Just want to say THANK YOU! I used your video and followed it exactly and was able to build mine over the past 2 days with no woodworking experience at all. Just need to add MDF board, paint, and do mantle but the frame is done! Great job!
That’s awesome. I’m so glad it helped you out. Great job 👏
Great job.. I'm here for the same purpose 😂
This is exactly what my wife wants. I literally am going to have to watch this video a million on my own.
I was in the same boat. We got quoted over $2500 from a Contractor so I convinced her I could do it. She loves it and now wants one in our bedroom
Where we get that fire box ????
We picked ours up on Amazon. The link is in the description of the video. Thanks for watching.@@vankadavathsanjith2080
Hi Sir do you have exact measurement of all the woods that you used? Thank you.
I’m sorry I don’t. I built it to line up with the bottom of the two windows to each side of the fireplace.
Exactly the process I’m using😊
Too cool to see I’m on the right track!
Thanks for this video!
You are so welcome! Good luck with your project
Great job brother 💪🏽👍🏽
Thank you
Nice job. Clean look. Now move the tv 18" down and avoid tilt, flat looks 2023.
Thanks
I love it!! the narrow size is the perfect for small living room we have! I will definitely try this out!! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Looks like a pro did that. Great job.
Thank you
Nailed it. I will be following your blueprint.
Awesome. Hope it turns out great
Great job! Thanks for sharing your process.
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching
I like my tv’s up higher too. When i hit the recliner, my head follows. If you’re capable of sitting in a straight position looking straight ahead, you’re probably not sore from a hard days work lol😂
agreed 👍
Wonderful job.......on to the next project 😊
Thank you! 😊
Nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!
I LOVE IT! GOOD JOB!
... but I suggest to lower down the TV a bit, that gap in-between doesn't look good tho. And you're tilting your eyes/head while watching.
Thanks for the input. I made an upgrade. Please check out the video on hanging the sound bar I made and let me know what you think. Thanks
@@C_L_STEVENSON Awesome! LuvetsSSs!
Great and simple approach. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you
Excellent job, beautifully done.😊❤
Thank you! Cheers!
I’m thinking about doing one nice work my guy
Thank you for watching
Awesome job!!!! We’re getting ready to do the same and your method is exactly what we want to do (can we hire you??…LOL)
Thank you very much. I decided to do this myself because we were quoted over $2000 from a contractor…. That was a family friend !! If you have any question feel free to hit me up.
looks great!!!! awesome job! yeah these people are crazy with price, it seems like 2k is the number they all use. everything is 2k and up.
Yes I agree. Thanks for watching
How many inches apart where the two side square s
Great job C_L_STEVENSON this diy video was much needed awesome work!!!
Glad I could help. Thanks for watching
Looks really nice❤❤❤😊😊😊
Thank you! Cheers!🍻
Looks so good 👍🏾
Thank you 😋
Nice job. Can you tell me that front top piece of the framing you attached.. what’s that attached to?
The one around 3:00 minutes
I ran the screws at an angle into the side supports. A pocket hole jig would be a perfect tool for this. I didn’t have one at the time. Hope this helps.
Awesome job, brother
Thank you. Got it done just in time for winter.
Very Beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
You done good!
Thank you
I'm tackling this thank you my guy
Glad I could help. Good luck with your project
nice job man
Thank you
I like how simple your design is. Does this actually put out enough heat to warm this space? I have heard some of these don't do a great job warming.
Not the whole room. It’s cozy to sit in front of while watching tv though.
Great video! Going to be starting this project soon. How big was the TV? I noticed you opted for the 50 inch fireplace so I assume the TV must be 65 or 75 inch? I have a 65 inch TV but im looking at maybe just having a 42 inch fireplace since the space is small (basement). What are your thoughts?
We have a 65 so it’s slightly larger than the overall size of the fireplace. I have seen both styles and they look great.
Wow. Need some baseboard with mitered cuts on each side.
We got them added. Thanks
Thank you 🙏
Any time!
I really like the way you did this, I'll be doing the same in a week or two except I'll be facing it with tongue and groove boards. Will that be an issue with the heat generated?
In my opinion it will be fine. I’ve seen a lot of videos of people doing the tongue and groove, it’s very popular. Good luck on Your project Thanks for your feedback
Hi, great video thanks. What material is the mantel?
Thanks for watching. We used a standard 2 x 6 board and sanded it down then stained it and Glued to the top.
Love it....what are the dimensions if you don't mind please?
Thank you so much. The overall dimensions are 69” wide x 39” tall x 8” deep.
Hi and thank you for the video~! what is the total depth?
Hi. Thanks for watching and subscribing. The total depth is 7”for the base and the mantel is 9”.
Hi, great job! I'm looking to install one of these in my living room area, but concerned about shared breaker in the power panel; if running the heater. Are you running the heater function and if so, is it on a dedicated breaker from the other outlets? Thanks.
I was concerned about the same thing, but we haven’t had any issues running everything through the standard outlets. We do not have a dedicated breaker and haven’t tripped it once.
Thank you
Thanks for watching
Hi thanks for the video im going to do this myself and bought everything. Can you please advise every tool you used and how long are the 2x4 on the bottom and on the sides. The shorter pieces. The tool im referring too is the two blue tools that helped level where the mantel is
Thanks for watching. The tools I used are as follows : blue painters tape, 3’ level, impact driver , drill , saw, oscillating saw, and painting supplies. For the depth of the fireplace I wanted it 6” from the wall in total.
Hope this helps. Good luck with your build
@@C_L_STEVENSON thank you
@@C_L_STEVENSON it helped a lot
Nice but I wonder why you did not finish off the base boards around the sides. Also the TV is now too high but what ever you did a great job.
I came back through and finished the base boards. I wasn’t sure if we wanted to keep the same style or change to a different look. The tv high works well for our application. Thanks for watching and the subscription.
Nice work, what size in inches is the fireplace if I may ask?
The fireplace insert is 40”
Looks great! Novice Question. I noticed that there was no taping of the side walls to the original wall. Is this unnecessary ? I don’t want to be left with any gaps. thanks ! Don
I kept the gap tight and used paintable caulk to fill the small gap. Hasn’t been a problem to date. Thanks for watching
@@C_L_STEVENSONthanks! May I also ask what the depth is? I’m planning on going 6-7” Appreciate you. Don
looks awesome! where is the fireplace insert from?
Thank you. We were watching the price on Amazon and picked it up when it dropped down to around $200 for a promotion. Here is the link. Thanks again

What did you use to make the fireplace flush with the wall? Thank you.
Thanks for watching. I initially was going to use corner brackets but opted to cut the drywall as flush as I could to the wall and use paintable caulking to seal the gap. It looks great and haven’t had any cracking or issues.
Was the frame secured to the floor? Or just secured it to the wall braces only since it’s a small section close to the wall?
Just the wall. It’s small enough that the studs hold the load with no issue. Thanks for watching and the subscription.
Why didn't you paint the the top? Beautifully done though.
Thank you. We kept it raw initially, but ended up stained the top a classic grey wash to match the floor. I should have done a video on staining the top 😬
Nice,missing baseboard corner
Thanks for watching
Great job and video!!!!!!!! but your killing my brain with the TV not being level.....Mine was like that and had to take everything off and fix.... I'm weird I guess.
I was able to get the tv level. Thanks for watching
LOL....Thank the Lord!!@@C_L_STEVENSON
Out of curiosity, how do you access the outlets? Do you have to pull the entire fireplace pit?
One of the outlets is exclusively for the fireplace. The other outlet has a fused extension cord running through the wall and mounted to the back of the television. If I need to get to the outlets I will need to remove the fireplace, which isn’t difficult.
Is there a list of everything used/needed? I’m doing this!
I didn’t make a list of items. I apologize
Do you have a link where to get the fireplace?
a.co/d/7XKSyng.
I need help building my fireplace, are you available
Check out Napoleon fireplaces, much better. Nice job though.
I will. Thanks for the input
@Stratoliner5 - I'm not criticizing at all. It's a great install, and I fully support those that DIY. I think this turned out amazing! I hope these folks create many amazing memories with it. That said, I have built one as well, but went with a 60" Napoleon unit. I simply offer up my 2 cents that's probably worth nothing.
Where did you put the cable box/media devices?
Hi. Thanks for watching. I do not have any boxes. But if I get some I the future I will mount them behind the tv.
Sir what is the brand of your fireplace thank you.
I have a link in the description. Thanks for subscribing and watching.
Where that fire box gets?????
I have added the link to the fireplace in the description. Thanks for watching
Do you have a blueprint? Also link to amazon fireplace
a.co/d/7XKSyng
I didn’t have any blueprints, just a rough sketch for the area. I will be doing another one in the master bedroom soon, I will have prints for that one. Thanks for watching.
Where does the heat comes out from?
It’s an electric heater. There are vents on the front that blow out the heat when it’s turned on.
How would you attach this to a wall with no studs? The wall is made of cinderblock
Not sure on that one
Were the 2x4s treated or untreated? They look untreated but my husband builds luxury chicken coops we have a ton of treated 2x4s outside in our stock pile that he’s already cut and I’m itching for a project 😂
Hello. The wood was all untreated due to being inside. Thanks
@@C_L_STEVENSON Thank you! I was going to grab untreated but I’m impatient which is why I asked 😂 Though I’d rather not have treated wood inside my house.
How much did this cost?
Roughly 250 for the fireplace insert , and about 100 in supplies. ( studs, paint, drywall, mantel)
What’s the first song name
Looks awesome. What did you use to the support/secure the back of the fireplace too?
Thank you. I encased the fireplace with 2x4 studs and drilled through the bottom and sides of the fireplace insert to keep it in place.
Is there no concern that it’s attached to a combustible material ?
I have had it installed about a year, no problems at all.
What’s your electric supply. I was told by a licensed electrician it needs a 20 amp circuit to be safe. 15 is no good even though it only draws 12.5 amps
What are the specs?
Roughly 8” x 32x 48
That power wire through the wall for the tv is a code violation
Good catch. On it. Next video will be installing an outlet. Thank you
What if it has an access panel?
