  • This video is a step-by-step tutorial to help you make your own frill tulle skirt, inspired by Dior's tulle skirt.
    When I saw the tulle skirts with many tiers of frills from Dior's collections in 2017 and 2018, I instantly fell in love with it 💖 So, I tested various combination of ratios for the frill, and decided to share my result with you, so you can make your own :)
    I named it Petal Tulle Skirt, because I felt like sewing hundreds of flower petals together while making it. I hope you enjoy it as well.
    So, here it is: a mini tutorial of how to recreate Dior's tulle skirt with frills💖

    I wish you would post part of the vid on how you attach a zipper, and also your skirt tutorials would be great with pockets.

      Hi A.J, you're on the roll for amazing suggestions! :) I always admire skirt designs with pockets, for sure. The only reason why I couldn't add one to this was just me being a novice enthusiast; I looked into pockets tutorial, and they were quite complicated for my level at the point I made this. But I'd love to learn it myself and share the best ways I found :)✨

    Wait im still confused how would i figure out how much tulle needed for each layer like width wise because you need more than the original circumference?

    • @hyegineer
      @hyegineer  9 месяцев назад +1

      It depends on your waist radius. Here's how to calculate the total length of the frills:
      1. Calculate how many tiers you'd need by dividing the desired length of your skirt by 2 inches.
      2. Calculate each tier's finished length; 1st tier would be π*r, 2nd tier would be π*(r+2 inches), 3rd tier would be π*(r+4 inches),... nth tier would be π*(r+(2*(n-1) inches)).
      3. Add all of the finished length measurements of step 2, and multiply it by 4.

    How long should the frills be?

    • @hyegineer

      It depends on your waist radius, so I can't give out the specific number. Here's how to calculate the total length of the frills:

      2. Calculate each tier's finished length; 1st tier would be π*r, 2nd tier would be π*(r+2 inches), 3rd tier would be π*(r+4 inches),... nth tier would be π*(r+(2*(n-1) inches)).
