Not fair to compare her and Cass Elliot simply because the two had very different voices bonded together it was magic and then of course adding John Phillips with Denny Doherty John being the lead singer and Dennis being considered cross between a falsetto and a tenor this is one of the bands that had that Harmony that was just perfection said with all the respect in the world XOXO

This is one of my favorite solo songs from Michelle. This wasn't on her solo album; it was a soundtrack song. Another soundtrack song she did was "Forever" but I have yet to find it on the internet.
Michelle never had any intentions of making a career as a solo artist. She pursued an acting career. Yet, she did do a few things. I like that, at least, we have one solo album from her. And we sort of have another album's worth of songs.
John intended to produce her solo album. They initially worked on a batch of songs, but because of his addiction and/or other issues, he was unable to follow through with it. Some of the songs they initially recorded were re-recorded/re-worked for her album, and new songs were added. Leftovers from the project were John's initial recordings, as well as numerous outtakes, some of them quite stunning. Thankfully her album and those leftovers resurfaced on the compilation album Victim of Romance & Rarities CD.

Zenbone65 One of these days, if I ever get round to teaching myself the first thing about video editing, I'll post Michelle's other soundtrack contribution that remains her rarest recording yet - a 1977 song called "Forever" that was used in a film called California 77 if I'm not mistaken. A beautiful track and a must for all fans.

@@EranEdry ~ You're correct about the song, but yes, you're mistaken about the title of the movie. It's California Dreaming, released in 1979. It was a surf movie, but had no connection with the Mamas and Papas.

I love this song and especially how she sings it. I could always pick her out in the Ms&Ps harmonies, but her solo voice is quite haunting.

There’s something so mid 70s, Donnie and Marie, pop ballad about this song.
Not that it’s a bad thing. I grew up in the 70s and listened to that music

Many artists wouldn’t cope with an eight bar instrumental with nothing to do in it, but she nails it!

Something you don't see very often these days......good microphone technique. See how much more visually pleasing it is to the viewer to have space between the top of the micr. and the face / mouth.

wow... what a beautiful song this is_ well arranged,
and just right for her voice_ she is pure class.
The initial feeling I got from this was, after her
mega-success with Mamas&Papas, Michelle just didnt need
another career win. Its just talent being exuded.
There is a lot of emotion apparent here though... the
band, and her marriage had both just ended in tragedy,
but she shines so bravely in this number_ [sniff]_ 40
    years ago even.

One heart gone and one alone
Is that how life must go
The more I see, the less I know
    So bring tomorrow around
Until it comes, I don't wanna be found
Let me stand, right here, with nothing to say
    No love today
One day morn, just like before
Can make it hard to see
A world more beautiful for me
    So, bring tomorrow around
Until it comes, I don't wanna be found
Let me be where no one ever would say
    No love today
    So, bring tomorrow around
Until it comes, I don't wanna be found
Let me be where no one ever would say
    No love today
Need to be where no one ever would say
    No love today
