Nice video. It's 3 years old now. I just got the Gopro Hero 10 m but there is actually a Hero 12 available now. Suggestions to viewers: -fimor lights that come with top and bottom mounts, buy two (2) and connect them together. You can angle them left and right, slightly away from center to get a wider field and twice the brightness. In impresses with the Neewer 60 and I hope it's still available.
Took your advice and went for the big Neewer... It lasted all of 40 minutes down to 20 metres 😂 had a lot of water inside by the time I surfaced. Seems that a lot of people have had a similar experience, are you doing any additional prep to these lights before diving?
Thanks for this video. I looking for underwater video light for gopro and not sure about the brightness, distance, wide angle of light will enough for real life use in scuba diving. Hope you made the real life use video in scuba diving with these light in this video. Thank you.
Thanks! Not sure why you included a light you really didn't like for the "best of" video. ;) But I found it useful. QUESTION: Do you use any lights for snorkeling or only diving?
If I am night snorkeling I will use one. But I usually snorkel in the day so it is not needed. And at snorkeling depth not much color is lost so a light is not neccessary
I just bought the suptig 72 led 5 color lights & just got it last night. Really bright light & easy to use. 164' water proof. The colors are bright light, red, yellow, blue, pink. Would have been better with green instead of pink IMHO but seems good. My only complaint so far is not much info on the small information card. I will not be diving with it. (To old & fat & live in Michigan). But hope to get some underwater footage of fighting some fish on the Great lakes.
@@JoeOceanside I just posted one testing it on my balcony so you if you wanna check that out go ahead and I'm gonna try to build my RUclips channel. Mostly gonna be cooking and fishing
So I'm looking for a light to turn on for glamor shots on fish at night. I use red lights to keep the bugs away but when I show the fish to the camera or to the livestream I want to have a white light to turn on. Which one of the suptig lights would you recommend? The 84 led or the 36 led? I'm usually within 15 ft of the camera when bank fishing and within 5 feet of the camera on the kayak. Thanks ahead for your opinion and answer!
Is it possible to set up a go pro cam like other videographers do with their camera? Example: a tray, 2 floats to mount lights and a dome port so thay we can take it underwater more confidently and manouvet according to the convenience.
Hi ... I wanna ask about Backscatter when you positioned Suptig 36 LED directly under the GoPro just like in this video. Can that LED light positioning avoid Backscatter ? It would be great if you have sample video for that light positioning. Thank you
Very good question because backscatter will definitely a big problem with this setup Many people try to show this kind of setup on land only to avoid the true story when it apply to real underwater footage. I think this man either do not know what he is doing or just to avoid telling the truth!!!!!
Hi there, I watched your video and I really appreciate it but had a question maybe you can help. I have the gopro hero 8 and was going to buy the light mod for it from the gopro website but wanted your advice if i should do that or if you think the suptig or neewer is better? I definitely want to purchase whichever is the best one out there but both the neewer and suptig 84 have inconsistent reviews on other sites. Thank you for your help!
If you are going in the water with it I would do the suptig or the neewer. The gopro light mod is only waterproof to 33 feet. The Neewer and the suptig are waterproof to 131 feet or more. Also the gopro mod is only 200 lumens so it is not very bright. But if you want compact then the Gopro would seem a good choice. I have owned a small suptig for about three years and it has not leaked on me yet after many 100 ft dives. Hope that info helps
I have always been a fan of the Light & Motion Side Kick Duo light. They are a higher price point then some of the ones you featured but the build quality is worth it!
I owned two Sidekicks; I loved them. they were sweet until they flooded. They were powerful and reliable until they, over time, took on saltwater. They're toast. I never had them deeper than 60-feet.The first one to leak was showing Galvanic reaction. I should have suspected a saltwater leak. Sidekicks RIP. I will search out another brand.
Thank you for this video, very well done ! I cannot decide between the Shoot Handheld or the Newer 60, I like the 18650 battery tho, as they are easy replaceable between dives. What would you recommend ? which one is the strongest one ? thank you :)
I like the Neewer much better than the shoot. I love 18650s I have many spares. I don't like the charger port on the shoot either. The shoot maybe a little brighter, but worh price and convenience I go with the Neewer. Thanks for watching
It seems the Neewer that uses 18650, (60 led version reviewed here) may be discontinued? No one actually sells it any longer (listed as unavailable). Is really well reviewed on Amazon. The replacement from Neewer is smaller and does not use 18650.
Does the flash work for photo sequencing? And if the LED is on all the time in the sequence photo mode or if the flash is fired photo by photo! Please I am very interested to know that! Tell me on text because i cant understand all that u telling on vídeo! Thousand thanks Joe.
All these lights are only constant on (no strobe). Except maybe the shoot handheld pro. But gopro can't do that anyway. Hope that helps, thanks for watching
I liked your question because I've been thinking the same thing. If you have a light, it should make up for the loss of red as you go deeper, so you can leave your white balance setting at -5, and fix it in post if you have to, but with the Hero 11 you shouldn't have to.
These lights wont do anything unless the subject is very close to the light. I have the shoot handheld pro and I can only use it for selfies lets say 1m away from me, but for shooting divers that are further away than let's say 2m it's useless. I think it's important to mention these lights are amateur entry models and in my opinion not worth buying, unless you shoot macro
Yeah, I use a Gopro and everything looks small unless you are close to your subject. So i just film whats close to me and these lights seems to be sufficient for the price. Your channel is great BTW, what camera are you using?
Good video, most of my dives with gopro that i have used different go pro (unoffical) lights they all leak rather quickly and shallow. I usually go to 30-40 m but they sadly usually give in just after a few meters. I just ordered the Shoot handheld pro diving torch. So i can manage to film at 50meters. Hope it works
I hope you find one you like, I have a suptig I have used for over three years and is still working great. I recently took my neewer to 100 feet with no issue. What are you filming at 50 meters? that is really deep
