As someone who just started playing this, I wanted to say thank you for making current versions of the starter game hints. Your videos are informative as well as entertaining.
This games is awesome. I pitched a tent near a small lake and sat in a rain storm. Made a few duck calls and watched them land on the water and just watched them. So chill.
I was helping my Grandpa get a good start on his 2nd PS4 a few months ago, so I saw it as an opportunity to experience some nostalgia on Hirschfelden, I did just that and also in about 2-3 hours got around 30k money (around 40k before buying the Hyperion) and the Hyperion Scope, the whole 2-3 hours I stayed in Rathenfeldt and only used the .357 Hollow-Points, 12GA Buckshot and .243 with Soft-Points and the Ascent Scope. Also found a 9 Legendary Red Fox but didn’t shoot it, got the zone though, I will shoot it next time I go over to his summer-house or he brings the PS4 home with him for the winter! The surrounding area where you begin in Hirschfelden is fantastic for starting out! Also, no, I didn’t hunt Canada Goose.
For the beginner series you definitely need to go over need zones and actually tell people that they won’t find animals as often as it seems in the video. When I used to start this game I always got mad because I could never find any animals because I watched you tubers and they found them all over the place.

Would be cool to see renewed map guides. I mean, that's probably not for the beginner, but rather for lower-intermediate level players, but when you explore the map, and you have tents&stands DLC, you want to spread resources effectively and have those limited amount of tents and stands put in good and right spots for making the hunting routine more effective. Personally I kinda explored the whole map already on Layton, but I still wouldn't mind a bit of guidance regarding effective ways of hunting for trophees in this area.
I don't really need this series but I love all your videos. I'm also using soft point bullets for protection from wolf attacks now because it brings them down faster
Whenever I play on a wolf map, I take the .454 cassul revolver with hollow points with this in mind. Its an important lesson when it comes to the games balance, expanding ammunition still has its use, even after getting the hard case/poly tips.
Just started playing this game. I’m terrible. Hoping these videos help me. I’ve been able to take down a bear, some black tails, and finally got my first coyote today. It’s a cool game but challenging!
The best way to lvl up is to go to hirshfelden set up 3 geese spots you can go online to find the hot spots. Then farm geese as they are unaffected by hunting pressure. It can get a lil boring after awhile but I went from lvl 42 to lvl 54 in around 8hrs play time and lvls from lvl 40 on take quite awhile for new people. If you just farm geese from the start you can get to max lvl In prob less then 30hrs playtime. Idk if this will always stay this way but currently you can blast 4-8 geese per flock with a shotgun and .22 dlc. And you can get a flock to come in around every 2-5 mins and each goose is around 120-180xp so you can lvl up very quick doing this method. This is also a great way to get pistol shotgun and rifle score extremely quickly so you can access the good scopes and the good ammo ASAP. You can also make around 300k every 4hrs doing this too for getting ur tent setups going.
Watched a few of his videos today (just getting back into playing) and the scope advice was a game changer. Shot 4 deer and 1 bear and the farthest I had to track was 40 yards. 3 dropped in their tracks.
Things that are bugging me as a hunter are: - Why is there no heart? Like that's THE vital organ you want to hit. - You only want to shoot behind the shoulderblade if you got a PFP (partial fragmentaion projectile) and not a deformation projectile. - If you'd shoot from this angle, then the bullet would go straight behind the diaphragma and hit the rumen ann/or digestive system, which you would never want to happen, because of contamination and ergo lost of venison, in some cases even the lost of the whole venison. I just think for such a simulator (which I really enjoy playing) those are some critical points to include.
Got a mela grey wolf last night plus a albino prong horn female....while listening to your videos as background noise feels like I'm playing with someone else
One way I like to level up quick is ride my quad till I come across a herd of bison, then I jump off the quad and use the 10g with slugs. Can usually get between 3-7 each attempt.
If you could do a beginner series with the dlc's would be nice, i'm an actual big game hunter and the shots are pretty much on target for real life animals, i haven't played the game yet but i'm trying to find the time, your doing a good job with the instructions for non hunters to learn, keep up the good videos
Great! i've spend like 120 hours and still not max level haha.. I was wondering if you could make a video/guide on how to hunt effeciently in stands and blinds and such. I find it really hard to find some BIIG animals to shoot because m blindly roaming around the maps. Might just be me who don't know how to use them.
I wish I found this guide series sooner... I played for a few hours and got frustrated with chasing animals and losing trails... So I bought the bloodhound and weapon pack with the 30-06. I'm dropping stuff faster and using the dog when I don't. It's improved my enjoyment of the game a lot but I'm not crazy about the 30-06, it seems somewhat innacurate. Do you have a recommended alternative? I'm mostly hunting white/blacktail and moose/elk
What no one seems to mention is scope zeroing and it is a crucial perk without it I think scope is automatically zeroed to 150 meters so if you not at 150 meters no gun will be pinpoint accurate
adding to head-on shooting of deer/elk/moose. ive been able to drop them all in a single shot of the .270 polymer with a heart shot. about as easy/hard as the neck shot
Can you explain the accuracy on the different rifle like majority are zero'd for 150 meters so dose accuracy on the different rifles matter, also as far as the recoil is a high number better or worst, also hipshot what dose that mean and is higher better or worst?
I'm loving this series because I just started playing this game on xbox game pass. It's not a game I would have ever paid attention to if I didn't have free access on game pass, but I'm really enjoying it. I don't have any DLC and I don't know if I'll invest in any TBH. If I do decide to spend some money on this game I think I'll pick it up on PC from steam. Anyway, a no DLC guide is super helpful. I'm wondering what tips you have for getting the maps to populate. I do what you said and walk around near the water, but I feel like I don't find many need zones. (I keep finding them for friggen rabbits though). Also, any tips on leveling up the shotgun so I can get rounds appropriate for rabbits and ducks?
If your hunting whitetail try walking the river around 9:30-11:30 in game time. Make sure you have your binoculars out to spot the whitetail before spooking them. In the process you'll find drinking zones!
At 1:41 the menu screen in the video doesnt seem to be maximized and its a bit more transparent than my Steam version (which takes up my entire screen.) Does anyone know if that is a setting?

I just purchased the hyperion scope it is so much better! Im now working on getting 300 grain arrows. It feels like it'll take forever to get the 3 pin sight haha. Im going to buy the recurve dlc soon
idk my problem rn is that i just dont find animals on drinking spots. it says 10-14 and i go there at 10 and watch from a mile away and nothing ever shows up. and those 4 hours are like what 30 mins? where i just watch the screen. this feels fucked up T.T

I’m not sure if you have one. I couldn’t find it if you do, but could you do a video on animals sensing you based off your noise and sound meters? Like, within how many meters at bar level 1 they can hear you for example.
Great series! I wish I would have had access to a tutorial series like this when I first started playing the game 4 years ago. I do remember that, as a beginner, I was confused for a while by the HUD ( wind, visibility, noise etc.) Admittedly, as an experienced player, I barely pay attention to the HUD other than to check wind direction and range zeroing. I may have missed it, but I don't recall you describing the information on the HUD. I know animal wariness and alert distance varies from species to species, so much of the HUD information is kind of arbitrary... but stating that a big dot in the visibility, and red in the noise meters = Bad!... could be helpful. Again, terrific series that will be very useful to ALL players :)

I would probably go with the 7mm, .243, and a shotgun loaded with birdshot :) if there's room, the .338 as well, but the 7mm can take care of the bigger game

Not new to the game but i took a break and came back. Im missing a bunch of in game things. No crossbow, .22 rifle, no geese or any geese related, and i have a couple maps that say they are installed but it wont let me play them. Any ideas?
is it console? I *thought* they had fixed it, but there was an issue where DLCs weren't showing up properly. It may be related to that? I would see about contacting support

Lol I restarted my account cause I cheated using the cheats app and my first elk was a gold the second one was also a gold lol second was a 416 14 away from a diamond for the respawn rate would he come back a diamond or would he be a little higher
So you know when you go to harvest them and it shows you the internal x-ray of the animal? You want to aim for places that do the most damage so they die quickly. Not only so you don't have to track them for hours but it also teaches ethical hunting. Heart, spine and lungs are the easiest ones to try and go for. I know some people go for brain but it's a hard shot if you don't have the zeroing perk. As far as aiming goes, between the front legs if they are facing towards you, right behind the shoulder or elbow when they are facing away from you.
I don't need the muscle memory because I have NEVER seen two animals at the same time. I see all these YT videos of herds of animals, you guys must have paid extra for that option.
honestly i thought hunting geese would be boring and slow but especially on revontuli i can get like 10k cash in like 20-30 mins so i mean you spend 3 or 4 hours hunting geese youll level up alot and get alott of cash

No, you can fast travel on Xbox as well, but you have to fast travel to an Outpost that you have unlocked, not anywhere on the map. Locate an Outpost that you have already unlocked, and the button should give you a Fast Travel option.

The river route on Layton is one of my favorite paths to hunt in the game. Soooooo many chances at animals in a north south stretch.

layton lake district's animal makes me frustrated, feels like an empty wasteland, all i can hear is growl from every direction but nothing there

Just started playing, what scope is that? I’ve seen a bunch of people using it.
I love the .308, modern rifle. It's a 4-8 I think. And or I use the 7mm its 4-9 but a 1 round shooter. Very accurate.

My biggest issue is I don’t know where to shoot animals to get a 1 shot kill. I just kinda guess since I’m so bad at the game lol
So you know when you go to harvest them and it shows you the internal x-ray of the animal? You want to aim for places that do the most damage so they die quickly. Not only so you don't have to track them for hours but it also teaches ethical hunting. Heart, spine and lungs are the easiest ones to try and go for. I know some people go for brain but it's a hard shot if you don't have the zeroing perk. As far as aiming goes, between the front legs if they are facing towards you, right behind the shoulder or elbow when they are facing away from you.
I don't need the muscle memory because I have NEVER seen two animals at the same time. I see all these YT videos of herds of animals, you guys must have paid extra for that option.
I'm new to this game, and its pretty awesome as I am an outdoors guy. This game is getting old now, when will we see a new one?
I will say if you have a pc you should check out theHunter: Classic. It’s an older game but it’s more realistic in my opinion

honestly i thought hunting geese would be boring and slow but especially on revontuli i can get like 10k cash in like 20-30 mins so i mean you spend 3 or 4 hours hunting geese youll level up alot and get alott of cash
I got the hunter call of the wild for $35.00 and it came with 12 dlc it was the Diamond bundle is what I got and it was 65.00 but it was on sale but I think the sale has end now tho

No, you can fast travel on Xbox as well, but you have to fast travel to an Outpost that you have unlocked, not anywhere on the map. Locate an Outpost that you have already unlocked, and the button should give you a Fast Travel option.

Buy them all. They are all off 70% right now. Now is the time to buy them. I bought all and it cost me like 50$
@@MrRaja back when I got them they were part of a humble bundle. Filled out the dlc I didn't have for like, what, 15 bucks. Hence why I asked for the guide.
