He was trying to make Krista feel less frustrated with him. 2) It's possible that Gideon asked Elliot, "Did you know that I'm gay?" (31.36) because Elliot recoiled earlier when Gideon patted him on the shoulder (30.03). Elliot recoils because he's uncomfortable with human contact, but Gideon is likely unaware of that, and was trying to figure out Elliot's earlier body language.
Yes, the hacking/technical stuff is very realistic, they had advisors and researchers. It's good that you already caught on the unreliable narrator angle and the mental substitutions he's making.
And some of the stuff that wasn't as realistic when the show started become realistic as the show popularized some tools and stuff. They worked with the guys that make KaliOS, and that Linux distro has completely exploded in popularity due to Mr Robot :)

You reacting to this finally prompted me to watch it too (to stay ahead). Ended up watching the first season in a day. With my two years of CS experience (dropped out though :^) all the tech stuff seems very accurate. The dialogue is pretty good too, only one or two things made me wince a bit and that's amazing for a mainstream TV show.
It feels like this is an ideal show for Ziggy to react to. I wonder if he'd also enjoy the government surveillance aspects of Person of Interest (and the AI pov) ?

I haven't really watched television for over 20 years; I don't have the patience for it. When I did watch stuff streaming, they were old reliables like DS9 (but only the good ones). In the past few years, however, now that binge watching has become a thing, I have watched all of The Expanse and all of Mr Robot. Mr Robot is the best television program I've ever seen and the only one I've loved unreservedly from beginning to end.
I just finished the show after watching it when it first came out trying to start again and finally fully finished it. And my god. Fucking so good im sad it took me so long lol
You gotta watch "WHO AM I" on Netflix by the creaters of Dark, Zygart. They were asked to make it into a show by Netflix but it was too similar to MR. ROBOT, so they made DARK instead.
