Good to c u out hunting today. Your deer hunting is about like my bass fishing. Just can’t seem to go on the right day. Bad day hunting is better than a good day at work. God Bless. 🙏 Charlie.
I don’t do much commenting on videos, but felt like leaving you one. Be mighty hard for me to be a full time employee with a place like that Justin!!! haha….I love it. Keep em coming em coming!
Justin I know you are well versed hunter/gatherer but this video is a good testament to those that setting around all day saying they gone go hunt and fish when times get hard. they better watch and learn that it aint always a buffet and better prepare for themselves. good video brother. yall be blessed.
If we ever get in a real survival situation game will get scarce quick. I could have shot 3 deer this day but i covered a lot of ground too. There is days ive not seen anything
I figured when I saw that shotgun come out of the case that all them wood ducks would be in other parts! At least you got some meat. That red squirrel was neat! His folks must be Scotch Irish way back. Your boat sure do blend in mo betta since you painted it. It seems to be holdin up good so far, don't it?
Know what you mean about rambling. It don't matter how much you know that what's around the next bend is going to look just about like what you just passed, you just have got to see it anyways. It's in the blood. The older I get though, the easier it is to not pass up a good setting spot. Thanks for the video.
👍👍👍 Hope you pull off a succesful deer hunt. Glad i dont have to sit and attempt the traditional hunting style. Shot my first 3 this yr from the porch, they sure like the cattle tubs and fruit trees. I keep them fed,its only fair, they feed me.👍❤🙏👍
I looked at a creek and swamp up around Vernon Alabama just east of Columbus Mississippi . Thought about checking it out for Some Grinnel this spring watching you catch those got me wanting to catch one
This was the first time I saw hunting from a canoe. I like the hunting for both types of game. No deer but got 2 squirrel s congratulations. Canoe hunting looks fun.David Back.I know about Rabbit Shirt.
In my sixties now but when I was a teenager growing up in eastern NC all I had to hunt was squirrels. The county I was in had no deer season and I only had a small farm at my uncles where I could go. There were a good many rabbits and even quail but without dogs that kinda hunting wasn’t too sporty. We had a regional television show that came on early Saturday mornings, “The Southern Sportsman”. Franc White was the host and he mostly fished but he duck hunted some and showed outdoors stuff and always had a cooking segment. One show he went hunting squirrels in a canoe. I suspect it was Contentnea Creek near Wilson County but not sure. What I wouldn’t give to see that episode again. Anyways, your video brought back memories of that great episode from 45 years ago! Thanks for sharing your hunting adventure.
I used to watch Frank White and Caper all the time. I too am an eastern Carolinian. I have loads of hunting and fishing memories from there....and still making them, with my grandchildren now.
Yes it is something with the instructions especially when first instruction is to open package I guess they think we all ignert but I think we know the answer to that you like you had fun !
You made a comment about a Yankee Dime in this video. I asked everybody where I worked if they knew what a Yankee Dime was and NOBODY did. Same thing with a ground slide. I guess you gotta be a real COUNTRY boy to know about such.
Hope that wasn’t a fart😩😂I rewinded it about 5 times. My 11yr old heard it. Said, daddy, I think somebody farted on camera😂😂😂😂😂I said, I think he sneezed lol
That's a nice little creek and you'd think it would be full of roosting ducks or a few deer hanging out along its sides. What state are you hunting in??
@@SpiritoftheOutdoors I kind of thought you might. I live in Madison and I hunted all over the state when I was a young man. That little creek looks like heaven to me! Stay safe.
@@SpiritoftheOutdoors Interesting country. I fished the Pearl south of Ross Barnett when I was a kid and the bass fishing was amazing. I used to water ski way up north of Hwy 43 too. Be careful up there, lots of big gators.
Where you reading . Msdwfp site says all public land is no anlerless deer. Check the date on the page because i already had one sent to me and it was 2022-2023 season
The best way to hunt a place like that is to hunt it on foot on a rainy day in the middle of the week ! If you are tough and know how to hunt in the rain you will have very good luck.....my favorite way to hunt ! Still hunt in the rain ! I don't mean sprinkles.....you have no competition and you will be surprised at the game that moves ! They know no one is in the woods........except me ! 👍🫡
The swamp sure is low. Yeah you have to watch them rabbit sheriffs. They will for sure write you a ticket. Thanks for taking me along.

I'm right down the road where you are hunting.. I live in Montgomery, let's sit down for breakfast an a cup of gojo juice sometime..
Sounds good to me.
Great video, and a prime example of what my Granddad used to say… it’s called hunting not catching!
You remind me a lot of myself! Beautiful spot ya got there!
Need to get you some walkers game ears, look them up they sure help me with hearing
The leaves are too crunchy! I never sit hunting I walk around when the leaves are damp!
Yea its hard to sneak
Well no deers this round . But got some squirrels for the pot . Cant beat any time in Gods woods tho .
I’m 65 now and hunting/fishing from a canoe is still my happy place👍

If you want to increase the squirrel population all you need to do is put up houses for them to live in. I have over 60 of them in my woods.
Mind if I ask what kind of shotgun you got? It looks like the Winchester SXP I have.
It is a benelli nova
