By an underrated band too. Wolfmother has a timeless quality that will always sound amazing. It's really difficult to get such a pure rock sound like this.
Reminds me when I was riding my bike early in the morning, with this tune in my headphones. I had to cross frozen corn fields in January, with only crows circling across the rising sun. The music fitted perfectly to these magical moments. Very intense memories...
That’s fucking awesome. I’m from the Midwest so I get you. I’d ride the bus and get lost in the metal seeing a similar sight. I’m fully committed to responding to this three year old comment lol be well
I agree, if they would have stayed together, jeeeeeez. They might have become one of the greatest rock band of all time. New line-up just isn't producing the quality of music their first album did.
They achieved greatness. They didn't do it for long enough. Now instead of being the greatest rock band in all of ever, they'll only be known as a group that vainly pined for the 70's. Shame...
Well I can tell you when I'm stoned as hell and I am trying to stay awake and keep my lungs breathing and I hear wolfmother it makes me realise there are only 2 truths in this world life is on big suffer and (good)music rocks.
@WolfmotherSongs Haha, yeah, I understand. Me, I'm all about experimentation, especially that of the psychadelic genre, which is what the original WM album was chalk-full of. To each his own, brother.
@WolfmotherSongs Iron Maiden are in the scene from almost 30 years, Wolfmother released their debut album in 2005. For such a young band, two albums in six-seven years it's not that great. However, great band, and to me this album can actually be one of the greatest rock album of the past decade.
Was listening to KRCL in SLC last night in the garage working on a car, and they played an extended version of this song, and I never wanted it to end. I hadn't really listened to wolfmother before, but this song rocks! Anybody know where the extended version of this is hiding? I WANT IT!
the first of these songs i heard of was the joker and the thief and before my favourite song was 7 nation army but by god these are better i htink this iso ne of the greatest bands in the world
@loberman with ''a lot of people'' i mean people i know, i guess you're from canada/US and it's nice to hear you know them BUT, i'm from the netherlands(that explains my bad english) and almost nobody knows who they are..so that's a shame and in my opinion joker and the thief is a nice song ;) and damn, they are good=D(live to)
What happened to the old music that used to be on RUclips? It was made by a college student or something and it was great but I can't seem to find it anymore.
Sounds closer to Pink Floyd's Brain Damage. Both songs start with a D major arpeggio, only difference is that the second arpeggio in Brain Damage is a G7, but here it's a D minor.
Adelin LaRose I hated it at first. But when I bought it to give them a second chance, I learned to LOVE it. I adapted to the new(ish) vibe, and as far as I'm concerned it's bloody fun to listen to. This album (Wolfmother) requires thought and meaning, while the new one I can just jam for fun without having to think about scenes in my head where they would fit (I'm very imaginative haha). Just give it another chaaaaance. New Crown, How many Times, Tangarine Dream and I AINT GOT NOOO!, are definitely my favourites (I love them all ha!).
Cool! I do that too, where I think of scenes in my head when I listen to songs, like music videos with my favorite fictional characters or movie scenes I come up with. Yeah, I've only listened to their new album once, so I should listen to it again.
I still think to this day of this song being about some kind of acid trip kind of like luci in the sky, though I feel this song does it much better with the distorted wind howling, the dreamy guitar riff at the front and the over all out your mind lyrics about a city of dreams. I'll say it here and now, I used to listen to this all the time when I was like 13 and now that I've had some years to come back to it, it's put a whole new meaning to it. 10/10 would recommend.
Wish there was more of this music now rather than the god awful shite that gets mixed in a computer one day played the next and winning awards the following week. Talent in music is lost, if your good looking, young and can sell sex then your on to a winner. I'm 30 and music, real music from mad twats with personality let alone talent are, unfortunately a thing of the past. X
+TheBourbonDuke There is plenty of music like this nowadays, you just are too busy whining about the mediocre stuff to look for the good stuff. I'm sure you'll like The Mars Volta, Opus Dai, Queens of The Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Jack White, The Raconteurs, Eagles of Death Metal, The Hives, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Royal Blood, Franz Ferdinand, and Fu ManChu. I found a good portion of those bands by digging through spotify for 10 minutes and they all have enough music to fill two of your ipods. Also your age doesn't mean anything when it comes to music. Get over yourself, kid.
@WolfmotherSongs Yeah, but the original line-up had the perfect chemistry. You just don't find a rhythm section like this everyday, so heavy, and Stockdale's a perfect match-up for these two -- musically, at least. I can't really consider it Wolfmother anymore.
This song destroys me every single f***ing time. This here is what I would call an example of how music can move mountains, this is what I would show an alien raze threatening to destroy humanity, to show them a reason why we should be spared. God damn it.
One of the most underrated songs of all time.
Matheus Zaian most underrated album of all time *
AMEN.
By an underrated band too. Wolfmother has a timeless quality that will always sound amazing. It's really difficult to get such a pure rock sound like this.
They're okay. A live show is lacking in quality.
This album is such a masterpiece but this song.. it's another level.
Reminds me when I was riding my bike early in the morning, with this tune in my headphones. I had to cross frozen corn fields in January, with only crows circling across the rising sun. The music fitted perfectly to these magical moments. Very intense memories...
metal af
That’s fucking awesome. I’m from the Midwest so I get you. I’d ride the bus and get lost in the metal seeing a similar sight. I’m fully committed to responding to this three year old comment lol be well
What a perfect visual.
The way they use the piano and guitar solos are just awesome.
This band leaves me speechless yet satisfied every fucking time
Where Eagles Have Been, there is something innocent and serene about the storyline. Music and lyrics are touching to the soul...
Amazing guitar solo.
How did this album not win every award conceived by man
yeah how did it not every song on this album kicks ass is rare have to own one now
Free Bird is to Lynrd Skynrd as Where Eagles Have Been is to Wolfmother 👌
Tell me about it, man.
@@JacobSmith-rh2sr I tell my friends that all the time and they think I'm crazy.
People have forgotten about rock n roll man, but not us, not us
Wolfmother is really good .
Understatement
Pure awesomeness!
4:24 to about 4:26 reminds me of Dazed and Donfused by Led Zeppelin.
Great work, honestly one of their best songs
I miss this wolf
I agree, if they would have stayed together, jeeeeeez. They might have become one of the greatest rock band of all time. New line-up just isn't producing the quality of music their first album did.

DAT BASS LINE DOE!!! OMG!!!! at 1:57 always gives me goosebumps!!!
They achieved greatness. They didn't do it for long enough.
Now instead of being the greatest rock band in all of ever, they'll only be known as a group that vainly pined for the 70's. Shame...
Their greatest song.
Agreed
The bass line at 1:58 sounds like Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd :o
Solo at 4 mins is so rush. And that's a good thing
Thank You sir. WolfMother is Amazing and iv just recently discovered that. That you for showing me the light of badassness.
I see visions of knights upon a valiant quest to slay the Beast of the Deep.
i wee
1:11 onwards is magic
Well I can tell you when I'm stoned as hell and I am trying to stay awake and keep my lungs breathing and I hear wolfmother it makes me realise there are only 2 truths in this world life is on big suffer and (good)music rocks.
it's a shame that a lot of people don't know them, luckely i've heard their music
and i like it=D
Symphony of Coolnesses!
he's talking about tripping. good fella
this takes me to deep places in my mind so damn catchy its one of those tunes that just stick with ya \m/
@WolfmotherSongs yes, but in the eighties they released 7 albums, in 10 years, with each being an instant classic
this is the only album that stays in my truck all the rest are un the house
Damn. That's beautiful!!
@WolfmotherSongs
Haha, yeah, I understand. Me, I'm all about experimentation, especially that of the psychadelic genre, which is what the original WM album was chalk-full of. To each his own, brother.
My favorite now!?!?!
@WolfmotherSongs Iron Maiden are in the scene from almost 30 years, Wolfmother released their debut album in 2005. For such a young band, two albums in six-seven years it's not that great.
However, great band, and to me this album can actually be one of the greatest rock album of the past decade.

I totally agree.
Great song :D
"Misted Haze" is quite a pleonasm :-D
4 people have never been in the castle with the eagles!
Was listening to KRCL in SLC last night in the garage working on a car, and they played an extended version of this song, and I never wanted it to end. I hadn't really listened to wolfmother before, but this song rocks! Anybody know where the extended version of this is hiding? I WANT IT!

with ''a lot of people'' i mean people i know, i guess you're from canada/US and it's nice to hear you know them BUT, i'm from the netherlands(that explains my bad english) and almost nobody knows who they are..so that's a shame
and in my opinion joker and the thief is a nice song ;)
and damn, they are good=D(live to)
this song should have been named-
misty haze
What happened to the old music that used to be on RUclips? It was made by a college student or something and it was great but I can't seem to find it anymore.
I hear people compare Wolfmother to Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath a lot, but this song gives me strong Rush vibes.
when will the new album be out ?
3:41
This song reminds me of free bird
@WolfmotherSongs well then I guess I'm trying to say I want more :/
Can you see what I seagull

Sundial, Pilgrim, Back Around...
The beginning is literally The Beatles' Mother Nature's Son
Sounds closer to Pink Floyd's Brain Damage. Both songs start with a D major arpeggio, only difference is that the second arpeggio in Brain Damage is a G7, but here it's a D minor.

+INSANExSPARTAN1 Wolfmother
INSANExSPARTAN1 it's a self-titled album
Jack White much?
I hope in 6 years you've realized that music is inspired by music, because that's what people do.
hey hey eagles fly where no mans been yet every eagle... also every eagle is female. thumb this up so everyone gets it... READ THE LYRICS!
Another classic song telling us about flat earth that people will one day realize they were fooled into thinking they lived on a ball.

that was a terrible joke im sorry!
@mjhher3394 thats pig latin..
@77GRUNT then just listen to more old black sabbath and bloodrock
This is the only band of the 2000s that I know that can pull off a seventies rock sound and do it with class!!!Such an underrated Band!!!
... I'm having trouble dealing with how good this band is.
It's true; their newest album was more than disappointing. :(
Adelin LaRose I hated it at first. But when I bought it to give them a second chance, I learned to LOVE it. I adapted to the new(ish) vibe, and as far as I'm concerned it's bloody fun to listen to. Yeah the new album is more straight forward but good anyway. I think the best song is "tall ships" it has a pretty nice riff and the solo is great.
doodle
WM reminds me so much of Led Zeppelin. I love it.
Hell yeah
one of the greatest songs for a very long time . . . . IMO
I agree completely
The wind howling right before the solo begins sends chills down my spine 03:42
Is it just me, or would a Paul McCartney/Ozzy Osbourne duet of this song be totally badass?
My favorite wolfmother song. Glad to see others agree
Man I've been looking for this song ever since I was 11
JUst listened to it again after a really long time, so fcking awesome.
Years later.. I still get goosebumps. Wolfmother forever!
I still think to this day of this song being about some kind of acid trip kind of like luci in the sky, though I feel this song does it much better with the distorted wind howling, the dreamy guitar riff at the front and the over all out your mind lyrics about a city of dreams. 2024 still listening to this gold

uhh burn
too right cobba
too right cobba
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurn hahahaha. Well said!
@WolfmotherSongs
Yeah, but the original line-up had the perfect chemistry.
1:32 Can you see what a seagull?
Yeah it does sound like that! :D
Jorge Allthedrums Can you see what I see girl? That sounds a lot more plausable
***** Seagulls are badass, seems more plausible that an almost equally awesome band would pay them homage in a song.
Yeah shes like an eagle in the misty haze
I miss the original line-up... damn, they were fucking awesome.
