What a beautiful story. I like how much he cares about his employees because he knows how it feels to be exhausted at your job. Truly inspiring, can't wait to visit there someday.
For Filipino financial stability is everything and once you have it it’s hard or almost impossible to give it up, I’m Ukrainian-Canadian Traveler and after visited most of south East Asian countries I settled in the Philippines and it was my best ever decision I ever made. I do know what Filipino cherish the most it’s family, and financial stability and when I hear a person who had both then gives up on one and half out of those two I know I want wish this powerful person well and I know you will succeed. I currently living in cebu but I will definitely visit Surigao soon as well as this restaurant! Best of luck sir!
@@mosesjeromelazaro2841 siargao is part of Surigao del sur. And it’s equally beautiful all the islands in the Surigao region though they’re not as developed as siargao
The first time i saw David and his restaurant, CEV, was from Chef JP’s vlog. I love that this video was an in-depth documentary about the restaurant, owner, challenges, employees, and the place. Kudos ❤
Love this. Wish we have an island like Siargao here in Europe. Your people are very resilient and hardened by the regular calamities that come your way. Also love Philippine seafood. Hoping to come back soon.
So happy to see the Cev team being featured. I don’t live in the Philippines but went back to Siargao twice in 6 months and made sure to visit Cev multiple times each visit. The food is always amazing and consistent, the service super friendly and on point, and even the music is a great tempo and volume. Even the tshirts are super cool! To David and the team, you should all be very proud of this world-class Filipino venue. Can’t wait for my 3rd Siargao trip soonnnn….
ganda nung content! galing nung pagkakahabi nung mga scenes, sounds, conversations, cuts, etc. hindi ka magsasawa mag tune-in, galing nyo Erwan and FEATR Team!
I am soon opening a business of my own here in the island. After living 5years here, I deeply am inspired by brands and businesses that are very passionate in what they do that show case the advocacies and reflect the core values they practice and align with personally. I found that same passion and desire to contribute to the community that I now call family through their art and that’s what fuels me everyday. Being surrounded by an amazing set of people right behind me and having an intelligent supportive creative loving partner by my side are also what’s holding me together here and I’ve never been happier in my life. She definitely changed the way I see life and helped me through all the setbacks. I think that’s why it is very important that we keep doing what we do-our art because we influence people of the same hearts to help shape and lead futures of generations to contribute more good into our collective growth in the community.
Leaving the corporate world and pursuing a better token in life, which is happiness according to him, is so inspiring. It's like viewing a bigger picture in life and prioritizing what really matters is not money but happiness and peacefulness. A great boss to the people behind CEV.
It's truly refreshing to watch young entrepreneurs who venture to do what they love doing and simply enjoy what they do. CEV would simply be part of my bucket list to visit in Siargao.
I appreciate how he prioritizes his employees. Not all business owners could do that. Kudos to you, Chef David! Looking forward to going back and actually sitting down to eat at Cev 😋
as a kinilaw truther, this makes me happy 🤍 kinilaw is my favorite food in the entire world and i would will choose it forever and always. i can feel the passion of cev’s chef and i highly agree that kinilaw is a good representation of the philippines. i have family and friends who went to siargao and fell in love with it. beaches and island isn’t my thing but this just sold me to visit siargao! thanks featr for this 🫀
This episode is very inspiring and very well put together. Featr team did great work! Also wishing him and his team all the success. He took the risk and faced many uncontrollable hardships and adversities while maintaining the vision and goals to pursue his dreams and is succeeding in life. He also seems like a very genuinely good hearted person and respects the importance and appreciates the people that make it happen for him. 👍🤙
1) David must be extremely smart and hardworking to be able to leave his former career and risk everything for the unknown. 2) that is, ultimately, the goal isn't it? experience life. we chase for what want - money, fame, accolades. in the end it's really about "the need" family. the joy of having time for that. 3) I would've been broken to bits if that happened to me - moving in and then the typhoon hit. 4) never underestimate ones resilience
Such an encoraging story despite all the odds however the spirit of overcoming all adversities remain high and prevail. Thank you Fetr for this documentation.
Wow I’ve been following Cev on Insta for a couple years because I love their vision and vibe, but to see Featr do a story on them just made my heart so happy! Such an amazing story, his story made me tear up, particularly coming back from the typhoon. So resilient and inspiring, I love it ❤
Kinilaw is one of my fave food. In Davao we eat it with Kamote (Sweet Potato). Well done, Sir David! Keep doing what you do. Others only dream of the life you have now. Keep inspiring! Thanks again Featr for a superb content! 🫶🏻🫶🏻👏🏻🙌🏼
I'll get back to this comment once I get to visit Cev. Cev and David has inspired me so much in my culinary journey. One day, I'll be able to afford to go to IAO. May the stars align! ✨
I watched the whole video…very interesting and inspiring story of a successful chef and entrepreneur who cares about his employees…more power David to your success…it pays to be a hard worker! Thank you Featr team for featuring CEV. 👍👍
As a former restaurant owner, this resonates so much with my soul. When he said he did everything at the start, I just felt how overwhelming and demanding that was. The level of grit they have is admirable. I wish to sample the menu someday when we get back to the island.
One of my dreams in life is to live in Siargao and CEV is the place where I want to work when I'm in the island. Finally, CEV has a video telling about its story. I just love this. I also admire how the boss is so smart and wise and good looking. More fruitful years to CEV and its team.
Awesome FEATR, before i saw David of CEV form vlogs of @chefjpanglo last year pa yata yun, pero more on tour kasi sa ibang resto dyan sa Siargao, now ko lang naabutan yung buong storya ng CEV at ni David at yung wife nya. Grats again FEATR and hope to visit again Siargao in future. Great story David and Charlote, hope to grab one of your T-shirt also.
I really love how your business started and how you went through all the challenges along the way. I would say that the dishes are mouth watering! I can only watch and savor them virtually 😊 Sana you can also try doing seafood dynamite with blue cheese. Paborito ko kasing pulutan ang dynamite which goes so well with beer! Anyway, may you continue to succeed in your business. I truly admire how you treat your employees so well. God bless you more. Best wishes David, and CEV! ❤
Will definitely visit CEV in January 2025. Hope to meet you, chef. Great story and very inspiring! I love the part that you are taking care of the people who help you, your employees (your team)
Love the context of all your videos FEATr. Love this one too, appreciate the owner of the restaurant thinking about the welfare of its people. FEATr is my kind of NETFLIX and Chill. Kudos!
It's awesome to see stories like this! Congratulations on your success. I can't wait to visit Siargao next year and your restaurant is on the top of my list.
The owner of this restaurant is so humble 👍 You keep it up then you will be blessed more especially you are nice to your employees and customers! ❤️ My brother will be staying there in Siargao for 1 month vacation and I am sure he will visit your restaurant and also he love to 🏄♂️ surf!
Guys! i ate here a couple months back and omg does this place not disappoint! Literally the freshest and best kinilaw i have ever tasted. People talk about going back to Siargao for the parties and other activities, i would purely go back just to eat at CEV again - it's THAT good.
Wow! Great feature FEATR. The food looks great and LAMI (yummy)! Will definitely try when I come back to Siargao. I really love kinilaw and would love to try one that’s not really like the usual. An elevated version such as this. Wow. Great owner also. Passionate and appreciative of his staff.
That’s a wow! Thank you FEATR, I was here to watch how they make the famous kinilaw but chef del rosario’s story moved me, such an inspiration. Keep on winning in life chef 🤘🏻

what an inspiring story! at the end of the day, as much as we all need money, life is really about pursuing your purpose and interest so that we will not end up feeling empty and regretful.
Hindi ako kumakain ng kinilaw pero I've been here last week and I start loving it... For me, mas masarap ung General Luna sa mga ceviche lalo na kung mas marami ng konti ung ensaladang talong hahaa then ung spring rolls ang sarap... I'll definitely going back in CEV on my 4th Siargao trip...
