I have a paperback of the Mamas and the Papas book written by Michelle Phillips and autographed by Michelle to me (my brother-in-law at the time lived next door to her). She wrote something like "Don't believe everything you read . . .". I wonder what it will be worth to my kids after Michelle and I are gone because they will be the ones to sell it. I'm guessing maybe $500 but who knows. She had a lot of fans. Excuse while I go play some of their music . . . It never gets old.
Time Magazine described her voice as the, "purest soprano," in pop music in 1966. She also co-wrote California Dreamin and Monday, Monday. That takes a lot more "upstairs," than you realize. She was brilliant at the young age of 21 years old. She went on to have a successful modeling, and acting career after The Mamas and Papas ended.

straight shooter always meant , to me an education psychologist....especially when 3 dog night were in mt. -pleasant....don't ask me why , I didn't even know.... unlike other comments here or else where I was sort of an unmade puzzle back then , somewhat not put together , at times,.... However , I do see Michelle as a sole survivor & sort of have those memories....
