    My home park in Six Flags New England added vests to their SLC in 2017 and it made a world of difference for the ride. It’s obviously still shaky but now you can enjoy the elements without your head being a pinball machine.

      Still shaky, but it was rlly forceful, and the heartline rolls at the end had some awesome whip at the end.

      I can't even enjoy the elements with the vests. I rode it a few weeks ago, and it's at the bottom of my rankings. Like, very bottom. I love the layout, though. Nor'easter proves how good it is.

      I think that in Energylandia they changed the head-bangers to vests somewhere around 2017, you still rock back and forth, but c'mon, that's the charm of SLC's, they must be rough.
      Again, I'm an average vekoma enjoyer so this may be a little biased, but I think that vest SLC's are good rides.
      Edit: it turned out I was wrong, Mayan always had vest restraints lol

  • @mcmadness110
    @mcmadness110 Год назад +12

    I don’t think there is anything inherently wrong with the layout. The only issues are the restraints, which have been fixed on some slc’s, and the track fabrication. The smoothness on new vekomas are down to fabrication methods. This can be seen with the retract of the great nor Easter.

    First of all bravo! It looks so fantastic. But I honestly think that the layout of the original SLC is perfect. That little helix part that you took out in favor of the other half of the cobra roll actually pulls some amazing positive Gs near the back of the train. However I really loved your inclusion of that little airtime pop, and the way you profiled that double twist looks super amazing and cool. The slc has such good potential with them new generation of vekoma coasters. If vekoma just kept making the same layout with their new manufacturing process, it could be an elite invert that I would not mind being cloned for many different parks.

I will say I miss the near miss with the half cobra roll on the first barrel roll of the old design, but the second dive roll on your version looks really fun. @@CorvusCoasters I really enjoy vampire, it's still rough, obviously, but I am a tall person who experiences neckpains and headaches very quickly from rough rides, and as long as I keep my head back and centered, I personally really like Vampire. About what I think they modified, I think they changed the wheels, possibly, as not all of them look the same, which I find rather odd. If I remember correctly, it also seemed to mainly be the main running wheels that have this altering design. Also a year ago I noticed they had put the 2nd train in the maintanence track for 3 months (I went 3 times last year, once in July, once in August and once in September) and the train hadn't been repainted yet, but I found it odd it was off-track for so long. That's another reason I think they might have been modified, as I have older memories with my uncle from way back when, when I do remember it being rougher. Though I might be making that up..
      None the less I hope you have a nice ride aswell, and are able to enjoy it to some degree! And one piece of advice, DON'T RIDE WEERWOLF/WEREWOLF/LOU GAROU! It is a Vekoma wooden coaster, and I do not know if you are a ware of the HELL those things are! I really strongly advice AGAINST riding Werewolf! And I'm not the only one who would tell you this! If you check out one of Walibi Belgiums latest Instagram Reels, where they tried to advertise the Werewolf coaster... Well the comments certainly knew who Rocky Mountain Construction was and the certainly wanted them to do something quickly!
      (I know this is off-topic haha) Werewolf is one of the greatest wooden coasters I have ridden, lay-out wise, but that coaster DOES leave me with pain for the next few days, it is NOT worth it, and if you do ride it, make sure you do the rest first so you do have an enjoyable time on the amazing other rides!
      Have fun! I'd love to hear your opinion on the park later, as Walibi Belgium (not sponsored ;p) is my second favorite park I have been thusfar! (first is Phantasialand, ofcourse!)
