I am one who appreciates a warm fire in a wood stove on a cool morning. That small potbelly stove reminds me of the one in Marshal Matt Dillon’s jail on Gunsmoke. Ol’ Chester Goode used to say.. “Shoot, you don’t make a cup of coffee, you build a pot. You don’t really get a good pot until you’ve been usin’ it about a week. Then it’s coffee.” So Justin… be sure to locate you a suitable coffee pot to keep on the top of that little potbelly stove. You’ll appreciate a good warm cup on those chilly mornings while working in your knife shop. Thanks for sharing the stovepipe install and building your first fire of the season. That stove is gonna be a nice addition to your new workspace. - Tennessee Smoky
Hey Justin! That stove will come in real handy come this Winter, once the wood is split small enough! Ol' Roscoe was fulfilling his duties of Job Supervisor/Buggy Co-Pilot. You, on the other hand, were the Buggy Pilot & Pile-It! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! (My apologies to Mr. Clower!) That was a GOOD DECISION on waiting for "Your Better Half", to return and undecorate the mantle. One can tell from that decision alone, that you are a Senior Member Of The International Brotherhood Of Married Men (IBOMM)! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
Our wood stove saves us around $300 a month, for 6 months! We have a long winter here in the Rocky Mountains! Making a fire every afternoon in my fireplace is very therapeutic! Plus,it's always an adventure to go cut, and process our firewood.
We use Stove Bright brand on our wood burning stove. That’s what the manufacturer recommended when we bought it. It’s about $22 a can but we just touch up ours at the beginning of each season and it lasts and looks nice.
