- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2001 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Even though this generation came out from GM in the 90s, which we all know weren't known for quality vehicles, it can't stop me from loving this car. Probably one of the most reliable and fuel efficient muscle cars to come out from the era. If I found one of these with low miles and a 6 speed, I'd definitely pick it up in a heartbeat.

I just bought a 2000 Z28, it was a one owner car. A man in his 60's traded it in at a local dealership. I luckily found it first. It's all stock and runs fantastic !

This was the video that I watched that eventually led to me getting one of these. I have an 02 model. They are truly a joy to drive.
I own a 2014 mustang 5.0 and this 2001 Camaro Z28 still impresses me for it's time. When it comes to performance chevy does't mess around!!! Can't wait to someday own a Corvette Stingray!!! :)
I agree...Just wish the Camaro's had about 50 more horsepower. I only say this cause cars like the GT500 and the Hellcat. :)

My mom's ex husband had a green 1997 Chevrolet Camaro SS. We always had to jumpstart it all the time. That absolutely drove him up the walls. It was a nice car. It had the 6.2 liter V8.

it's just not the same without the Firebird
there was a 8 year period where the camaro was not produced, the discontinued the camaro and brought it back....... even today its not on its own platform. long live the fbody, 1967-2002 RIP. the 5th and 6th gens share their architecture with another model car (i cannot remember what that car is). the fbody was firebird and camaro ONLY. GM had to do that to save production costs, use an existing architecture. not saying i dont like the newer camaro, its just not the same as a purpose built fbody.

These were my absolute favorite cars twenty years ago when I started driving around the time when this gen was discontinued. I still prefer this gen today over the Current Camaro. I'm typically not a fan of GM, as most of the vehicles I've purchased so far have been Toyota's & Lexus' mainly for reliability of course, but have always loved the Camaro & Corvette.
Agree with you not much of a GM fan due to reliability trust but definitely respect Camaro and Corvette they the only 2 GM products I'd buy besides the firebird trans am back in 2003 high school days the Camaro and mustang was in every highschool parking lot

I don’t. Owner of a t-top 2000 z28 Camaro here, they’re ugly and inconvenient to use. They also heat your car up to 4 times the temp of hell if your sunshades are missing like mine are.
They leak, they overcook the interior, they cause the colors to fade (especially with leather)
Truly enjoyable video about a car which is both stylish and affordable. I can see on the shortened length of the video, that a minute saved by not having to explain that cursed smart key access, and a further five shaved off on the various non-existent navigation features. Oh blessed simplicity!

Beluga whale The ride quality is ass, there's road noise galore, and the speakers broke. BUT. I don't care. It has an LS and I love every second driving it.
yeah my dads v6 isnt the best for comfort. But I bet that LS makes it worth it. Hows your mpg? considering purchasing one but a bit worried about it being gas muncher
It's fairly nice on the highway, but it has a small fuel tank, so fill ups while driving city were bad. Rural and suburban driving wasnt too bad
Get some Koni Shocks & Strano Springs/Swaybars. Adjustable Panhard,
and LCA's, and you'll notice a huge improvement in ride quality.

Chevy's 5.7L engine was outstanding. It's fuel economy and the power it puts out were/are both great. Not hard to find a 5.7L with 220k miles original and stock engine if taken care of.

Kyle Koewler my first camaro was a iroc z28 . I have owned 2 v6 fourth gens ever since and just by reading your comment I definitely have to agree.. A legend indeed. The ss's are always sweet but the Z's will always be a beast in its own rights.

This is nice. Of the three Camaro videos I've seen you make, this is the only one with stock exhaust, and it sounds perfect! It'd be great if you did one of these on a 95 to 96 Z28 that was still stock and low mileage like this one. You would be impressed with the more unique dash design, better exhaust note, much better Bose speakers (if you are lucky and find one with them), and if it's an automatic, drive with it in D when you do the acceleration video and turn off the ASR if it was equipped.

An astonishing in my opinion... the sound is just awesome and it remind me of older muscle cars.. this V8 is good against other fast cars or at least it was in 90's- 2000 and so on.. but it's always good for 0-60, drag races and with few mods u own a great looking car and maybe the faster of ur streets. ;)

I would love to have a Z28, just make a sleeper car out of it. Real mild at first, but when you put your foot into it it comes alive! Plus I hear those LS motors are nice on gas for a V8.

yeah i agree with you man very rare to find manual. i was lucky i bought a 2000 Camaro z28 6 speed with a fuckin hurst shifter in it i paid 8000 bucks for it but it was in immaculate shape and it was all stock so i knew it wasnt abused and hot roded much. dont give up hope. a good alternative are Pontiac WS6s the pontiac firebird/ transams from 98 to 02 are pretty much the same thing as the camaros both have LS1s
