Past damn Blockbuster employee they ever had the stores are gone but Ryan's still working there... For us, sifting through the pile of junk to bring us all our favorite Screen Rant(s). Does that fume work for weed? Sorry to squeeze that in but I wanted to ask.
Im going to say this for us all. Tobey's Spider-Man 4 is a tandem, simultaneous blockbuster with Tom's Spider-Man: I'll Have What She's Having. Rami is fresh off the multiverse - I want to pay off Rami's story, a standalone biopic, by turning that into an opposite lens narrative for SM:IHWSH.
Considering we already have Spider-dad in the comics. It's only right that he becomes a dad in the movie. He deserves a happy ending with all the stuff he suffered in 3 movies
If Sam Raimi just confirmed this Spider-Man 4 would be absolutely epic if they do it correctly Tobey Maguire is at the perfect age to do aged Peter Parker just like Michael Keaton did old Batman
I mean, Keaton was 41 when he played Batman for the second time in Batman Returns. Tobey is 49, so he'll be a little closer in age to Batman Returns Keaton than how old he was upon returning in The Flash (but I did LOVE Keaton's performance in that too)
I watched the tobey Spider-Man movies when I was nine it was the first movie I ever watched in theatres I was heartbroken when they canceled it so if it ever comes back it will be a lifelong dream come true
And there it is. It's why all the late 20s to early 30 year olds revere Raimi camp Spider-Man movies. I was 20 when Spider-Man came out. I'll never forget how disappointed I was when the freaking Evil Dead director was brought in as director. I was right in my skeptiscm. However, I understand at least when people say they like the camp approach. I think it's God awful but when people admit it's camp and they say that's why they like it, I respect that. Most people just call Spider-Man 2 the best comic book movie because of member berries.
Movies I want. Underworld 6 with Scott Speedman and Kate Beckinsale. Teen Titans movie. Being its own thing like the 2003 show. Spider-Man 4 with Tobey Maguire. The Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Andrew Garfield. Because I think he deserves more love. He was great in No Way Home. Bringing the most emotions. But I would love to see another solo movie with him. Him getting a new love interest. Maybe Black Cat 🐈⬛. Those are the movies I want most in my life. 2 of them are Spider-Man movies.
Love this! Thank you for going over this amazing topic. Colton Please do a follow-up and host a similar type of table talk on Amazing Spider-Man 3!!! Thank you again
Colton, you missed a golden opportunity when you introduced Ryan. As part of that introduction, you should have said, "He's the guy eternally trapped in a video store, but he doesn't know it, so please don't tell him." By the way, I really enjoyed what you had to say at the meetup in Brooklyn. I didn't get to ask you, though, what kind of candy was made at that factory?
Yes that last movie was not great. Spider-Man 3 is bad but it’s way more entertaining than 2. He’s not a joke but I don’t think his movie would perform well.
I love Ryan’s Idea of adapting, the spider girl, from the M2 books. Mayday Parker was an amazing character and deserves a refresh. I also love Colton‘s idea about paying off the lizard storyline, but I also think that could be semi-adapted from Michael J Straczynski‘s great work when Peter became a science teacher at his old high school, and showing how his scientific mind Helps with his superhero mind so just merge the two stories together and I’d be first in line for a Raimy Spider-Man 4.
13:22 Yeah, I agree that distinction is important. But I think you guys are missing the point here: they haven't squandered anything because they're in a win win situation - at least in the short term. Sony couldn't literally give a shit what the box office results are, because they're making twice whatever that might be in their partnership with Marvel. They don't have to make good movies, they just have to make movies to maintain ownership of the character. I guess I technically agree with you, in that they COULD have made good movies instead of (in my opinion, pretty God damned obvious) flops, but I don't ever really hear anyone talking about the fact that Sony is no different than a RUclipsr when it comes to Spider-Man: they only need to put out CONTENT; Nobody ever said anything at all about GOOD content. Thanks everybody, for coming to my TED talk
9:32 Every version of Spider-Man had something great that made the swinging and movement unique. Andrew’s Spider-Man moved more like a Spider especially when he was fighting the Lizard at the school. Tobey’s was acrobatic bringing classic Spider-Man to life. Tom’s was tech heavy and it wasn’t until the close of the final fight in FFH that he started giving off animated series Ultimate Spider-man and Insomniac vibes in NWH
I'd have to agree after seeing Spider-Man 2 it was the greatest comic book movie ever made at that time they could have gone so many directions with it then came Iron Man
Idk how I feel about that, i like Tobey and his Spiderman series, but his character is a very different version of Peter Parker. The dynamic between mentor Peter and Miles in ITSV and ATSV was so good and idk if Tobeys Spiderman could do that Peter role. I'm probably overthinking it and they'll just change the dynamic which could make it all work out.
I think it should take place solely in his universe, a standalone flick where Bruce Campbells mysterio uses the fact that Spider-Man went to an alternate universe to his advantage, or Peter uses his new knowledge from another universe to accidentally make the Lizard
No.... Mcu really messed up with spiderman that they literally made the biggest hero an underdog to someone who wasn't anything outside of movies. Ironman should just be Ironman. Why do we think spiderman should be a replacement when he is the biggest superhero in the world. At this point leave spiderman out of mcu
3:04 Sony makes the Spider-Man movies and gets approval from Marvel for it to fit in the MCU. ALL Spider-Man films are fully Sony films. Marvel simply gives notes, some support, and approval for MCU connections/characters. Sony makes all film profits from all those Spider-Man films (because they are fully their films), but Marvel gets 100% of the merchandise rights (to those three Tom Holland films) per the deal they made to have Tom Holland Spider-Man be part of the MCU.
I think Spider-Girl is probably the best idea. I'd eliminate the time travel element though. By the time this movie comes out it would probably be 20 years since Spider-Man 3 and I could buy him and MJ being parents to a teenager by then organically.
16:29 Nooooo Disney Marvel will waste live action Spider-Man and social agenda the heck out of him. Sony is at least making an effort to give audiences the type of comic/action films they’d like to see
I think Sony is going to work with Marvel Studios to make Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man 4 so they can get him ready and set him up for his future appearance in the MCU'S Avengers: Secret Wars!
Spiderman 4 with tobey raising and teaching MAY day to be spider girl would be the way to go 1000% . BUT I DONT WANT Tobey TO Get INJURED HE CAN JUST Fight CRIME With HIS DAUGHTER AND THEN EVENTUALLY RETIRE
The pickle of two simultaneous Spider-Man 4s to happen is bonkers, in tandem. Rami is fresh off a Multiverse movie - and Tobey acknowledged space aliens - I see this movie connecting Mecha to Molecular - he can get them to Secret Wars by teaming Spider-Man with Sandman and Doc Connors against The Smythes. Rami - makes Mecha to Molecular, finds The Ion Zone; what if Sandman and Lizard(or Doc) were turned into Dual Mr Negatives!? And the only way to win this is they ionically refuse them, to become The Molecule Man!? Whilst Tom's movie connects A plot, The Assembled Young Avengers, to B plot The Future Foundation. A [Black Spider suit is upgraded by this team] B [Upgraded Black Spider turns cosmic]. I see Kevin Feige (and K.E.V.I.N) split the story line, connecting Biogenetic stasis to Biocosmic technology(space magic). Why is Gamora? Tom Holland - makes biogenetics into biotechnology, the next process of nanotech. His first mission is to rescue an altered state-of-mind Jonah before he makes symbiote spider slayers, he gets wrecked by Kamala Khan and Team. But The Smythes, again, but this time using Ionic Reactors and this Symbiote find the same Ion Zone and then, shoot let's go for it, Tom Flash and Symbiote become Dual Mr SymbioteNegative. Flash and Peter see into The HiveMind through the lens of The Ion Zone and see Tobey's Peter defeating Dual Mr Negative by turning him into The Molecule Man. It is revealed Tobey had one strand of symbiote dna left in him and it is still relaying data. Im then thinking Symbiote keeps Flash, kicks out SM, and absorbs Allistair Smythe. Spider-Man, Jonah, The Young Avengers ionically fuse these Symbiote Mr Negatives but at the last opportunity Flash gets out of the process. Symbiote and Allistair fuse making Molecule Man\\ an unstable Molecule Man. .... dum dum dum.. Dr Doom.

I think it’d be cool since Norman was saved in NWH, if the SM4 movie featured him as a reformed father figure for an older Peter, plus without the fallout and loss of Norman, Harry would still be around and most likely remain Peter’s friend. A sort of “reset” with new villains. Hell, by that measure, Otto is still Peter’s BFF.

16:03 This is why I hate fan casting with the idea of brining back old actors to reprise their roles. People say they wanted the DCEU to use Grant Gustin when Ezra Miller was already established. If they told a story that would allow that, then sure, but you can't just do a random ass movie with Tom Welling, Grant Gustin, and David Mazouz, expecting people to not wonder if it's Smallville, Arrowverse, or Gordonverse (I made that up).

We still haven’t seen a great rhino or scorpion take in live action, so it could be fun to do them for sm4. I’d include Kraven in that list because he could really lean into Raimi’s campiness but they’ve already got his solo movie coming so it’s very unlikely he’d turn around and be a Raimi villain
I thought more people were interested in another Andrew Garfield Spiderman film, and that he would probably be more likely to do another movie than Maguire, who is pretty much retired from acting.
The TASM bandwagoners are another breed dude, I stfg. Not once did Tobey say he is retired from acting. Wasn’t he just in a new movie this past year? TASM trend followers will make up anything it’s so weird
Since Sony is re-releasing all of the Spider-Man films in theaters this summer, that could be the final push to announce Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4. I also think Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 would be the easiest story to tell as all they would have to do is just pick up their pieces of the effects of Doctor Strange's final spell in No Way Home and all of that could be wrapped up in the first act. I will say if the Lizard is going to be the main antagonist, then it would make the best sense to acknowledge that Norman's choice to bomb Quest Aerospace resulted in Curt Conners losing his arm. "Captain Curtis is our top pilot." So, Curtis seeing Norman again might be the true trigger to become the Lizard.
6:39 I think Tobey’s Parker is likely married with children and was just being selective with his words so as not to over reveal & influence the personal lives of the other Peters too much and externally not to make anything definitive should another film opportunity arise.
I need this so bad, Toby was my spider-man growing up. Feel like his story was never finished properly. I dont understand why they didnt make any more movies they were so good
I figured it out. Maybe people have said this but here is my expert take. The problem with Sony and MCU is they act like no one knows anything. When really I’m 39 and my Madame web is 90s cartoon madame web. Who is the audience? Me and my child 7 year old daughter I’m currently indoctrinating through 90s xmen and Spider-Man cartoons. Watching Spider-Man secret wars with her tonight, she’s like dad who’s the stretchy guy? I’m like that’s Mr fantastic and that’s the fantastic 4 she’s like that girl is cool, I’m like ya. She’s like ok why is there 2 storms, I’m like here’s why…. Boom Just make rad movies, Spider-Man 90s cartoon didn’t give a fuxk about what you read. And we loved it. I’m tired of origins just blast us with whatever go deep. Figure it out and suck it up if you don’t know. They need to start going as hard as my 90s cartoons did. Expert opinion.
I think another idea to focus in on in a 4th Spider Man movie is Peter's age. They were thinking of the Vulture as a possible villain way back in the day and I think him being involved would be important. Not the Keaton one necessarily but more from the comics. In the comics he is always using different means to make himself younger... healthier... etc. The temptation of an aging Spider-Man to use something like that could add depth... especially if someone like his daughter was out there fighting for her life.

Colton running an episode hits the spot but I miss Ryan already lol
Here's a bit of advice for everyone when it comes to Spider-Man he is always holding back
This guy looks like he just rolled out of bed and suddenly decided to record a video in his bedroom...
It's actually your mom's bedroom.
It's the messy, uneven hair isn't it? There seems to be a section that spouts right from his forehead
@ColtonHere Mom jokes are the only comeback you ever have. But I hope you enjoyed your time with my dead mother.
@@TheTotalRecapthe f 😂😂😂😂
I mean yeah cause he lives in the Tv, he has no access to the facilities we do
4:18 IDK the MCU has been dropping the ball heavily since Now Way Home
Yes pls! Do Spider-Man 4
6:39 I think Tobey’s Parker is likely married with children and was just being selective with his words so as not to over reveal & influence the personal lives of the other Peters too much and externally not to make anything definitive should another film opportunity arise.
Andrew should get another film where he meets his universes MJ
😂😂 the mis _steps_ of Spider-Man 3 while showing _that_ scene. 😂😂
Brian looks like the guy from office space trapped inside Colton's radio
Mr Sunday Movies vid on the Spidey 4 we didnt get, is such a good overview of the whole thing
Three spider-men and a baby. (Love the "YOU LIKE THE CRANE SCENE?!?!")
I need this so bad, Toby was my spider-man growing up. Feel like his story was never finished properly. I dont understand why they didnt make any more movies they were so good
I love dogs but I'm so glad that the dog didnt interrupt as usual.
9:41 Ryan is so funny bro 🤣🤣🤣
Great video!
Spider-man 4 would be the only marvel movie i'd actually be excited to see.
I would love Spiderman 4 to adapt the Last Stand Arc.
That would be dope
I would love to see a Spider man 4, that is my childhood full circle.
Good video ❤
Thank you!
Boom
Just make rad movies, Spider-Man 90s cartoon didn’t give a fuxk about what you read. And we loved it.
I’m tired of origins just blast us with whatever go deep. Figure it out and suck it up if you don’t know.
They need to start going as hard as my 90s cartoons did.
Expert opinion.
It’s over spider carnage!
They should make TASM 3, too. Then, also introduce the Miles Morales live action character in Tobeys universe!
Love any content where Colton is hosting.
Thanks so much!
@@TheTotalRecap you're quite welcome. Thanks for all you do. I got hooked on this channel because of Ryan, but the episodes you write are endlessly interesting and entertaining to me. 🙌
Colton did great 👍🏽
What’s up Colton, shouts out
Yo yo yo
The writing, story, character development has to be there too.
