Those were the days when cricket was classy and more enjoyable. I remember this whole series, I was a school kid and I wanted to watch all of the matches of this C & U series but couldn't. I really miss that time and all of these great players and legends. I have enjoyed the highlights of this match thoroughly especially Gilchrist's and Symonds's innings

I found something contrast here too. When every batsman in Australian team failed , Micheal Bevan shines and when vice-versa..
It’s interesting Michael Bevan missed out with the bat as it was a strong all round team effort with the bat.
Pakistan's ODI record against Aus is always poor. But In T20I's their performance against AUS is slightly better.
Australia have has great success against Pakistan in One Day Internationals and Pakistan have a great Twenty20 team and have done well against Australia.

I don't think Australia had a better team than Pakistan at that time.
Gilchrist scored 16 runs in akram's over. He showed how to play against such bowlers. Even great batsman like sachin never scored 10 runs in akram's over.

pakistan gifted Australia so many matches bcoz of their fielding,,, first u drop lolly dolly catches of someone like Gilchrist and mark Waugh when u know there's ponting Bevan Steve Waugh Symonds to follow ,,, and u don't stop there too ,,, u keep on misfielding overthrows allowing singles to go for boundaries ,,, I think back then pakistan Only relied on their bowlers to hit the stumps...

The pitch had nothing except bounce ,,, accurate bouncers from McGrath and Lee brigade and Pakistan surrendered,,, it was just too easy for Australia,,,

Overhyped by just seeing one match?. Wasim got 916 international wickets,Waqar almost 790 . Both having avg of 23 in all formats. They are not overhyped. Even McGrathand Warne hammered by batsmen few times( Warne hammered by indian batsmen every time in Asia started by Kambli). Does that mean they are overhyped?
The whole tour was comprised of biased umpiring and poor fielding. It was that Langer big inside edge not given by umpire in the second test at Hobart that ruined the whole tour for Pakistan.
From there on Pakistan lost all hope.

Twenty20 started in England in 2003 and the 1st Twenty20 International was in 2005 with New Zealand vs Australia played in New Zealand.
