    I am one of those weird ppl loving 1/48 armor kits so much. I wish there would be more of them.

      I am too. While I was finishing graduate school I had a relatively small apartment so 48th scale was nice because they did not take up so much room. Now im just keeping with it so my models are all in scale. Can't wait for this kit

    Another great build. This channel deserves more subscribers. Tamiya 48th scale armor reminds me of my childhood, when I used to build their old, motorized mini tanks series with my dad. We chose that scale since those were basically all we could afford. Well done, sir. I've always enjoyed your videos. Stay safe, stay healthy, and I hope that someday I will have the honor to meet you in person.

    Back in the 60's and early 70's I built scale tank models often. I don't remember EVER having to build tracks. They always seemed to be rubber band style. When did this change? I built many Tamiya kits. Many of them were also motorized.

    I'm working on an older Tamiya 1:48 scale tank, and there the 'extra weight' comes from a metal bathtub style hull. I'm not sure why the weight is needed, unless you want to use the model as a paperweight.

    That must be a very good tank crew to be able to keep that tank in the fight long enough to look like that! It looks great but my impression of the eastern front is that life expectancy for a tank and crew is measured in days.

    Your build as ever is faultless. When are you going to introduce figures to your models - ? I shied away from figures for a long time, but now I always put them in, sometimes aftermarket ones as I feel that they bring the model to life and give it an extra dimension.

    The "Toy" like look kept me away from the smaller scales.... but this kit looks good. maybe I'll do a 1/48 kit. I'd like to see Tamiya up-grade their 1/35 T 34s. I would particularly like to see a STZ T34. I like the clear parts on their newest KV 1. .. even the figures goggles. Thanks for the review.

    • @SCM223
      @SCM223 4 года назад

      There are hundreds of videos on RUclips showing different methods of assembly. Rubber band tracks will never have the detail of individual or link and length. Thankfully most manufacturers have begun steering away from the rubber type.

    • @spinster4000
      @spinster4000 4 года назад +2

      @@SCM223 Im just not a fan of them, i recently built a revell 2a5 in 1/72 scale (it was a birthday present) and once I put on the tracks and started to bend them around the wheels they just snapped. Maybe this was just for this model but ive had many of other plastic tracks do the same.

    • @SCM223
      @SCM223 4 года назад

      @@spinster4000 I hear ya, I had the same problem with the Revell 1/72 M2. Had to keep applying cement until they softened enough to conform. I'll readily admit those aren't great. To each their own but I'd encourage you to give 'em another shot.

      @@SCM223 yah im going to, my recent purchase was an Italeri M1A1 Abrams and in the kit they have plastic tracks with a bunch of links, so im giving it a shot, but i do prefer rubber, the ease of use is mind blowing and lets me focus on much more fun parts of the build

    • @davidgibb9910
      @davidgibb9910 4 года назад

      Totally agree, maybe there should be different options with both rubber and plastic individual tracks, might add to the cost but to me personally, if manufacturers go totally to plastic then as my eyes (fat fingers as well😊) get worse, I afraid I might have stop modelling
