@@andrewdean7917Ah, I see..not Bali bombings exactly, but the end of Soeharto regime and there's riots at that time. Yeah, better going to Panaitan islands (Apocalypse & One Palm Point etc) or Southern Sumatera (Mandiri beach break, and way Jambu etc) way less crowded, and way more consistent and bigger, and no one learning to surf at those spots plus you got all the beaches just for you & friends. Sorry dude, it's just a bit annoying how the comparison being played by Filipinos, like I said before if Mentawaians never referencing their place with Bali, how this Siargao has the comparison to begin with? I just don't get it 😊.
As a Filipino, I am pleased with the development in Siargao; however, I am concerned about the island becoming overcrowded like Bali and Phuket due to the growing number of tourists, both local and international. I wish for Siargao to preserve its unique identity. After watching various vlogs, it is evident that many new establishments are being constructed in the hopes that the local government will limit the entry of investors who may hire workers from outside the island or Surigao. Bali has undergone significant changes, with litter becoming a widespread issue and tourists failing to respect the local culture and community, instead taking advantage of what is available. Phuket is facing a similar situation, with rising crime rates, HIV, prostitution, drug-related issues, etc. attributed to the failure to regulate the influx of tourists, disrupting the peace and tranquility that the locals once enjoyed. Anyway, Have you tried visiting Siquijor island?
Surely, using a functional bridge as street food market and sunset watching point not to mention put a dam to the one and only waterfall it has really is do not represent how this 'Filipinos overly concern attitude" about something bad happening in other countries and that for 53k foreign tourist arrivals only or circa 1% of Bali's & Phuket's numbers, and I don't see any sizeable surfing tax nor visitor tax applied to limit the number intentionally. You Filipinos don't walk the talk, more like naysaying I must say. Mentawais walk the talk, by putting $128 per 15 days surfing tax, never you found Mentawaians telling this and that about others😊😊,right? better you guys do that first before it's too late, but be warned surfers willing to pay for Mentawais because of it's waves. Still need to see how Siargao's waves worth the surfing tax or not 😊😊😊, you don't sell cultural performances like Bali for sure, you don't have that kind of things.
wait i just ask if that legal to pay on sunset i guess someone put a table there which is not legal🤔🤔🤔 have they give you some receipt ?? but if our government or Mayor said its legal then its ok to paid
Be careful because the deep well water for showers is polluted. It's very common for local and foreign kid's to get diverticulitis or worse staf infections
i have severe araknophobia ..not the small spiders but the big ones as big as my hand..so i guess that place is not for me..maybe ill just stay in a big hotel where cleaning is done everyday
@@JooseTheNomad interesting. Yeah I think you're right for myself it would be too small. I would prefer to retire in a bigger city (Cebu) and then vacation in Siargao for about 5 - 8 days
@@JooseTheNomad why in the Philippines? Good question. It doesn't need to be... I guess Cebu is just an example. I've also thought of just traveling slowly around during retirement for a while. I never compared it to an Indo wave , just the fact that every kook has turned up at Cloud 9 .
They want Philippines as retirement for good 🇵🇭😍
How much would it cost a couple to live there? Monthly. (ball park)
Next video ablut cost if living, but I'd say around $2000 but of course depends a lot on the lifestyle
Hey guys ! I’m planning on going from mid november to december. Is the raining still ok during that period ?
@@lemapr0d826 not a good time to go⛈️
Is it nice place to go with a 1 year old baby ?
Be careful because the deep well water for showers is polluted. It's very common for local and foreign kid's to get diverticulitis or worse staf infections
My favourite ilands in siargaw
cool bro thx

For how long and what purpose?
@@JooseTheNomad A bit of everything: adventure, snorkeling, island hopping, scenery, white sand beaches, and surfing.
@@JooseTheNomad three weeks
@@Peacemakerblue based on that description I'd say Siargao :)
@@PeacemakerblueDon't waste your time, go Mentawais instead. This place is overhyped through the roof as surf destination.
Siargao is beautiful, but try the new Siargao: Siquijor AND Bantayan.
Probably not good yet for lomg stay👀
Stayed in bantayan for a month no problem :) Siquijor is a bit more of a challenge internet wise
@@neeekkk depends on the lifesyle I guess😄
Our lifestyle is pretty similar :) working remotely from da Nang now, also did it from Siargao, Bantayan, Penang, Bali, Lombok and other places.

Hello 👋
Sup?
no one can stop typhoon everyone knows that atleast we dont have TSUNAMI
It doesn't seem like a place where you would want to retire if you're on a budget of $1,500 US
You could with that budget but I'm not sure if it's very retiree friendly destination🤔
@@JooseTheNomad interesting. Yeah I think you're right for myself it would be too small. I would prefer to retire in a bigger city (Cebu) and then vacation in Siargao for about 5 - 8 days
@@trevr1969 yeah that's probably better. Why in the Philippines tho?
@@JooseTheNomad why in the Philippines? Good question. It doesn't need to be... I guess Cebu is just an example. I've also thought of just traveling slowly around during retirement for a while. Just stay in each country long enough until you have to leave. Like once your tourist visa expires you can move on to another country and just repeat. Who knows? Retirement is still 10 years away for myself.
@@trevr1969 yeah that's probably a good idea to see which place feels the best :)
pilipino living in California but savings here and then going back in philippines and buy a house and lots in Siargao and live there forever
