This ruclips.net/user/postUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo unit was an easy install and turned out amazing. The dimensions were exact! I took a chance and built the wall prior to receiving the unit which arrived sooner than expected and it fit right in the space I constructed. The heat output is perfect for the space we needed and made the room exactly how we envisioned it to turn out. I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Thank you for the awesome product just in time for the holidays.
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ruclips.net/user/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
Simple is the best way. I like that you did this with the least amount of tools possible. Sometimes DIY videos are full or expensive tools which can be discouraging to the average hobby builder. You did a great job man. Keep building!
I agree with you @danielmilam5890. I am still wondering what kind of tools we need. I am like a just born baby in terms of diy..can someone please suggest me what tools should I use..
I done watch a million contractors pages on how to build these thing and a lot of them where very confusing this by far the best video for someone that ain’t a contractor and to explain it to ppl that don’t know what they doing I wish more videos would be like this good job bud great f****. Job this video needs a million likes
I just built one using all of your steps, thank you! This video was very helpful. Mine is 86” wide with a 56” fireplace so I just made a few adjustments. Turned out great thanks to you! 👌🏻
Great job man, I am still trying to convince myself that I am capable of doing something like that... EDIT: I did it and the result was far beyond my expectation - so I thanks this video for being one of my inspirational's videos :)
Yeah, I had to do the same thing before I started thing project! So I know how you feel. haha but now that i have done it, it really isn't that hard. You got it!
I'm going to give it a shot too! Just make sure you have all of your supplies BEFORE you begin so you don't sit around waiting on things. But seems pretty straight forward. Good luck!
Thanks for telling us what you did, instead of just showing us it in fast motion, like so many others, unfortunately do. I hate it when they do that. I just move on, when they do that. It doesn't help me a bit. Great job!
This is exactly why I LOVE this video!!!!! Those other videos are so frustrating!! I needed to see every step to build the frame. This is fantastic and for the first time I feel like I can actually do this!!!
Great video and tips. I decided to use a similar concept to build my electric heater wall, in which I also built in shelves. Currently, I’m debating on the choice of material to build the sleeves for shelving.
So im hoping to do this next week having never even picked up a power tool before it should he fun lol this is the best tutorial ive saw by far and believe me i watched lots
Thank you for posting valuable steps on how to EASILY build this been watching RUclips videos to find one that I can easily follow and so glad I found you youre great and I will be using your video to build my tv fireplace wall thanks again 👍🏻
One does not simply apologize for vertical video recording. Heh, great video. We have one I have just externally mounted. I want to frame it into the actual wall though. May just do this though, but drywall or wainscote it. Thanks again!
Going to build a similar one this weekend! Only thing I would do different is add a mounting plate for the TV so you dont have to hit the studs directly
Old video but hopeful for a response. Thank you for breaking this down for us. Question, is there any way to access the fireplace in case it malfunctions / needs to be replaced? Or would you have to pull the trim and siding off to get to it?
Thanks for the video, I`m grateful that you used terms that I can understand, as I`m not the handiest guy. I would like to do something like this and after watching your video, I`m confident that I can do this
Nice job, well done bro. I wish wood was as cheap here in Scotland as it is over there, we get robbed by all the "DIY Stores" And "The Builders Merchants" !!!!!
Very quick question.. there is a little screw with the arrow to take off the glass. If you have the fireplace in place and shiplap installed how do you put that screw on once you put the glass back on? Or do you just eliminate this screw and the glass just sits in place, or do you put the screw back, then install the fireplace and when you slide the glass on does it some how 'hook' on to that screw securing it? If you can let me know that would be great. Thanks
Good job. My wife wants to do ours in ship lap. I was thinking drywall with crown molding at the top. Would be good for an hidden access panel or flush panel to gain access to that hidden outlet. Looking to put ours in our bedroom.
nice music man and thanks for the easy step by step... to me it looks kinda easy to make an inset space for the TV, but maybe that would look weird??.. Seeing this project makes me want to add more to it!! thanks for sharing this video!
I would deff recomend leaving the fireplace exterior on the outside of the shiplap incase you need to unplug it or something its easier to remove and re install
Where did you put TV equipment? Trying to figure out where to hide cable box, wifi router, dvd player, etc... I have seen some people create an open box below the TV for these items, I think, they never show all of the equipment in it though. Great video and appreciate any feedback and help.
Yeah, i have seen other people add little compartments. I have a smart tv I don't have a need for any other tv equipment. It would be sweet to have a compartment space though just for random stuff. Sorry I can't help :/
Amazing job! It really adds a lot of dimension to the blank wall. This looks almost exactly like what I want for my new condo... can I hire you to build me one? 😂
Good job ! I’m plan to build one in our living home Fireplace already here 68 inches . 75 inches tv I don’t buy it yet . Can write the material if you don’t mind please Also should I use drywall or ciment board because I’m going to use airstone Thank you !
How much did you consider the electrical aspect of this? A 12.5 amp fireplace on a 15 amp circuit? You also have your TV, other TV accessories, lights and any other electronics you have plugged in to nearby outlets are all likely on the same circuit. Did you consider that on your calculation?
We are doing this right now. Thank you for the video! One place we are stuck is doing the Shiplap around the fireplace. We have the same one but we can figure out how to get the glass cover to go over the Shiplap to hide any imperfections. The Shiplap seems too thick to go between the frame and the back of the cover. Did you run into this problem? Thanks again!
Can you explain how you installed the TV mount? Did you drill directly into the shiplap and then into the studs behind them with long enough lag bolts?
I figured this out. I used this tutorial to build my frame - I had some seriouuus doubts with the integrity of the wall...but evenly distributing the load (with the new frame that was built) put my mind at ease.
Hello I’m currently on the process of building mine following your step. I just had a question. Did you use the same outlet that you plugged in your fireplace to wire the new outlet for the tv?
Great job , we appreciate all the details ; you explained everything including why you were doing things. If I was a new DIY person I would be able to build this today by watching your video. 🌟🌟 and Booo to the people who disliked the video.
Is your fireplace 6 feet wide? Said the back wall bords were 6 feet but when you put the insert in front frame appeared smaller. Trying to get dimensions to do this. Looks amazing!
I saw that you moved the outlet to the outer frame but how did you plug in your fireplace did you make a hole behind the TV and brought the plug out and then plug it into the outlet behind the TV
Are the wood/board supplies you provided online the precut sizes that I order/ask for or the sizes you purchased & still have to do the work of cutting at home?
How did you decide the fireplace size? I'm doing a 7ft wall as well and I ordered a 50" fireplace. too big? Was your decision budget driven or for aesthetics?
Omg I've been looking for a TV and fireplace combo! Nobody has one lol. Question...if I wanted to do a hidden TV. Would I just not build out the box at the top?
I did one with Stone. Stone was 500$ fireplace insert was 300$ wood like 100+ then I'm guessing i spent 1200. If u send me a email I'll send u progess pics
Is tearing out the carpet absolutely necessary for this build? I've been looking to follow your plans to build something similar in my new house. They already laid the carpet and I hate the idea of tearing brand new carpet out for this build.
Can you post the precut wood sizes? I want to build mines the exact same and I don’t want to have to use power tools I want to go in and ask for the exact cut sizes and follow your instructions on putting it together
Great build. I have the same fireplace and doing something similar but how did you secure the cover back after attaching the shiplap - isn't there a screw to secure the cover glass that becomes inaccessible after you place the shiplap?

Just finished this, and my wife is SO stoked! Thank you for sharing!
Simple is the best way. I like that you did this with the least amount of tools possible. Sometimes DIY videos are full or expensive tools which can be discouraging to the average hobby builder. You did a great job man. Keep building!
I am glad you liked it. I am new to DIYing so I don't have a lot of the fancy tools, so that makes me happy to hear you enjoyed the video :)
I agree with you @danielmilam5890. I am still wondering what kind of tools we need. I am like a just born baby in terms of diy..can someone please suggest me what tools should I use..

This is the best step by step explanation I’ve seen. We are planning on DIYing this in a few months.
Great job man, I am still trying to convince myself that I am capable of doing something like that...

Yeah, I had to do the same thing before I started thing project! So I know how you feel. haha but now that i have done it, it really isn't that hard. You got it!
Likewise. I’m going to make an attempt today!!
I'm going to give it a shot too! Just make sure you have all of your supplies BEFORE you begin so you don't sit around waiting on things. But seems pretty straight forward. Good luck!
love that you focused on your carpentry techniques. well do
Thanks for telling us what you did, instead of just showing us it in fast motion, like so many others, unfortunately do.
I’m about to do this exact thing…thank you for the great video!
Great video and tips. I decided to use a similar concept to build my electric heater wall, in which I also built in shelves. Currently, I’m debating on the choice of material to build the sleeves for shelving.
good job. with the fire place drawing over 12 amps I would strongly recommend using a plug on a dedicated circuit, not any plug in your house.
I like that hes not a pro and he just does his best awesome vid bro
One does not simply apologize for vertical video recording.
Heh, great video. We have one I have just externally mounted. I want to frame it into the actual wall though. May just do this though, but drywall or wainscote it. Thanks again!
Going to build a similar one this weekend! Only thing I would do different is add a mounting plate for the TV so you dont have to hit the studs directly
Thank you! My husband and I just finished ours. Wish I could add a photo. We love it.
Yeah, I wish you could post a photo here. I would love to see it! :)
I think you did a really good job! Slow and steady wins the race
This is awesome and simpler than I thought. I think I can handle this.
This is the BEST most descriptive and step by step videos on how to build the frame. Exactly what I needed! Thank you!!!!
I love it...AND knowing you did it ALONE is very helpful to know, because I REALLY want to attempt this on my own also. TFS
I would like to do something like this and after watching your video, I`m confident that I can do this
Wow for a for a simple handyman. You did a great great job. I love it.🎉🎉🎉
Awesome video. Glad I watched it before I tackle a similar build.
Will be using this as a guide for our basement fireplace! Thanks foe the video!
That is so cool to hear. That basement is going to look awesome.
Nice job, well done bro.
I wish wood was as cheap here in Scotland as it is over there, we get robbed by all the "DIY Stores" And "The Builders Merchants" !!!!!
Jan 2023 and this is helping me a lot. Thanks G
Great job,looks amazing
❤ i absolutely love this!!!! I am going to attempt it for my bedroom! Thanks for your video!
Awesome video man. Will help me a lot for this project
Thank you so much for your video! It looks amazing and gave us the confidence to do our own using your technique! It looks fantastic. Thanks again.
Very quick question.. there is a little screw with the arrow to take off the glass. Little pads behind the attaching screw hole make the insert stick out from the frame far enough for the glass frame attachment hole to be exposed.
Good job. My wife wants to do ours in ship lap. I was thinking drywall with crown molding at the top. Would be good for an hidden access panel or flush panel to gain access to that hidden outlet. Looking to put ours in our bedroom.
Looks great...we are going to do this in our new home we bought. Thinking of stacked stone, but I do love the ship lap.
Yeah, stacked stone would look awesome! If I do something like this again I think I will try stone.
Awesome DIY build!
nice music man and thanks for the easy step by step... to me it looks kinda easy to make an inset space for the TV, but maybe that would look weird??..
Seeing this project makes me want to add more to it!! thanks for sharing this video!
Thanks for the video instructions!
This was the PERFECT video! Thanks!
Love the detail explanation on how you built it. Thank you! Looks Great!!!
Yo this is like the best video ever! I feel like I can do this! You explained all the why’s and that is so helpful.
I would deff recomend leaving the fireplace exterior on the outside of the shiplap incase you need to unplug it or something its easier to remove and re install
Motivational, I plan to use your video to build mine. Great video
You make this look so easy! Thank you for all your advice!! Truly appreciate your tutorials!!
You are so nice! Thank you so much.
Good job fam!💯💪🏾
Looks wicked going to attempt this myself soon 🤞🏼hope it turns out like yours thx for the vid
Same here
Awesome! Best of luck :)
Great job. I am starting one very similar to yours as soon as my fireplace is delivered.
So exciting! Best of luck :)

@@HousetoHomeDIY i have a smart TV but is till need my cable box...?
Nice job I starting to do mine now a bit different but the same idea and was surfing to see if I can get some other ideas for it.
Awesome video, great build, super inspired, KEEP GOING!💪🏾
Great job! Looks awesome!
Love the look. Is there an option to run the fireplace without the heat on?
Very nice..great explanations throughout.
Wife saw this and now I'm building it 🤣.. great job on the video and it looks great.
Man this looks great. Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Amazing job! It really adds a lot of dimension to the blank wall. This looks almost exactly like what I want for my new condo... can I hire you to build me one? 😂
Wow, you did an amazing job! It's beautiful
Great job. Do you think it would be best to mount your TV and fireplace first then build around it.
That could probably work. :)
Just built mine on our covered patio, thanks so much for the video! Came out really awesome. Just waiting on mantle to arrive to attach it!
Oh that would look so good on a covered patio! So cool!
Good job !
I’m plan to build one in our living home
Fireplace already here 68 inches .
75 inches tv I don’t buy it yet .
Can write the material if you don’t mind please
Also should I use drywall or ciment board because I’m going to use airstone
Thank you !
Absolutely awesome ! Great vidieo!

Good job man! Keep going
Looks great but when you build the side walls you don’t need to use brad nails and screws.just screws will work 3 inch or bigger will work too
Love this! Can you post the tools you used and the materials needed for the frame? Thank you in advance!
When doing this with the Billy bookcases at each side which is best to put in place first? The bookcases or fire section?
Very well done
Great job. My hubby and I hope to attempt this soon☺️
This looks great man good job 👍
Good Job. Did you make another video for mantel installation or not yet.
How much did the wall cost you? Curious....it looks great!

What did you use for the trim on the back side? I see you used PVC for the front corners but what about the back on the wall?
Is your fireplace 6 feet wide? Said the back wall bords were 6 feet but when you put the insert in front frame appeared smaller. Trying to get dimensions to do this. Looks amazing!
I saw that you moved the outlet to the outer frame but how did you plug in your fireplace did you make a hole behind the TV and brought the plug out and then plug it into the outlet behind the TV
AWSOME job.
Are the wood/board supplies you provided online the precut sizes that I order/ask for or the sizes you purchased & still have to do the work of cutting at home?
Thanks so much for this video. I've started mine today. Hot high did you set the mantle and the base of your tv?
Yes!! Would love to know this as well.
If you scroll to the bottom of this page I have all the dimensions for that. :) housetohomediy.com/diy-electric-fireplace/
How did you decide the fireplace size? I'm doing a 7ft wall as well and I ordered a 50" fireplace. too big? Was your decision budget driven or for aesthetics?
Nice job,I'm going to do it myself too, thanks for the video
That is so awesome! Hopefully the video helps :)
Great job you well explain on how due. Ty sir . give point you add back surge pertecter . great jo. Ideal ty
so no concern that framing and enclosing around the fireplace will require complete demo if the fireplace needs to be replaced or worked on?
Great job man! We are going to start this today
Awesome. Best of luck :)
Awesome job !!
Can you tell me how many inches from the ground to bottom of mantel and also the TV?
I was really hoping that he had answered this question.
install the support of the tv on top of the shiplap or did you cut that space?
Thank you! Hope I can replicate something like this!
Best of luck :)
Sir you did great job well explain ty
Omg I've been looking for a TV and fireplace combo! Nobody has one lol. Question...if I wanted to do a hidden TV. Would I just not build out the box at the top?
Yep and add electric outlet
I have some silly questions.. where do you put your cable boxes and stuff like that? And how much would you say this whole project cost you?
I’m curious what did this project cost? It looks amazing 🤩

I need that. Wonderful
Looks great but I am in New Zealand and unfamiliar with our terminology, What is a 'Brad' tool please? Thanks
Love the look of this! What are the dimensions?
great video! just want to know what the depth of this is (to accommodate the fireplace insert and TV)?
Can you post the precut wood sizes? I want to build mines the exact same and I don’t want to have to use power tools I want to go in and ask for the exact cut sizes and follow your instructions on putting it together
Great build. I have the same fireplace and doing something similar but how did you secure the cover back after attaching the shiplap - isn't there a screw to secure the cover glass that becomes inaccessible after you place the shiplap?
Same question!
