2 CD SET FROM PORCUPINE TREE FEATURING 'THE INCIDENT' LIVE FROM CHICAGO
Here's 'Time Flies', recorded in Chicago, taken from disc 2 of Octane Twisted. Film taken from the DVD which was part of the Special Edition 3 Disc Set, which is now sold out.
The Incident went top 30 in both the UK and USA, and the world tour climaxed with sold out shows at Royal Albert Hall in London and Radio City Music Hall in New York.
The album marked another step forward in the incredible journey of the band from a solo studio project created by Steven Wilson in the late eighties to a grammy nominated act and one of the world's most revered live band.
Octane Twisted features the album in its entirety recorded in Chicago. The second CD contains 5 tracks classic PT tracks also recorded in Chicago along with 3 highlights from the band's landmark show at Royal Albert Hall.

Better than the studio version
Very Floyd influenced, non the less, this is excellent, never heard of this band before and only just been introduced to them by listening to a track called Dark Matter, just listened to a few other tracks and I'm hooked... Great band, hope I get the chance to see them

That was one era.Those mixing, color bursts and editing in the Video. Such electric, Much Wow. Total treat for your eyes, ears and soul.

Gotta give it uo for Steven, the lead guitar player.
Don't get me wrong, some of the shots of the musicians playing are very cool. But the constant cutting and muddy sound detract.
What are you talking about this is an amazing mix it doesn't sound muddy at all buddy, maybe check what you are listening through?

Hate to say it but this sounds awful to me. Gavins kit sounds terrible especially his snare, there's not enough bass and no balls in general. SW couldn't have mixed this, could he?

The recording wasn't even Steven's idea, he didn't want to release it. You can see how it's a step back from Anesthetize. I think it was Gavin who recorded it or who pushed the recording, which makes what you say about his kit especially weird, but still true.
Rickprog Gavin posts and answers fan questions in the drummerworld forums. If I remember right, he has said that he didn't feel their best performances were captured on the nights that the shows were filmed and that he was against releasing the dvd. I believe he pretty much said it was just a majority vote among the band whether or not to go ahead and make a live dvd, and didn't elaborate beyond that. Definitely got the impression that he wasn't happy that it was released though.
The quality isnt bad at all on the dvd actually. I think it has something to do with youtube compression and the related distortion. It sounds perfectly alright on the dvd, and plus, if you check out drawing the line from the same night on youtube, his snare actually sounds its best.
