My marigold leaves are placed in sun but they have developed white spots on the leaves and the small buds are getting brown. Is this also fungal disease?i am using tafgor or rogor on them since 2 days

@Anthony Pereira, Thank you for your question. We can do the same thing for almost all plants. Many times, Aphids & Mealybugs are the main reason behind curly new growth.
My Marie gold is dying really quick within 2 days after purchasing leave ends are turning brown then drying eventually dying.This happened more than three times in this season I prepared potting mix from your mariegold videos sir! and I don't know what's the reason.its getting 4~5 hrs of direct sunlight too. Very nice work from you. Your specialities are making videos from Zero to end. We know it takes months to see results. But, hats off to you, because you actually patiently wait till that results and complete the video's.
@venky s v, Ha ha..thank you so much for your kind words but I am just trying!! I actually do that so that other gardeners can do the same with much more confident. I also understand, sometimes things go wrong as success depends on many other factors, like Climate, Temperature etc. But still, I try my best and feel immense happiness when someone says he/she is getting better results after watching my videos :-) Happy Gardening and for African Marigold, please start sowing the seeds from end of September and you would get lots of flowers within just 60-80 days, Good luck :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat you are absolutely correct. For me biggest challenge is I have only balcony which gets hardly 2-3 hours of sun light. This is the cause of most of my plants not flowering and getting pest attack. That's why I am planning to replace flower plant with home plants which don't need much light.
@venky s v, I can understand as I am almost in same situation...My balcony gets the afternoon Sunlight from around 1:30-6..But in Winter, it's 1:30-4:PM and that doesn't help most of flowering plants at all. That's why, I grow flowering plants on Terrace :-) I agree...Indoor kinda plants are much better in such cases :-) But still, you can consider growing few Winter flowering plants that don't need lots of Sunlight to bloom well (saying as I know you love flowering plants). For example, Cineraria, Primula, Kalanchoe etc..I would do a video about it very soon. Thank you and TC :-)
@Kartikay singh, Sure, you can provide and if it's in shade, please don't keep under too much sunlight directly. Instead, gradually increase the Sunlight exposure and that way, there is no chance of any damage. Thank you :-)
Dont buy any fungicide from the market!! Make your own Fungicide! How? Mix Baking soda (one to two teaspoon) in a spray bottle, add one teaspoon of vegetable oil (to stick to leaf), and one teaspoor of liquid soap. Shake it well and spray on plants...regularly!! It is simple and cost effective!!
Pls research before using baking soda as I had sprayed it on some hibiscus plants n on dopati plant but the dopati stem totally got damaged..n the hibiscus leaves drooped..
@@GardeningUpbeat I used just regular jiffy seed starting mix..as far as the picture goes the I cant get my camera to focus good enough to see the problem..it happens a couple of days after they spout..it starts getting dry and turning brown at the outer tip of the Cotyledons and starts slowly spreading towards the stem until the whole Cotyledons is brown and tried out..it only affects the Cotyledons the stem is sticking up strong so I doubt its damping off which is common in seedlings..its almost like the seedling is dehydrating but the soil is kept evenly moist with day and night light but not direct sunlight during the day..so I dont think its getting to much light drying out..I dont know if something is wrong with the seed or nutrient deficiency or what it is..I thought maybe u would know and was able to help and was familiar with marigolds and the types of problems they have..
@Al Capone, Oh..Ok! So, those are still in seedling stage. I was thinking you have already transplanted them and they are somewhat older (you mentioned as they are seedlings, I just took it otherwise, sorry). Can you let me know if you are able to see any new leaves? If yes, there is no need to worry even if you are able to see the symptoms on Cotyledons. Again, definitely it's not the Nutrient deficiency. Since they are at their early stage, they don't need any extra nutrients. I suspect, there is something wrong in the Soil Media or the seeds itself. Also, plz note that few hours of morning sunlight would be fine. Or else, they may become leggy.
@@GardeningUpbeat No new leaves..just the Cotyledons..and it effects them before the new leaves are able to grow..a couple of days after they spout before new leaves..are able to grow..I just had one sprout today it had a healthy Cotyledon and a curled up brown looking..but that was the only one I seen spout with 1 brown and 1 green..I've seen some sprout with yellow Cotyledons and later they turn green and healthy looking then start looking like they have tip burn and start drying out and after a while it affects the whole Cotyledon.. I dont know what it could be it has me puzzled..I dont know that much about marigolds so I dont know what's going on..🤷♂️
@@GardeningUpbeat update on the green Cotyledon it finally dried up and withered away so now all I have is a green stem left..I been checking for pest with a magnifying glass but nothing crawling on the Cotyledons or anything..I did a really good flush before I planted to make sure no salt build up or fertilizer in the soil..so I doubt its fertilizer burn..I dont know what it could be...I thought marigolds was about the easiest thing u can grow..I dont understand why I'm having this much trouble 🤷♂️

@Priyanka Poojar, 5 months and no bloom...that's bit strange as they bloom within 2 months (starting from seeds). I believe they are not getting enough Sunlight or issue with the variety itself...Since winter is almost near, it would be better to start from seeds again and this time you can use some good varieties...Good Luck :-)

I suspect it's a huge virus attack so will hv to uproot it totally take out all bad dried up leaves possible prune them and keep it away from all other plnt and then perhaps do neemoil/or bakingsoda treatment. you can try the same few things.
Fungicide is not gud..all my plants are getting their leafs burn.. Daily I wash one one leafs with my hands but it is not going away from my plants.. It is really very upset for me
By the way, when I applied saaf fungicide on my American marigold. It actually killed the plants. So, I searched in RUclips. Some one said Saaf is dangerous for marigolds. I don't know how you could saved your plants
@venky s v, Sorry to know..but real problem is, African Marigolds are grown in Winter as they can't tolerate the Summer Temperature. For Summer, French Marigold is better. SAAF is not at all dangerous for Marigold, only thing is we shouldn't overdose it (Max 2 grams in 1 liter water). I apply SAAF on many of my plants and so far, none died. One more hint - Even if we overdose the pesticide or fungicide, the plants usually don't die immediately. Instead, either they shed leaves or leaves turn yellow..

I am facing the same issue. It's been 2 months and no flower. Its raining so much here and I have never waited for sun like this ever before 😭
