That's where my nope factor ended (it began at getting a one-trick pony item like this in the first place). 10 minutes for ONE slice of toast is ridiculous. You can buy a hotplate or something similar and use a pan that can cook more than just breakfast.

    • @wynngwynn
      @wynngwynn Год назад +7

That's not really a problem (you can set stuff up, go take a shower and then it's done when you're out), but there's 100 other appliances that can cook a whole breakfast that do more than just breakfast. 45 dollars is a lot, for just a littler more you could get a cheaper model instant pot and just use the saute function for the toast and be able to cook a ton of other stuff too.

I have one of these, of a different brand, and mine has worked great for 12 years. It also only cost me about $25 at WalMart, and it includes a 24 oz coffee/tea maker. Hands down one of the best appliances I've ever had! I even travel with it to use in hotel rooms! Mine has a 15-minute timer. The trick to making the best use of it is to start the foods in stages. For example, get the griddle and toaster warming, then put the griddle food on, then when it's about halfway cooked put the bread in the oven and start brewing the coffee/tea. That's how everything turns out at the same time. My usual breakfast was to grill some fresh spinach and three or four Little Smokie sausages, then one or two eggs and toast half a bagel and brew a pot of coffee. Sadly, the brewer, after 12 years, is starting to lose some heat, so I recently bought another breakfast station by another brand that is still very compact, but has a griddle and oven that are both twice the size, and I can only hope it does as well!

    1. Put a little butter on both sides of the English muffin and put it butter side downn on the pan.
    2. Cook up your egg and bacon in the same plan, just lay a piece of cheese on top of the egg if you want

Maybe a suggestion: The cleaning/maintenance of the product under test would be something i would really like to be included in future videos. I feel thats something which buyers don't always consider and often a reason why you stop using an appliance after a while.

Another great review James! Everytime I see one of these "Breakfast Maker" contraptions, I always wonder "Who is this designed for?" Lol. I just can't see where the difference between them and an old fashioned stove or oven is. I guess these could be handy in small quarters or for someone that really doesn't like to cook. To each his own I guess, lol.

College/universities don't allow hot plates etc in dorms. My guess is that's who it's designed for.

@@munkustrap2 Except these would technically be banned too. No hot plates or griddles. Though even with a ban the teens in my dorm were surprisingly good at setting their rooms on fire. And flooding them. Great combo.

My flatmate wants a bigger version of this that can cook various things for his room so he can make himself something to eat without disturbing me when I sleep.
This tiny one is probably good for really small spaces.

Destined to end up at the back of the bottom shelf where kitchen appliances go into exile when they’re more hassle than utility. It might even meet the Zylis Kitchen Whiz that’s been there since 1973?

When a 'bread' item is really moist, which most e-muffins are, it takes twice as long to toast. Personally I would put the one of the muffin sides up above and instead do back bacon on top of the egg, then flip halfway through. However, having said that, a 'single use' type appliance is just wasted energy. Even in a dorm or RV a Ninja foodie would be a lot more versatile... but that's just my opinion.😜

The issue with stuff like this is that you expect it to be lower on the power to go easy on some things, but nope it's full power.
The heat for the toaster will be milder but the eggs and sausage will cook too fast.
You could just get a simple electric hotpot thing that serves like a skillet. You can toast bread on a hot and dry surface, then remove and cook eggs and sausage after.

This was the first time I have seen this contraption and I think I will stick to the good ole fashion toaster and my air fryer lol. I had 1 simular to this a long time ago and gave it to my son cause I did not care for it lol. I do like your videos though. Watching the car phone holders helped me pick out the best one for hubby for xmas.

I'd rather just use a frying pan that I can wash in the sink or toss in the dishwasher. I love Farmer John's, I could have eaten that whole 10 pack in one sitting. 🙂

Agreed, and if you don't have a stove for whatever reason, an electric skillet for about $40 with a lid, and temp control works just as well, and is far more versatile.

On another note I keep seeing bulbhead commercials saying “we may stop production” because of supply shortages but then they keep playing the same commercials all day n night.
Just fyi, don’t be fooled by them clowns. 😮

i often eat at midnight in my room, while my family sleeps cuz im in college and don't eat during the day since it makes me tired. I often want to cook some stuff but don't want to be super loud and have to wash dishes or be in the kitchen for long. this seems like you can probably use it for many other things as well, like sometimes i make grilled cheeses in advance and wrap them for later. this can be a great way to heat them up again while making it toasted still, since i usually just microwave them. also im thinking you can heat up like a cheese sauce and have hot cheese to dip with noodles or nachos

Bacon is such a personal preference when it comes to chewy/crispy. That little machine cooked it damn near in the middle.
Also for cracking an egg and leaving it, it turned out better than expected.
    Toaster feature was unnecessary.
Not a bad little gadget but I'll stick with my electric griddle.

The Hamilton Beach one works great, and it puts it all together for you. Bagels may be too big for it, but it’s perfect for English muffins. It’s great for a single dad like me.
