What's going on guys and welcome back to the channel! When looking at aspects of a coaster that make it a, good coaster, what things would you say make it so? Airtime? Laterals? Pacing? ... all potentially great parts of a ride, but what about smoothness? Arguably some of the best coasters out there are smooth ones, yet there's some enthusiasts (myself included), who would sometimes argue it's the roughness of a coaster that can make it all the better, weird as that sounds. Example: X2. That being said, there's just some attractions out there that I'm sure everyone in this community can agree on are just plain bad, and perhaps worst of these is one I'm bringing you all today with, you guessed it, a knock-off of a knock-off of a Vekoma SLC. Certain parts were so bad on this ride, areas of it were closed, re-profiled, and opened again, even worse than before. Valleying trains were more common than successful test runs as well, and overall it was just a disaster. With that said, now is the time you've all been waiting for. This is the story, of Century Amusement Park's, Suspended Looping Coaster Over Water.

I am so concerned just looking at that
Are you sure you want to completely demolish Compact Inverted Coaster 1?
An SLC looks good right about now
Search on RUclips the video called "the track is NOT smooth" it shows one of these Chinese knock offs in full action.
Never thought I would say this, but Mind Eraser looks pretty damn smooth right about now.
The color scheme of the one if them looks like the Darien lake and elitch gardens mind erasers
I would say the same
They clearly designed it from roller coaster tycoon.
Or no limits 2, but forgot to depump the verticies 😂
I'm not going on Compact Inverted Coaster 1. I isn't safe.
I'm not paying that much for an on-ride photo from Compact Inverted Coaster 1.
Hahahah this made me chuckle lol :) 💚💚
No more like planet coaster
That element looks like a five year old reprofiled it using some goofy software made by some shady guy 20 years ago.
The RCT joke doesn't even apply to this. They designed this with an etch-a-sketch.
LMAO
or from tinker toys
"Suspended Looping Coaster Over Water" not to be confused by its predecessors "Suspended Looping Coaster On Land", "Suspended Looping Coaster On Top Of Grass", and "Suspended Looping Coaster Near By A Lake".
Having the original SLC at my homepark, I can only imagine how painful thisone must be.
Walibi Holland?
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 yis
It's a great Home Park, always a fun visit.
But imagine riding this
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 It was either that or T3 at Kentucky Kingdom (1995, first American-located 662m prototype SLC). Unlike Condor, its closed lol.
But there was a good reason it closed honestly.
This coaster should get called "My First No Limits Coaster"
Loved this one too fella...Keep the oddities and other goodies comin! 💯👍🙏
most companies "reprofiling": engineer new track by the numbers, build the new track, ship it off and have the old track swapped out
this company "reprofiling": cut out 5 feet of track and weld the remainding track back together
ouch
Even worse is the fact that it lost all speed after all the inversions and the final helix and turns were taken at a snail's pace... well, maybe that's a GOOD thing.
"Suspended looping coaster over water" is fun to say
I don't think roughness necessarily makes it better...but intensity can definitely make it really fun.
I'm for sure in the minority here. But my favorite roller coaster experience was at astroworld in Houston. The ride was serial thriller, an SLC.
I know I've ridden "better" rides since then, but there was something about that one that was just awesome. A few reasons I'm probably biased towards that is that unfortunately, we grew up without a lot of money, and it was the first trip I had ever made to astroworld, and even more unfortunate, it ended up being my only trip to astroworld.
Another reason was that it was just after sundown in Texas. Tracks were warm for sure, and that thing was absolutely flyin!
Also my first time riding in the front of a coaster, being a smaller 11 year old kid, I loved being able to finally see everything. By the time we reached the double twist at the end I was already hooked on roller coasters. But that element was so unexpected and awesome. You come around that corner and think you're going to crash right into the track, and you go spinning around the track and the support beams......that is my favorite part of the entire ride. I vividly remember a big smile coming across my face right after that. We tried getting back on it after the ride was over, but the ride shut down because the park was getting ready to close. My only time ever riding an SLC, which I'm sure I'm in the minority for as well.
I'm sure if I rode one now, I would likely be a little underwhelmed, but that was, to this day, my best experience on a coaster ever.
Fun fact: After Beijing Shibaolai created their nicknamed “Chinese SLC” model. (To knockoff the Vekoma SLC.) Vekoma came in and duplicated the layout of the knockoff SLC naming it the “Shenlin layout”. Essentially they pulled an uno reverse card when Beijing Shibaolai copied them by creating “Chinese SLC”.
The Chinese SLC layout was different than the Vekoma SLC layout.
vekoma cleared
This is a drunk Immelmann
The Wonderwinder - best inversion ever created
I'm surprised no one set up a chiropractic business right outside the front gates of this park & offered neck & spine realignments... they would have made a fortune! 🙃
Yeah, like Crystal Beach's Cyclone had a registered nurse on duty outside the exit
I thought that was steel curtain for a second
Seeing how things can go horribly wrong even with all the knowledge and technology available today makes me appreciate the achievements of companies like Schwarzkopf and Arrow as the first to safely go upside down on steel tracks using technology from 45+ years ago so much more.
I propose that we refer to this ride as SLOCOW (S-uspended LO-oping C-oaster O-ver W-ater).
There’s no way someone actually thought that was okay
Great research!
I have to say this is the first time I have heard of this one!
I’ve watched PoVs for a few other Vekoma knock-offs in China and they look brutal!
what the hell is wrong with that hahaha
The hangtime on the immelmann though.
that airtime hill tho! 😍
You won't be saying that if you experienced it. It may not seem like it, but an airtime hill on an inverted coaster is extremely difficult to pull off smoothly. This is because the forces that create the airtime are trying to fold the train up against the track, this causes the cars to bounce back and forth.
Hi National Coasters, I suggest you to watch the videos from MiyaPA Masane, who has some older videos of this atrocities (in one of the more recent knockoffs the weels don't even touch de rails just before the loop!)
Josiah the 🐐
"A knock off of a knock off of a vekoma SLC"
oh my
Wow 😳😳😳😳😳😳
The restraints on a normal SLC look like a clamshell compared the the twice as bulky MCC ones.
4:14 It's the Wonder-Winder!
I hate that no videos exist of this one
Looks like a K'Nex coaster
Side note: I rode X2 before it was rough and it was much more fun.
Did you know that the Knock off is actually the original?
Ah, cmon. I rode this and it is not that bad.
What’s the name of that yellow coaster at 2:31?
Me: Mom, can we have knockoff Vekoma SLC?
Mom: We have knockoff Vekoma SLC at home
Knockoff Vekoma SLC at home:
haha mcc slc go head bang bang
Unsmoothed Planet Coaster coasters are also very rough xD
Roughness that injures you even if ready for it sucks.... sounds like this ride its the bill.
Just so you know, all engineers did not make valedictorian! Though, you are supposed to have license. But, we know how all that goes.
Is there a pov of this one? 😆 bet not cause it looks janky asf!
TPT2 coasters built in basic editor be like
Never seen a stall on an inverted
4th
i bet coasters enthusiasts can design a coaster better than that
Its autocomplete in planet coaster
lamo what did they design this wit that haft loop holy shit wasnt made correctly looked so rough on your ears welding used track together what could go wrong
With their seemingly lack of skilled engineering they were lucky they never had an accident.
Super cursed
How do you manufacture a coaster so bad?
collaborate with togo
@@FynnFolf oh makes sense
most normal chinese company:
I have the rare credit it sucked painful as hell
Ig good laterals.... lol nope i'll pass, no credit for me
bro, what the heck is this thing hahahaha
I can probably design better in Planet Coaster lol
Cheetah hunt is awful
The reason why Chinese SLC clones are worse than the original is because they are Tofu-dreg projects.
China made crap? *Surprised Pikachu*
