Subscribed before the song actually started. That’s rare for me, I usually watch a few Elvis reactions first

You're thinking too much... Mark pays lip service to words and meaning. He KNOWS that the Blues and Rock (derived from the Blues) operate on a feelings level, on emotions. Watch the Live version of this "On The Night" (1993)... the pedal steel guitar and the AUDIENCE steal the show- the love is palpable.Peace, love and bellbottoms from Canada.

This video refers to "Thunderbirds"....talking about Presley's fans...just a video clip......the end of Dire Straits too....

It's even Gerry Anderson, the creator of Thunderbirds, that co directed this video

Hi. Nice reaction. It's a cool music video but the Live version is awesome with nice little surprises. DS are best viewed live. The versions are so much better. Private Investigations from DS Live " On The Night" 1993 is a really great experience. Anyway all the best from Australia 😊🎸🎸

I guess you never seen the show "Thunderbirds"?, that was a sci fi puppet show from the 60's
Also it's Jeff Porcaro from Toto playing drums in this song(and other songs from this album). Mark Knopfler wrote this song after a family member phoned him while Dire Straits was on tour and said "You're harder to reach than Elvis"

You’re not exactly wrong. Part of the video was used as a commercial to DCC launching in 1991 : ruclips.net/video/U7SRz4NxORA/видео.htmlsi=g2SOAJ9fWG3V16zH
DS had popularized the CD format in the mid 80’s thanks to their former album and tour, Brothers in Arms.
DS’ come back was a very, very big deal.
When the On Every Street album came out, journalists used to say the expectations had never been so high since the legendary bands from the 60’s/70’s.

It's sad that people only know music through advertising! Broken music "industry" 😢
