Debating buying this game right now, could you real quick explain how items work? So, are items in the shop bought with in-game currency, like clothing, guns, etc, and do you need a certain level to buy 'em? And are the add-on's that you purchase actually giving you the item or just access to buy the item in game? Thanks
@@ibrahimfarhan69 so all dlc is available, free in game. Ammo will cost but nothing crazy. New Player Tips: 1. Tents DLC - Lifechanging! I always have a tent in inventory. The ability to drop it down anywhere is so beneficial I think TENTS should have been in the base game. Drop a tent for store access to buy ammo, etc. Drop a tent to spawn an ATV to drive around. Drop a tent at a place you shot multiple-kills, so once you track your first kill just fast-travel back to that tent and follow the next blood trail. Drop a tent to easily access you favorite spots that don't have outposts nearby.... etc. etc. GET TENTS DLC! --- 1A (bonus tip) One tip about Tents or below Tree-stands: Buy just 1 version/color of any tent/tripod/treestand, in that way it will STACK. It doesn't matter that you have a stack of 50 "white" tents, if you take them from storage, that stack of 50 all go into inventory but still only weights the same as 1 tent. This saves time if you want to setup several tents in a row for a particular hunt, and I have never found a source that says as of 12/2022 that a tent or tripod's 'camo' pattern made any difference when hunting or spooking animals. 2. Tripods / Tree-Stands AND ATV. These 2 DLC are not as good as Tents, but they are very high 'quality of life' benefits. New players will absolutely love being able to DRIVE around the map to unlock areas. Also ATVs are wonderful when you shoot something on the other side of a body of water and have a 10 minute walk that becomes a 1 minute ride. Tripods/Tree-stands are wonderful for invisible hunting open areas with height to see all around you.. Also they reduce hunting pressure by 75% I think.. so hunt an area longer. Also great to use to mark areas like rabbit burrows that don't show on maps. 3. New players (especially if you have tripods) should go to Hertzfeld and find any of the big fields.. Put down a tripod and scatter 20 Canada Goose decoys around (I don't know if you get these free in the base game or with a DLC but I had them in my inventory already.. They are NOT in the Goose DLC as I don't have it). Have a Tier 1 weapon ( .22LR is great, especially the DLC 10 round in WP1). This will make the geese come to you and as a new player it is much easier to just kill things that come to you for a while... Easy way to get enough money / rifle skill for the Hyper x4-x8 rifle scope then you can switch to bigger animals. If you don't have a .22LR just use your .243 starter rifle and FREE soft-point ammo on the Geese.. you will take a money penalty but still make 500 bucks and 27 rifle skill each goose and the .243 will one-shot a goose pretty much any shot placement.
Got the game for christmas, was excited but expecting to wait long to get my first kill, get my first kill an hour later, get another kill 30 minutes later, Deer im hunting runs away cause I get closer to get a better shot, pack of coyotes dissapears because I tried to be "patient" and follow them slowly, Class 4 deer hit by the starter rifle doesnt die despite bring hit in the lungs from about 50m away, same happens for another deer, So on, So forth. "Patience" is an understatement
Same here.. like.. I was a minute away before quitting the game completely until I found a beginners guide. I thought I didnt need one but I absolutely did.
If you struggled like me at the beginning in Horschfelden map: thats because its one of the hardest maps in the game while you have next to no perk points. Other maps are much less brushy with more open fields
Really sucks how much DLC there is, especially when the base game isn't free. One of my biggest pet peeves in gaming, especially when the content should be base-game. Hi Risky - great vids. What I'd like to know is what qualities should we look for when scoping out a herd of animals? Males, large racks etc. Does the difficulty rating have any correlation to them being a diamond or not? eg I've discovered several "Mythical" difficulty level Cape buffalo that just turned out to be Gold. Is there a chart we can print out and use to gauge the weight class of certain specimens?
So, animals like Cape Buffalo max out at level 9, or Legendary. Some animals like Whitetail Deer max out at level 3, but Blacktail deer max out at level 5. Some animals have ‘fabled’ variants which are level 10, no matter their normal max level. I recommend doing your own research or just google the max level of an animal when you see it, good luck friend.
I always look for and rare’s “ fur types” then go I go by size estimate for example a white tail could be 187-247. I would get the “ CoTW guid” it’s a app that tells you everything about the animals and what animals are on what maps, that app saves me tons of time on google to see max scores
Went looking for a beginners guide and stumbled across this video. Good video except for one thing. This was an overgeneralized non-beginner video. You mentioned a number of things which are unattainable at the beginning of the game because you don’t have any money and you don’t go over the basics of the game and how to actually hunt and track and that seems to be like one of the most basic things you would probably want to cover. Same! I feel like the reserves are barren when I set foot in there 🤣 I'll see a buck every now and again, but mainly doe. Same with moose and elk. I managed to down my first bull moose just a few minutes ago. I've seen maybe 200 moose, and only like 10 if them bulls. I don't have the caller yet so I get to crawling when I hear moose 🤣
Not sure why people find it difficult to find animals, I'm finding plenty, just gotta be careful of warning calls, once you hear one, go 1 step down in your mode, like if you are running and you hear a warning call, go crouch and follow the call, if you hear one on crouch mode, go prone. Never run unless you already shot one down and you are sure it was a good hit, run to follow the blood trail if you want. One more thing, zeroing skill, well people recommend it, but in heat of moment I end up misusing it and missing my shots, I wish I never picked the perk, its much easier to hunt without it (at least for me).
I have a bit of experience, walking through brush or equipping a backpack increase your noise level. Crouching also doesn’t make you totally silent so it’s best to move when the animal is not alert.
Must have for beginners = hunting guide apps For android: The hunter mate + cotw companion (has a time function that changes the need zones displayed as time progresses + the time follows the game time). For apple: CoTW guide by Cristiano Gimenes 👍👍👍👍👍👍
How does that make the game enjoyable when you need to use your phone too to be able to find and hunt animals.I get it this game is not for everyone(hunting simulation but sometimes it feels really like you are hunting in real life, just waiting and stuff which makes the game not enjoyable for me personaly) and it is certainly not for me,started playing it recently and i can't get into the game as i would like.I feel like there's not enough animals on the maps, there are few here and there but finding one specific species is difficult, and i do not run most of the time, take my time slowly, listen, listen for the warning calls, matting calls and all that but it is still difficult to have fun in this game, most of the time you just crouch walk like an idiot for 10-15 minutes or even more to find an animal, and then you still need to creep in slowly to get to a good spot to take the shot. The only maps that i feel have enough animals and are easy to find is yukon valley(my first two kills on yukon valley were two big male moose's near the spawn point) and the silver ridge peaks(if that's the name, dont remember really well)
Ok so i do you have a question I know the trophy area in the Taxidermy thing but what I don't understand is the save harvest section are you able to taxidermy those animals because I can't figure out how if you can I really new help

Kinda just started. Honestly have no idea what I’m doing .3. Found some dead and as they tried running I shot one of them twice in the ass. Dude didn’t care. Then I got attacked by something while looking at my map but I turned around to look for it and there was nothing there. So I’m kinda confused now

Im also a beginner but you can crawl with y and fast crawl with y+Shift i do this when the range isn‘t that far
I have a bit of experience, walking through brush or equipping a backpack increase your noise level. Crouching also doesn’t make you totally silent so it’s best to move when the animal is not alert.
As far as DLC go, in saving money: I got this game for just over $50 on the summer sale. DO NOT pay over $100 over time... be patient please
It's 8 bucks now
Do you have a video that explains the basic controls in the game like how to load your weapons and things like that. If so, would you post a link?
Hi, I just started playing this game couple days ago , Thnks for the info.. I’ll keep watching videos,, keep up the good work..
Thanks for the info ! super helpful
great vid!
30-06 for me its the one i use irl!
Thus is great and all but, how do you play the game?
Making money = hunting geese + if you have a friend you can do some easy challenges in multi player?
I tried this game some time ago and hated it.
But now that I see this and understand the kinda... Way to start so to speak, I'ma give it a try again
What rifle sight does he use ?😁
I prefer the hyperion
Yoooo oo tysm happy u commented, is that also the one in the vid right?
@@RiskyYTif not, is the Hyperion harder to get
the autorun key is good
I have >200 hours on the game, but it didn’t transfer my data from ps4 to ps5 so I’m back at the beginning lol
Great video thanks for making it.
What’s a good amo
Can you make a video how to equip bundles
My question is is the bloodhound DLC worth it
its a great tool to have but takes practice to use effectively u to build its companionship and tracking level
Must have for beginners = hunting guide apps
For android: The hunter mate + cotw companion (has a time function that changes the need zones displayed as time progresses + the time follows the game time).
For apple: CoTW guide by Cristiano Gimenes
👍👍👍👍👍👍
The only maps that i feel have enough animals and are easy to find is yukon valley(my first two kills on yukon valley were two big male moose's near the spawn point) and the silver ridge peaks(if that's the name, dont remember really well)
How do you go to the store? Please help
The stores are found at the outposts marked on the map, you can fast travel to them once you have them discovered.
I dont understand the shot placement Like there was a normal deer and i shot it right behind the shoulder and it Just didnt do anything
Just got this with the New England dlc and the bloodhound. Looking forward to it. Hunter power pack dlc is it worth buying?
Can you help me? Since the update in late 2022, finding packs of animals seams impossible. Do you hunt on story mode or is the more on Multiplayer?
Whats the map ur playing at the end?
That is Layton Lakes
@@RiskyYT thanks!
Do you need some of the dlc's to platinum the game?
Yo i just got the game!❤😂🦊🦌
Ok so i do you have a question I know the trophy area in the Taxidermy thing but what I don't understand is the save harvest section are you able to taxidermy those animals because I can't figure out how if you can I really new help
I love this game its relaxing, I hid myself that well hunting a moose it walk past me. I shot it that wasn't a good idea stomped on me near killed me. shot it again then had to track the blood and found it dead great at night all the noises of the wildlife 👍
thank you risky for the tips
My pleasure, thank you for watching :)
I got jumped by some wolfs today
On my first time playing, I shot a moose in the lungs with the 243 and ended up having to track that sucker for just over half a mile.
Oops 😬😂
Kinda just started. Honestly have no idea what I’m doing .3. Found some dead and as they tried running I shot one of them twice in the ass. Dude didn’t care. Then I got attacked by something while looking at my map but I turned around to look for it and there was nothing there. So I’m kinda confused now
Do I need to sight the rifle in first?
When I hit a bear I see lots of blood trails, sneaking after it very slowly I find 10-20 more blood spots but never find the bear??
Most likely made a non vital hit
I'm still confused on how to edit the loudout
I'm not new but still helpful
Just carry a tent around
Wait so about how far do i need to be away from a feeding ground for the animals not to hear my atv
Hi Risky, I just got the Hunter and I'm lovin' it, but please can you tell me how I get the blue glow when I'm spotting animals. Yes I know it's a noob question. Thanks in advance. PS. Your video's are brilliant and a real help.
you can change the color of the spotted animals in the Settings menu. You can spot an animal with your binoculars or later on with your scope rifle.
@@jordiscu Thanks, I'll have a look.
@@jordiscu spotting is buggy as fuck. Didn't work for me at all after the tutorial
I might be dumb, but I can’t find an option for hunter sense anywhere. Help?
I’m a beginner right now. How can I easily get money so I can get a better gun. I’m finding the game pretty difficult right now 😅
what is the best weapon from the hunter power pack/ weapon pack 8/ rifle pack???
I don't understand the need zone part
About the third animal I killed was a mythical deer. lol
zarza 10 or 7mm
Am I the only one who gets lost and twisted while tracking? I never know if im going the right way or backwards
Is there a way to go faster? Even when I run it feels slusich
I struggle to find any animals even in open areas
I lost my save and me and my friend start playing again but we dont know how to play anymore 😂
