I'd imagine they keep everything thats relatively easy to contain, like the type where you just toss it in a locker and forget about it, or maybe sprinkle some holy water at it every month or so or something, separated from any of the more dangerous or hard to contain SCP's. cuz even if they are reasonably safe, the last thing you want during a containment breach is any more variables than you need. so it would make sense to keep them as separated as possible.
but that also means entire teams worth of people who are basically just warehouse workers and custodians. checking on the scps to make sure they are a) still there and b) nothing funky has happened with em. would be a fairly safe, if boring job.

This has really fascinating implications. I know this is more of a critique on the US highway/freeway system- of which, the system has been mishandled for decades, but the ideas that this SCP can imply are nearly endless. The main function of the interstate system was to transport troops across the country quickly and efficiently so this SCP could imply that it was built using occult technology designed to teleport troops using a different dimension through these "gates" (on and offramps) and something went wrong leading to people getting trapped and creating the dimension of SCP-7034.
It honestly makes me want to write an entry implying that Robert Mosses (the bastard responsible for the displacement of millions of people and the reason why American cities are essentially just big parking lots with ugly freeways cutting through the middle of them) intentionally designed his layouts the way he did to feed some sort of interdimensional entity he assumed was his god. The people getting transported to 7034 are meant to be some sort of sacrifice to this interdimensional being which would explain the thousands of disappearances that occur on North American highways every year (Canada also experiences large numbers of disappearances especially on HWY 16 where indigenous women are primarily targeted).

Coming from The Exploring Series, it's nice to finally break away from World/Foundation loreal explore SCPs like this one. The SCPs that brought about more questions then answers.
I would love it of this SCP was explored even more. I think it completely warrants MTF exploration if even possible.
The scariest part of this SCP though it that it seems random. There is no indication based on current Foundation records that state how one enters this dimension except through random chance. But the worst is once you do, there is no way out.
    Really well written.
