I know it’s a 4year old vid but have to say this guy didn’t do anything right. This thing is a commuter’s dream in my opinion. Best part about doing this is while your breakfast is being made you can get your lunch or coffee ready. I wake up really really early, I’m not taking out a pan from the drawer and making a bunch of noise as I have kids. This thing is everything and more I even bought the new one that makes 2 sandwiches at a time. Awesome product
I have it and it works great! Quick idea let the unit preheat while you get the ingredients together. You also don’t put the cheese on top of the egg. I think he purposely did that so it would turn out all messy. I could tell it was gonna be a negative review as soon as he opened his mouth. Machine works great. I recommend only 4 minutes though and follow the instructions.
I use mine almost every day. While it is warm, I wipe off the parts with a paper towel. No washing. The device uses way less electricity than the stovetop. While the unit is heating, prepare your ingredients. Lol. He waited for the preheat before making his sandwich. Sandwiches are awesome. The reviewer condemned the device before trying it a few times.
I bought the cheaper other brand one on Amazon for $17 and it's awesome. This dude is just a chef hating on an easy home device. If you're a single person or have kids, this thing is great and not even just for breakfast. I find myself making all sorts of snack sandwiches throughout the day and evening with it. If you're a pro, yeah, this thing is stupid. If you're just a regular shmo and need something like this to keep you from going to McDonald's for breakfast, grab it. Your health and wallet will appreciate you.
My sister has that machine....it’s been in it’s box for two years.....THE ONLY breakfast appliance i can see some buying is a wafflemaker...that is all.
rhys Thompson That’s pretty cool, but can’t you press the bread with a weight or even a turner and get similar results??? I’m curious to find out more about this machine! Edit: I see, your sandwich toaster turns the sandwich into pockets of tasty deliciousness, like, a hotpocket (quick breakfast burrito-like thing in the states that tastes like salt and lava) I personally wouldn’t buy the sandwich toaster, but if someone gave it to me as a gift, I’d probably whip it out on weekends when i’m off from work and about to luxuriate in the tv room watching movies haha😂😂
Luna Freeman in australia our standard sandwich toaster is too flat halves basically pressing to pans together. I like using the sandwich maker because while it’s preheating and then cooking I am busy making coffee, my lunch and putting up clean dishes from dishwasher that ran the previous night. The beauty of this is you can load it and do other things and not have to concentrate on cooking. It’s not perfect but I love it. He didn’t give an unbiased review, he didn’t try to look at it through other people’s eyes.
We have the double Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker. I received it as a Christmas gift. Summer came and the Grandkids came over and wanted to use it. They fell in love with it and asked if they could use it to make some extra spending money, by making and selling breakfast sandwiches. I thought to myself,,,"This is going to be a disaster." They sat up a table and ran an extension cord out to the sidewalk in front of my house. At first business was slow, but each morning they came over and they started getting regular customers. They invested in two more machines and kept all three machines busy. I looked up one morning and there was a line of cars a little over a block long. People would use their cell phones to place orders, by the time the customer got up to the table, their order was ready. My youngest grandson, Markie came running in the house and yelled,,,,"Grandpa, customers are wanting coffee where is your coffee maker?" I had to go out and set up the coffee maker and show the kids how to use it, but it was a success. Neighbors would walk over and place orders and end up sitting on our lawn eating breakfast. Over the years their business expanded. They added picnic tables and also have a frozen yogurt machine. My oldest Grandson has used his share of the profits to attend college. He graduated last year. Two of my Grandsons have bought and paid for cars out of their profits. So far we have really liked the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich machine. UPDATE,,,,,I have been thinking, I made a mistake, that wasn't my Grandkids that did that, it was McDonald and it wasn't in front of my house,,,,,oh well,,,,have a good day.
Terrible misrepresentation of this wonderful breakfast gadget. Clean up is a breeze, and nothing this guy did was correct. You only need to spray the egg plate. Why would you greese the bun sides? Cheese goes on the bun, with meat on top. Then grill plate between the egg and meat. There's nothing nuanced or technical in making an egg sandwhich, so this gadget works well.
@@jimchabai3163 No That is not true. The inside of the muffin is not touching anything hot, it's just warming up the inside while toasting the outside. You need to flip the muffin to toast both sides but you can't in this.
Buffon review. Didn't pierce the egg. You can also wait until about two minutes to go and then place the top muffin - world of difference. I make about 4-5 sandwiches daily on this thing and allows me to multitask in the AM and still send the fam out with nice tasty breakfast on the weekdays. The machine is great!
It might sound really silly, but we got one of these as a gift, and we actually found that it works really well for making smaller-sized pancakes. Honestly, it's a bit better at that than it is at making the breakfast sandwiches
I love this machine for making a fast breakfast at work. I have also used it to make pancakes, biscuits, and cookies. It does brown. It is awesome if you don't have a stove.
he purposely went against instructions, it does matter. not to mention the edit chop. i use the machine all the time, never takes long to heat. cooks fast and when i kid sit it is great to make snacks. you can use other breads and fillings, the kids make their own like they want.
i have the machine, it has never taken that long to heat up, about a minute at most. layer bottom muffin, cheese, ham, egg, muffin top like the instructions say and it does not take that long to cook either. it seems you went out of you way to edit and cook to make this look horrible when it is a fab machine. for teens, kids on different schedules, dorm life and apartments etc. .... you do not have to use just for breakfast. fast efficient, you do not have to have a stove, just a plug.
It's 25 bucks for something that provides almost no benefits. It takes longer to clean than a single pan, takes AT BEST the same amount of time to heat up, tastes identical or more likely worse given that eggs cooked that way tend to get rubbery, and the ham doesn't receive a proper browning it would get if you quickly pan fried it, and has a higher cost. The ONLY positive note you can add is that you don't have to actively watch it while it cooks. If that extra 2 minutes in the morning is important, and you can't just wake up 2 minutes earlier then I suppose it's for you. I myself can sacrifice 2 minutes of my life for a better breakfast. P.S: If you don't have a stove, but you purchase this, you should be removed from society for being so simple. You can buy a plug in electric stove burner for the exact same cost as this machine. P.P.S here is a list of other ways you could obtain this sandwich, without a stove OR this terrible machine: A microwave, a clothing iron, a toaster oven, a toaster you tilt on it's side, a blow torch, a fire with a pan in it, your cars engine block, a flat surface, a magnified glass and a sunny day, go to a friends house who owns a stove and clearly makes better financial decisions than yourself, a grill, buy one for a dollar from any fast-food place, rob a guy at dunkin' donuts. The list goes on and on my friend.
I have this unit as well, actually I have the 2 sandwich maker version, and it works like a dream. One doesn't have to stay there and babysit a pan and for me, before the purchase of this machine, I never used a one pan method either and I bet you almost no one does. Most people probably use a toaster to toast their English muffins and a separate pan for the eggs and meat.
I have the same one. Just haven’t used it in years. I broke it out and tested it. It took 3:42 to heat. I think it’s a cool machine, but for the money, a nice large nonstick pan is still a good maybe better option.
Hey Roy! You read the directions? Your meat must be cooked first and the egg yoke has to be pierced . Also, the cheese does not go the top of the egg, goes under the meat. The manufacturer should make you do this over again. AND - today! You pay less than $39 for a double cooker. Score: D +.
Any Canadians notice that his "Canadian bacon" was actually just ham? That's ham, guys. Not what we would call peameal bacon (or what you'd call Canadian bacon).
Couple of mistakes in this you did 1st, You need to put all the ingredients at the bottom besides the egg "Bottom of Muffin, Meats, Bacon and Cheese" Then the middle/top is Egg and Top part of the muffin. That's most likely why it didn't come out that great plug you left it sitting. 2nd, You coated everything with spray which you didn't need to at all. That is why it took almost double the time to heat up. 3rd, You left it sitting there while you took the unit apart and cooked your other sandwich. You could have done both at the same time.
like mine a lot too- i do add a bit extra grated cheese to a slightly beaten egg for the top and it does not stick. Also, spread a little horseradish sauce on the muffin. MMM.
your missing the point of the all in one, you can walk off and get dressed or something work while your breakfast is cooking, you maintence you don't have to watch it
THIS!!!! This gadget regulates temp and you have a time frame. You put it in and do other things while it cooks. With the pan method you would have to watch it the entire time so the egg cooks properly and the ham doesn’t burn/flipping etc. In the end the gadget saves you more time because you have 4-5 min to get your stuff together, pack your lunch do your hair...whatever you want.
I use this quote a bit, i just do some extra steps. While it preheating i toast the muffin in a toaster. I layer it differently so its better, and there is no need to clean it every time since its just oil getting on it. Cheers
I guess you never went to college in a dorm where you couldn’t have a microwave/stove top, or had children where you had to watch and couldn’t watch the stove at the same time. I can see someone making this in the morning and multitasking with the timer while it cooks. Which can save time in a drive thru and is also healthier. I personally am not about mess, and I like the fact this takes up a small amount of space, and then I can just wait for it to cool and wash. I’m not waiting for a pan to soak before scrubbing and then put in the dishwasher. I also have seen you don’t need to spray it, and that’s also a big plus for me.
You made it backwards. According to the commercial toppings go after the bottom slice of the muffin, and then the egg with the top slice. The bottom wouldn't have melted to the egg if you did it the right way.
I totally agree with you! I have one and prefer the pan especially if you use a ring for a round egg ... just tastes better and easier, quicker and you don't have to worry about burning yourself!
Well I definitely had one, a few years ago I found myself kitchen-less and staying in an hotel with expensive room service so I got this and a mini steamer and yes I was happy with those results compared to an overpriced breakfast but thanks for your review 🥂👩🏽💻
I disagree. I have this unit as well, actually I have the 2 sandwich maker version, and it works like a dream. One doesn't have to stay there and babysit a pan and for me, before I had this machine, I never used a one pan method either and I bet you almost no one does. Most people probably use a toaster to toast their English muffins and a separate pan for the eggs and meat.
I have this machine... its not as bad as he makes it seem to be. I like it when I am on the go. I let the thing heat up before I put all the stuff in though.
An even easier way to make your breakfast sandwich is to use a coffee or soup mug and an microwave. If you spray the mug and I pop the yoke and between heating up the ham, toasting the muffin and microwaving the egg you are talking about two minutes maybe three tops depending on how dark you like your muffin toasted.
I wonder what this video would have looked like if the production team and the host didn't already decide they should look down on whoever would even consider buying this product. The video may have even been interesting. You need to realize that the product is made for people who do not know the phrase "maillard reaction" and they shouldn't be shamed for that.
the title said and description said to cook breakfast sandwich only. And I think the machine is win. Why ? to cook the breakfast sandwich the machine only need the machine itself, the ingredients, and electricity outlet and you can start making your own breakfast sandwich. Meanwhile to cook breakfast sandwich, the man himself needs (as shown in the video) a pan, an electric/gas stove , the electricity/gas itself to power up the stove and the ingredients for making the breakfast sandwich. So for the price and time wise, the machine is the winner
oh man, this is the best, best video on this topic, i can already tell, im that good, im that studied on these fake review vids, ppl who won't even eat them, or cant even taste stuff... Im really going to enjoy this well done review, share this with your friends, and fam. I have one of these in y possession, however it is incomplete and honestly i just thought it was a warmer for a sandwich , dont ask me how i got it, we don't have that kind of time, but i need to uderstand what the full experience is with this insane design, so thanks again for being a good person Eater guy, you are a champion, it's in you, you can do anything. know that.
A riddle for u guys------- If the English muffin is from England,The American cheese is from America, and the Canadian bacon is from Canada, Where is the egg from? I will edit and put answer later
Definitely not a fair comparison. I have this machine (actually the double one) and it's so easy to clean... And fast enough for me. It's set it and forget it... Walk away for 5 minutes and it's done! And ya, he assembled it wrong and forgot to poke the egg yolk and didn't add s&p! Tragedy! I like it without meat, or with spinach, whatever. The ability to walk away is the best part, and cleanup is super easy. It is probably my most used machine in my kitchen. Disappointing comparison. I have to laugh though, I have never used any spray on mine... Oops?
missdiscoduck he did it on purpose so it would turn out crappy. Says right in the instructions what to do are you telling me they don’t research this before the video? Lol
As a Canadian living in Milwaukee, I'm STILL trying to figure out what American's call "Canadian Bacon". American cheese I have figured out, but Canadian Bacon still eludes me.
I'd like to use that..let's call it "gadget" just because I like the ritual of preparing my breakfast but if I'm really hungry that pan will be my best friend. Where in the world can I get that shirt ?!
the machine allows you to multi-task other things, while the pan dont... sure the pan cooks as fast than the machine, but the whole idea is time for breakfast, i certainly do not have time to cook breakfast, so the machine gets thumbs up for me
I bought one of those like two years ago. I used it *once* - the sandwich it made was soggy and sad and so I never used it again. It ended up in the back of a cabinet up until I moved out of that apartment and I threw it away on my way out
I feel like he always already thinks the protect he’s testing is inferior before he even tries it. It’s a little annoying honestly. He also never talks about what the product would be good for compared to the “regular” way.
Wutsizface That’s your opinion. These things aren’t for everyone and some people don’t need it. But I know people that it helps because they can do all the other things they need to do in the morning while two sandwiches are cooking. They have a different one but same concept.
You’re very funny. I agree the machine is a one trick pony. Before I tried it I would never have thought of making space for something like this. I have never had a fast food one of these. Mine was gifted and I figured I’d at least try it out. But different strokes for different folks. You came in to do a negative review. I’m going to go make a breakfast sandwich (no pan to wash) 😉
We have this gadget and bring it with us to Dragon*Con. You don't have much counter space in a hotel room, so this works really well. We don't really use it at any other time though.

The guy makes good point but he’s definitely biased. He could of convinced me without the biases.

I have this machine... its not as bad as he makes it seem to be. I like it when I am on the go. I let the thing heat up before I put all the stuff in though.
He is also let the thing heat up
i love how he put the cheese in different spots
An even easier way to make your breakfast sandwich is to use a coffee or soup mug and an microwave. If you spray the mug and I pop the yoke and between heating up the ham, toasting the muffin and microwaving the egg you are talking about two minutes maybe three tops depending on how dark you like your muffin toasted.
didn't even put the cheese in the right spot
If you live in a dorm room and do not want to go out to get the food, gadget like this can really help.
LOVE that the specter of Nick was invoked during the critique of the sandwiches.
That sandwhich maker is great for cooking up some STEAMED HAMS
I do like people that talk sense. and are direct
He didn't follow the instructions.
So you just let it get cold and then taste it
Office kitchen. Staff canteens. 👍🏻👍🏻
You used it wrong. It's actually really good. I was surprised.
Instant upvote at the "platonic ideal" part.

Students in dorm rooms and people who have mobility challenges are what this was made for. Maybe not officially.
Thanks for these reviews, one of my favorite channels
Lol, stumbled upon this video after buying the machine today. Planning to test your theories again tomorrow morning !
what is your conclusion? I love the machine.. this guy is full of it imo
I wonder what this video would have looked like if the production team and the host didn't already decide they should look down on whoever would even consider buying this product. The video may have even been interesting. You need to realize that the product is made for people who do not know the phrase "maillard reaction" and they shouldn't be shamed for that.
Bad review for the sandwich machine. Although I have no problem making my own sandwich, this is a useful gadget, just bad representation.
Or you can just get McMuffin at Mcdonalds....#Simpler
the title said and description said to cook breakfast sandwich only.
My 8 year old uses hers before school.
Thank you! you saved me $30 bucks. Almost bought this thing... I could use that money to buy more muffins and cheese and eggs!
That isn't what Canadian bacon looks like, eh?
oh man, this is the best, best video on this topic, i can already tell, im that good, im that studied on these fake review vids, ppl who won't even eat them, or cant even taste stuff... Im really going to enjoy this well done review, share this with your friends, and fam. I have one of these in y possession, however it is incomplete and honestly i just thought it was a warmer for a sandwich , dont ask me how i got it, we don't have that kind of time, but i need to uderstand what the full experience is with this insane design, so thanks again for being a good person Eater guy, you are a champion, it's in you, you can do anything. know that.
Fair Enough!
He forgot salt. And pepper.
I like the egg on the Hamilton Beach maker. However......pour an egg in a mug and microwave it for 40 seconds...and you can get the same egg.
BEC on a roll, SPK. A long island staple. Since leaving NY, I just can't find it, so I make it myself. You found out too.
I prefer the Hamilton to frying pan. Cleanup is super easy. Don't you wash your frying pan too?
A riddle for u guys-------
If the English muffin is from England,The American cheese is from America, and the Canadian bacon is from Canada, Where is the egg from?
Lol
I don't understand why Americans call that "Canadian Bacon". It looks nothing like the peameal bacon you'd find in Canada from that cut of pork.
Great vid. Been watching several reviews. I'll stick with my pan and subscribe.
what kind of a monster uses a knife to open an english muffin?
As a Canadian living in Milwaukee, I'm STILL trying to figure out what American's call "Canadian Bacon".
American cheese I have figured out, but Canadian Bacon still eludes me.
You could do a simple Google search and educate yourself instead of commenting in ignorance.
I'm with this guy on this one
I'd like to use that..let's call it "gadget" just because I like the ritual of preparing my breakfast but if I'm really hungry that pan will be my best friend.
Where in the world can I get that shirt ?!
The English Muffin breakfast sandwich is the quintessential platonic ideal breakfast sandwich that is indubitably worth it.
10 maillard reactions / 10
Really cool video idea, keep this going as a series!
the machine allows you to multi-task other things, while the pan dont... sure the pan cooks as fast than the machine, but the whole idea is time for breakfast, i certainly do not have time to cook breakfast, so the machine gets thumbs up for me
He’s so biased I love it so much
Alton Brown has some very strong opinions on that Hamilton Beach sandwich maker.
That is the stupidest kitchen gadget I've seen in many moons.
Anna Emerson Your comment is the most stupid comment I've seen in many moons.
Rylai and your reply to her comment is the most stupid comment I've seen in many moons.
Rylai Crestfall, your only sister is not the most dumb person in your sibling list.
@@tabaks WHAT?? 😂😂😂
@@tabaks Did you just assume it's gender??? How rude
Calling that Canadian bacon is a hate crime.
I love the haters. I have one and it is very convenient, you don't put the cheese on top of the egg.
That's what you call Canadian bacon? That looks just looks like ham to me. We don't ccall that Canadian bacon in Canada.
elTorpedo FINALLY
Someone said it
elTorpedo well in the states we call it Canadian bacon.
elTorpedo Maple bacon is Canadian to me
Shut up, Canada! Nobody cares what you think.
Wutsizface I'm sorry, are you offended?
I don't know... seems more like something I'd have at my store for snacking, than something I'd use for daily breakfast.
I bought one of those like two years ago. I used it *once* - the sandwich it made was soggy and sad and so I never used it again. It ended up in the back of a cabinet up until I moved out of that apartment and I threw it away on my way out
In the ad, it shows the cheese going on the bottom slice of English muffin. Not on top of the egg.
I'm Canadian and I'm still not quite sure what Canadian bacon is. Is it just ham??
Going into this video, I already knew the outcome.
i sincerely do NOT like this guy
See, the thing about me is I'm really lazy. So I want it.
Haha I had one of those breakfast sandwich makers when I lived on rez in university
I feel like he always already thinks the protect he’s testing is inferior before he even tries it. It’s a little annoying honestly. He also never talks about what the product would be good for compared to the “regular” way.
The product isn't good for anything. It was invented for the sole purpose of extracting money from stupid and/or lazy people.
Why do people call it Canadian bacon. In Canada we call that ham...
Did he spray a non stick pan?
Love your shirt bro!
Your egg isn't round... You loose.
Why did you put the egg in be for the cheese
We have this gadget and bring it with us to Dragon*Con. You don't have much counter space in a hotel room, so this works really well. We don't really use it at any other time though.
