  • In this tutorial I'll show you how to craft a DIY Czech Hedgehog tank trap from cardboard. It's a fast and easy piece of terrain that you can do in less than a hour - and a lot of that is drying time - so you could make a good handful of these in an evening. In the guide I'll also show you how to make a rust texture paint for the tank traps.
I've played a couple of games of Warhammer 40.000 with tank traps on the board. They're good for restricting roads and pathways, which adds some nice variation to the battlefield.
The house rules we’ve made is that the tank traps are impassable for vehicles, but not for infantry, who can pass through them and use them as light cover.
    Happy crafting! :-)

I am working on a D-Day themed one-shot RPG adventure, and these tank traps will be perfect scatter terrain for the Normandy Landing segment!

I made mine beams from ice cream popsicles. They were harder to cut, but there are much more sturdyer.
Also, I blackbombed them, than a heavy drybrush with rust, and a light drybrush finish with leadbelcher.

Popsicle sticks, that's a good idea. Hadn't thought of that. :-)

Really useful thx keep it goin
I didnt remember the first time but some paints might react with baking soda so fine sand should be safer
