Yes but I think Sam rami should also work with Jon favreau and the russo brothers to direct and write secret wars

No. We don't need old people with old ideas making new marvel movies. I love Rami, but Marvel needs to be innovative and stop rehashing and relying on old tricks. Marvel sucks because it keeps doing the same old thing. We've had over twenty years of Marvel movies, it's getting stale.

I completely agree with Colton about the Russo Brothers. As much as I love Sam Raimi films, Colton is right about multiple actors. Look at Spider-Man III.

To be fair, Spider-Man 3 being crammed with characters wasn't really Sam Raimi's fault. It was the studio interfering with his movie and forcing these characters and storylines in. That being said I think either the Russo Brothers or Favreau would be a safe and smart decision for Secret Wars.

The Russos are the ones who need to do secret wars
If they good the actual good secret wars(Jonathan Hickman) it’s more of a game of thrones/lord of the rings than say endgame

The Russos are the best for Secret Wars for sure. They are much bigger and want more than Marvel is willing to pay they like to be cheap on editors and CGI folks, same as Directors and Producers cheap as they can . They still think people line up to work on their films.

IMAGINE THIS...the screen is black with purple and Orange logo that says "Avengers :Kang Dynasty" and then the "ang" begins to fade as the "K" morphs into an "X" so it becomes a blue and gold "Avengers: The X Dynasty"
They gotta do something. If they don’t recast Sterling K Brown to be Kang, then he’s my number 1 pick for Mr Sinister.

I wish Mavel would have the equivalent of 4 show runners that would talk to one another to make sure storylines would line up. The Russo bro’s would be in charge of big event team ups. Raimi or Guillermo would be in charge of darker/monster side ie Blade,Ghost Rider,Werewolf,Moon Knight,Strange with them coming together for a Midnight Sons team up. Then a Cosmic and down to Earth side which I’m drawing a blank on who would run.
I agree with Colton. Although I’d like to see Raimi get another crack at Doctor Strange or other mystic characters like Ghost Rider, Wanda or The Midnight Suns. Tommy’s idea about the Monsterverse is great too but I think he’d be more interested in flexing his horror directorial skills in something like the Dark Universe
“It’s said that Sam rami didn’t see all of wanda vision and boy does that show” is totally taking the quote out of context. He goes on to say that Elizabeth Olsen (who had infact seen all of Wandavision obviously) stepped in and helped him make sure that Wanda’s arch was seen properly… the show ends with her being possessed by the darkhold which we know from strange’s death via blackbolt does in fact turn you evil. And despite all of this evil in the end she’s confronted with what a monster she’s become by seeing her children scared… how does that not pay off Wanda’s arch?

Yet I remember vividly the Russo brothers wanted to adapt this story. And ya know, they made (arguably) the best 2 MCU movies, so.....
They didnt make the guardians trilogy or the 1st avengers movie or the 1st iron man you guys really overrate the russos

@dariuschisholm7317 besides GOTG and ragnarok, it' has to be admitted that they made the best films, their first being winter soldier which is top tier, civil war and then infinity war. They might suck at any other genre but they understand superhero team ups

I think the snap damn near killing Thanos is lame and made no sense but instead of giving us great action and visuals and seeing how powerful the stones are they made it lame. The original MCU just had great casting all over the place but there aren't many movies I would even want to go back and watch.

Raimi would be my dream director for literally any movie. Multiverse of Madness was one of my favorites because of his directing.
His tone of films and shot style would not work for an mcu movie like this

Shawn Levy is a more likely candidate for being Avengers: Secret Wars director given that D&W leads up straight into that and Disney-Marvel are very happy with Levy's work on D&W.

I am curious why people think Multiverse of Madness ignored Wanda Vision. The final scene is her using the darkhold trying to find her children. How did continuity not line up with Multiverse of Madness?
Because it disregards everything else from that show it’s not justifiable to say a character changes into a psychopath after 1 scene that was added last min

I remember when The Kang Dynasty was initially announced Kevin Feige was asked about the Russo brothers returning and he said, "They don't want to direct it, they don't want to work with Marvel Studios until the end of the decade." Since the Russo brothers haven't had much success since Avengers Endgame and that the Secret Wars will be aimed around the end of the decade, I think this is a hand and glove fit. Marvel Studios hasn't been hitting all the marks since Endgame either, so really, I think Marvel Studios needs the Russo brothers and I think the Russo brothers need Marvel Studios.
They made the netflix movie extraction after and it was a hit, extraction 2 too

Episode 10 & 11 were dark but quite compelling. I enjoyed them both and looking forward to the remaining episodes.
If Sam Raimi does direct Secret Wars, it'll have pros and cons. Pro- he's familiar with Michael Waldron. Since Waldron is the head screenwriter for Avengers 5, he'll be Raimi's consultant about previous entries in the multiverse saga and the current stakes going into Secret Wars. Another pro is that he'll bring a nostalgic factor and give some characters bigger moments than others. Con - finding a balance between spectacle and storytelling. Admittedly, this responsibility weighs heavier on Waldron's writing prowess, but it's still going to be really difficult finding a true balance between a film and a fanfare.
I think with the release and expected success of Deadpool & wolverine things can really change up. Shawn levy might be the way to go with the input of previous mcu writers, directors, and producer

Give Dr Strange to Raimi. Let him make a more spooky/horror themed aspect for the marvel brand in the vein of Weird Tales or something. Raimi excels at spooky, and Sevret Wars is not a "spooky" story. Maybe it wouldnt be bad, but I say, let raimi work toward his strengths.

I literally re-watched Multi verse of madness last night..... total agree with what your saying Ryan.
Raimi would SLAY with Secret Wars. If you’ve ever seen Army Of Darkness, you know he’s been capable of making you care about crazy “otherworldly” shenanigans and battles.
I think Scott Derrickson, like in the first movie, was also involved with the script and what the story would be, hence the creative differences whereas Reimi was not as involved with the story because, by replacing the previous team, the production of the movie was rushed and he was also not very familiar with the history of the MCU characters. He had freedom because he limited himself to directing leaving Waldron to develop the script.
For all this, I believe that the fact that MoM does not work does not discredit Reimi from directing Secret Wars.
Other than that, whoever directs the movie should be working on what the story will be and how the rest of movies of the MCU will lead to it like the Russo Brothers and Markus and McFeely did.

I don't think Secret Wars will have those Ben Affleck daredevil-type characters, but we will see Toby's Spiderman. If they didn't just announce the Fantastic Four and have done so much on the cosmic side, I would agree with the smaller scale of a movie. I also think Civil War was a response to Batman V Superman, whereas Secret Wars will be a statement on its own, not a response statement.

I think Raimi would bring an amazing sense of horror and surrealism to Secret Wars. Which you need to have when you have a cataclysm of exploding universes surrounding you and the disoriented arrival of superheroes having to fight each other. And let’s be honest, we need Ashley J. Williams as the referee!
I still am holding on to my theory that Loki will be in the movie as Avenger Prime to defeat the villain and bring all the survivors together in a new world and timeline.

I want the Brothers who did Infinity war and Endgame. They wanted this years ago and SHOULD. Rami needs to work on Ghost Rider etc etc...
If Raimi directs more he needs to do the supernatural wings of the mcu with Moonknight, Blade, Black knight, Elsa bloodstone, man-thing. We need his taste for horror in that element of the mcu.
Gotta keep in mind, when Deadpool is in titles that don't have Deadpool in the name, he kind of ruins whatever tone is trying to be set.
He can show up for a cameo, then break the fourth wall and tell us that he doesn’t want to ruin the tone of the movie.

Wanda going bad was kinda explained though because she was using the Darkhold. And she redeemed herself by the end to back to what we expected after Wanda Vision
How does Multiverse of Madness ignore Wandavision? That series ended with the newly crowned Scarlet Witch having just learned the use of runes and spells, heart-broken over the loss of her sons, studying the Darkhold. Why wouldn't she have gone that direction?
It made it seem like she had never experienced being a mother like her having what she wanted didn't come at a high price. So she let less than 3k people free of her mind control but destroying an entire universe isn't too steep a price?
First let me say how much I love my new Doug shirts! Awesomesauce. Second, I have been really apprehensive at the Sam idea, and I had to realize, it was because I do not like his visual style for the MCU. But that is MY preference and should not impact my thoughts on his ability to tell a great character story. The man is a master director, and I am sure if given the opportunity, he would create something extremely special....and VERY Sam Raimi.

Tbf MoM was filmed in the UK during lock down so i think he had more freedom this time around due to degrees of separation rather than marvel not wanting to interfere. MoM is really one of the true individual MCU films in recent years because of that. The good news is this gives him a lot of negotiation power if a deal is to be done. At the same time looking back to the Sony Leaks Raimi has a lot of reason to stay away from comic movies but because of the way the circumstances fell we might get a Raimi avengers movie? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

This would be a smart move by Feige to get a quality director that knows these types of movies and the MCU methodology. Likely Raimi is trying to get in with Feige to make that spiderman 4 movie which would be a great movie to make if the script is quality.

When I think about Raimi's style I feel like "claustraphobia" comes to mind. The camera, the shots, they feel "tight in" and that works great for character-specific movies (spider man, evil dead, et al) and horror movies, but for a large-scale, Avengers film... maybe not so much. I can't imagine for a second Raimi putting a shot like in End Game with the Portals, that's just not his style, in my opinion, its hard to see.
I think he'd be great in further single-character and either horror or weirdo films like MoM.
Plot twist, Raimi & the Russo Brothers will direct both movies. Raimi will direct the movie from the Fox universe perspective & the Russo Brothers from the MCU perspective so that each universe feels distinct & so Raimi can have a hand in killing off the Fox universe

The Big Three: Loki, Wanda and Tobey. Have other MCU characters part of their teams in the way nat and t'challa were with cap, guardians were with Thor, and doc and Spidey were with Tony.
At this point Rami is a safe pair of hands. Multi-verse of madness was quite good.
