Long, full ruffled petticoats are hard to find, and those that are available are usually either really expensive or not full enough so I have to buy 2 or 3 of them. This method of lengthening knee-length petticoats makes a full, fluffy, swirly petticoat. You can adapt the length and amount of ruffles that you use to suit the dress or skirt that you're making it to go with.
The second layer bigger with 2 inches you mean after dividing the circle to 4 I will add 2 inches so it will be 15,75 or i will add it to the circle 57 /4 = 14,25 Sorry if I confused you 😂😂😂
what was the last step for the layer that had an extra two inches? what is the effect of it and where does it get stitched to? how did it get the fuller look?
I made a second layer in exactly the way that I made the first layer and attached it to the outside layer of the waistband (the first layer attached right side together with the inside of the waistband I'd saved from cutting up the original petticoats, the second right sides together with the outside). Adding the second layer doubled the amount of fullness at the bottom. Hope that helps. Happy sewing 😃
It was about knee length, but it doesn't really matter what length petticoat you start with as you can adjust the length of the top part when you cut it to make the finished length that you need.
6:00 If you didn’t want to do trial and error to find the exact length from the corner to create the circle the right circumference you could use algebra to work backwards and find the radius. Pi r squared is the formula to find the circumference so if you divide the circumference by Pi then square root that number your left with r which stands for radius witch is the length from the corner.

How many meters for the tull for skirt
Hi Vicky! Do you have a link to where I could purchase the petticoats you used in the video? There's always so many to choose from online!
Google Hell Bunny petticoats. That's the brand I tend to use the most as they're really full and fluffy.

So might be a stupid question, but how did you find the circumference of the bottom of the petticoat?
Roughly, how many yards of the tulle?
Nice madam nice
Thank you 🙂
What changes will I need to make if I’m taller? I’m 5’9 and don’t want to have a dress too short

The outside layer just needs to be 2 inches longer than the inside layer so that they hang to the same length at the hem 🙂

How many final layers required plz reply
I used 2 layers, but you can use as many as you need to to get the fullness you need.
