Pretty much all the recent GMS changes have been pushed by its new director, a movement that could be seen by Nexon Korea as a direct confrontation against them, but likely backed up by GMS' decline over the last years and presented as a plan to keep the game going long term to their board to avoid retaliation from Korea.
As someone who took a long hiatus from like, last year to just before Go West, I 100% agree with your views in this video x3
200 in 30 minutes, so weird, when I played lv 30 took ages. Do you even take the time to level up early job skills now?
There is a reason for the 3rd rule of this channel's comment guidelines. If you're unhappy with current maplestory, read rule 3 of the comment section.
05:05 Regular/Interactive*
If you ever need to know how non-existent Inter is to him
That mistake might as well not be one kek
I know its a snowballs chance, but what I would give for an Old School server that only has the adventures and creates new content much like OSRS, it would be absolutely amazing.
I miss this game so much some days the early 2000's days.
so you're saying it's time to come back to the game after more than a year of not playing, huh
Same with 3rd to 4th.)
What's the point of cool-looking weapons when most every attack from 4th Job on takes up half the screen or more.
I love this game since I was a kid, I'm gonna play it again
They should just release an option to start a new character at lvl200 and then do the burning from 200-260
Yo amazing recap thank you brother!
hey youtube, coppersan here.... gets me everytime
Yes there is a monthly “soft cap” through playing. Technically there is no cap if you’re willing to spend on NX, since your NX purchases get you RP.
Is getting to max level easily supposed to be a good thing? I miss the journey of getting stronger.
Maplestory is a marathon
5:15 you said heroic can trade instead of interactive!
Is farming still the only realistic way to get nodestones in reboot?
Thank copper-san , but i dont think I'll come back to this game anymore.
What was the BGM that played @ 7:33 please!
15 year ago : oh yes power strike! So cool!
Maple now : 🗿
Hey I'm curious, and a bit of a masochist. I want the experience I had growing up, starting in Windia with nothing, party questing, everyone starting from scratch. Do they have a retro version before stuff got crazy complicated, (for me it was when tcg items started showing up) like the original version with fresh servers?
To be honest I never even got to a super high level, I just loved hanging out in the FM and running a shop/merching, but even then still want to be back to the glory days of buying as many atk dmg for gloves scrolls and steelys/llbis as I can
MapleRoyals
Bring back 2006-2010 MapleStory, the best version hands down.
I do feel like they should up the level requirements for job advancements and smooth out the skill curve per advancement by moving some skills earlier down the tree
Make it interfalls that increase by 10 every advancement, so: 10, 40, 80, 130, 190, 260
what class is abyssal san???
great state, just dont start a maint 5 minutes after warning people and then give them a box that is borderline useless for a lot of people (doesnt even make up for missing mpe, dailies)
a SINGLE ex growth pot is so funny 💀
And they also made it that the potion can’t be put in storage too. I just claimed them all on my main and was surprised to see I couldn’t store it for one of my legion characters
Kun je ook hetzelfde type video make voor maplestory M?
Getting to level 200 is legit insufferable, at least for me
3:55 never saw that throwing star event :O
me: i wanna play ms
past me: dailies, fomo, grind just to boom, solo play, cube rng, exp bar doesnt move
me: ahhhhh, nevermind
Me coming back and telling people my main is a BB Db. "Dang you're old" 😭 that's not even my oldest one
I remember when pan lid was best bandit and mage shield. Korean Fan was still best still at 65+. No 3rd Job.
how maplestory still have a playerbase is beyond me after nexon got caught shadownerf the best cube results to 0%
is buying insane stat items still a thing? Like I don't really appreciate the whole random chance cube stuff; is free market still good?
@@Mach2style yes just not in the heroic servers
I was just thinking of redownloading it lol
i like to play this game a lot, but now i cant in my 5400RPM HDD because Maple (Steam) always scan all the archives after you try log in, that cause a freeze and then a crash of the game, imposible for me.
how to play in GMS? my region is in MSEA and cant seems to set an account on nexon website. 😮💨
Now we need someone to do same current state of maple story for msea kekw
Yukinon already did
Hi everybody, does someone know if there is a web where i can look for service for maple? I need someone increase my level .
Would be even better if they renoved the dutch restrictions... like they did for mabinogi...
Castela MS Coming today
5:10, i assume you meant interactive servers?
my biggest gripe is the amount of daily content. it's way too fucking high.
I hate how hard it is to obtain throwing stars these days
You said in heroic servers we can trade I’m sure you meant interactive @5:15
Fangblade crying rn ...
(Only og's will understand)
I've been playing it since 2007, it took a month to get to level 30. 😅😅
Maplestory NEEDS a Classic Server. I won't ever understand why Nexon refuses to see how just ONE server wouldn't be a positive for the life of the game
love this channel
I still like Maple, I am just playing too many other games to keep playing it. Currently playing overwatch, elden ring, black desert, destiny 2, and the war within and dawntrail on the horizon...
2:35 LMAO ‘raw dog’ to 260 😂 that’s how you end up with IRL mini me alts
Ugh, is my computer not being up to snuff for ff14 really gonna bring me back to maple story... Boy I cant wait to lose all trust in nexon for like the 3rd time, but who knows? Maybe a holy miracle will make them cool.
Happy Father’s Day
nexon is banning people from their discord for suggesting to remove auto battle/ questing
...kind of puts all the previous hard work into the gutter, especially for the characters that made it to lvl 200 before the burning character event was put into place...
I'm an OG pre big bang player (2006-2009). I tried the new MS last month and quit and uninstalled the game when I saw that I had been automatically teleported to Grendel for 1st job advancement. And I stopped this video when I heard that level 200 could be reached in 30 mins.
I understand that the game is trying to cater to tiktok levels of attention span, but jesus christ... they've just completely destroyed what made the game special and fun.
about over 12 years since i have touched the game, im sure maplestory land is comming to NA.
We need a tier list 🥺🥺🥺
As a 2004 player, this is not remotely close appealing to me. I wish it was
