To get the feel of it...
acetone.... its a helluva drug.
You were saying you were going overkill, but it was way underkill. There should have been a lot more sanding, a lot more prep, should have masked the window, then put cards under the trim where you could, should have glued the part where it seals to the window, back to the trim and sanded flush, should have never even left the store with that less than store brand quality paint and used a rubberized paint, should have sanded the metal with 300 grit, masked and primed it before starting color on the whole thing, there's a lot more you could have done, to make it last longer than a few weeks.
Right. And when that's all done, u could even clear it. Rattle clear for laquer or rattle 2k clear is used a lot now too. 5 mins. Now that might be overkill, but correct, everything else commented should at least.
Holy shut dude. He’s not going for professional. Not everyone even cares to do that especially on an older car. You’re doing too much it sounds like. All he wanted to do was remove the dry rotted stuff and paint it. Looks like he did just that.
I cant belive i watched this video 😵
Me too

I need your help badly. A month ago My 2008 Lexus RX 350 was in the body shop for some work and while it was only front end work the brilliant (not) owner decided to additionally paint my black plastic trim all the way around the base of my car. It did not need it since I take care of all the plastic trim. I was stunned he did it but it looked good for a minute. I decided to detail all but the front end of the car because it was newly painted. During my process before I used Gyeon Iron I masked off all the Black plastic trim with Blue tape. Well low and behold after I was done with iron removal I peeled off the blue tape which also removed some but not all of the flat black paint that had been sprayed on the trim. So my problem is that this is not just overspray and I want to remove it completely. What in the world do I use to remove this paint completely from the porous plastic? I know Citrol works for over spray but this is a coat of flat black spray paint that I want to remove.
I hope it’s something I can do. I don’t want to take it back and have this idiot remove the paint with the wrong product like paint thinner, etc. unless you tell me that’s okay to use. Love your channel
let me get my mask... and put it on my hand
Would paint stripper be easier and work better than peeling and sanding ?
What would you recommend for rust removal on stainless steel?
How bad we talking
I thought the title said how to paint correctly 🤔
Wow, really?? I am not one to comment negatively usually but bro.... this is so so wrong and so so bad in every way haha come on bro, really? That looks horrible!!
What is the piece called to order them?
Remove pinstripes
Much easier to just take the trim off. Also don’t start with such a thick coat
Trim actually isnt easy to take off. Especially on older cars because if you try to take it off and it breaks, you just broke a part off that is extremely hard to find anywhere else, even dealers dont have certain trims for certain cars
@@HondaS-fk1mi True, trim would be rusted on and any clips snap off like butter.
What are your thoughts on plastidip instead of just straight paint?
I used plasti dip on my 02 civic window molding, lasted about a year, and need to redo.
I just use electrical tape
Title is rather deceiving
You know it comes out really nice compared to the ripped off covering that they have in the coding that they keep on them
Dude is talking about prep work and spray painted his car from lack of prep work
Looks pretty bad lol, looked better just bare metal with no paint lol
Lol not too hard to remove the trim lol... why do people do this
🤦🏽♂️
Haha that’s how not to do ittt
How bout you show us the right way
Thanks for the video. Now I know to use flat black :)
Ahmed Maki you should use satan black
Mikkoo007 it is personal preference
@@mikkoo0076 Satan, as in satin. A wrong letter, here or there, can make a big difference in meaning!
Valid lol
I'd spend more time washing and waxing.
My 7 year old could do better
And he calls this a hack! 😂😂🤦🏻♂️
Looks shit to me
