I recall seeing a t20 innings from Sangakara where he played every shot in the book and even some I had not seen before. This guy was pure class. I'd still pick Gilly over him, but not by much. Sangakara had a few too many soft dismissals and did not reach his potential IMO. Still 2nd best or arguably best wkt keeper batsman in history.

I was in 9 th class ..this was the best cricket team I have ever seen.. this team was fearless ,bold and very very aggressive .. it's a great achievement for any team to win a single series only ... World xi team had no affect on this team ..they could crush any time at any moment
i was in 8th standard and a die hard fan of every single cricket match. Still remember that my skool bus left dropped me to my home and i immediately turned on my tv for this match to see how hard the competition could be.
They had Kevin Peiterson at no. 8 . With such a deep batting line , they couldn't match up with aussies of that era. That shows australian dominance in world cricket during that era. Even whole world combined couldn't stop 'em. Note: No Hayden & Mcgrath were there.
Though people say that Aussies were at their prime till 2010, I believe they still dominate world cricket as before. In the last 15 years they have won two 50 overs wc, one test championship, t20 wc and many more major accolades. Still some people believe that they are well past their prime. The difference is that other teams had no chances against them at that period, now this chance factor has increased a bit. Only, that's all the difference. Their winning mentality remains the same. I mean, if other teams could have won some one-off trophies, they think that they dominate the world cricket😂.

This was a golden era more dominant than any other country in any other sport. Australia easily accounted for a World XI and Australia A was at times considered the unofficial number 2 team in the world. This is not an exaggeration, it was a colossal team.
