    Ahh it's me!! I'm the shaman healer.. I was 513 at this time, and I was just looking to farm some quick wyrm crests.. so I was quite above the required ilvl for this key.. I didn't look at the damage meter for ages until we got to the frog boss where I started to feel bad for not being able to keep the priest alive.. I thought I'm bad.. but then I saw his damage, and checked his ilvl on details and saw it's 428... and was like.."well that explains a lot" and felt tricked into the key. I would have been really mad if we had not timed it but I do understand your argument that we shouldn't have I kinda agree with you.. the gauntlet part was just a clownshow I felt really stupid trying to ress the druid but he could have just started running sooner too. Worst part as well that we didn't even have a carry for damage, the mage did fine but it wasn't amazing either.. I was gonna type "Jesus christ I can't believe we timed this" at the end..

    As for the priest, it was definitely a joke. Not a great one, but with context to earlier in the dungeon when he said that he probably needs more health, it seems clear he's not ACTUALLY blaming the healer. He's sort of joking in a way that brings blame off himself but also not the healer. His joke is "Lol I have so little health I'm impossible to heal, better blame the healer rite??"
    Which also isn't really accurate to his situation because most his deaths were totally avoidable by just not running into things. But he wasn't trying to be disparaging.
    As far as just passing the key anyway?
    Well, that's a bit harder. The other 3 in the group were playing fine. Even though the druid was dying a lot, his damage was above 100k on Khajin before he died, so explicitly single target (which for a 4 is pretty good - even if not great in high key). So despite the druid's deaths, he seems to be contributing, actually. I'm also seeing important casts get interrupted, the pulls are pretty fine.. So I guess to turn the question on its head and see a different perspective: should 2 players having a bad performance be able to pull an entire low key into non-completion for the other 3? That's I think a harder question to answer. Because the majority of the group was doing fine.

    • @ThomasBachler01
      @ThomasBachler01 Месяц назад

      you are spot on. You can also tell by the timing, he writes that when the dungeon is done and the overall is being shown. It's to avoid being called out for his abysmal low dps and remind everybody how often he was dead, but he doesn't want it to seem like he is blaming the healer, so he does this bit. That's not really unusual (not saying its good, but clearly a bad joke bit to protect his own ego from any comments)

    I just started playing WoW in February of this year and today I finally exceeded 3k pugging on my prot warrior. My first full season tanking in an MMO.
    I think the big problem with lower level players, and I saw this quite a bit in League of Legends as well, is accountability. I know that was an issue for me as well. I would always think maybe I was just in bad groups or playing with bad players that wouldn't kick, not using defensives, or doing low damage.
    In reality, I was doing a shitty route that I didn't understand how dangerous the pulls were. After a bad night, and stuck at 2700, I sat down for two and half hours and reviewed every single dungeon in MDT. Reviewed every single pull and the mobs that were included. I completely changed the pain points and made adjustments to each dungeon and gained 300 IO in two weeks.
    I accepted that I was the reason and I learned from it and took steps to change it. I don't think many of these players even get to the acceptance stage.

    No. Most people don't learn from their mistakes. To learn, basically 2 things have to happen: 1. You must take responsibility for the error. Too many people blame something else; lag, heals, tank, and never about how they positioned themselves, used defensive, interrupted the IMPORTANT cast rather than some useless cast, and 2. A bit of research/learning on what mechanics exist that you can and cannot mediate. I'll see people running their 15 azure vaults, and STILL not know how a mechanic works, because not only have they not tried to learn from it, they've just not cared. Either they were successful because it doesn't punish them enough or they're successful because someone in the group carried the bulk of the responsibility, or it failed, and they did step 1... which is to blame something else rather than their part of the responsibility. I'm not disappointed at this mind you, but only as long as they remain non-toxic. If they want to run in low keys blind and just yolo it but have a great attitude and have fun, success or failure, then fine. But pushing keys and being toxic when they bear 90% of the responsibility is social welfare of keys, and they need to carry their own weight and responsibilities.

    I'd love to know the Druid's thoughts. I only hope they understood that every death was their fault and not the healer's. I think people who spend that much time dead will either be motivated to get better or just wash out of mythic plus. The worry is the people who have no interest in getting better and maybe don't understand what a drain they are on the group. Even worse, I've come across some people who honestly believe they're entitled to participate in group content simply by virtue of reaching max level with no intentions of getting better. Pugs gonna pug I suppose.

I can’t express how much other people make me hate being a tank. I’ll play as perfect as I can and do everything to keep a group alive and yet you’ll get the the blame for DPS pulling 3 extra groups by accident or a healer getting blamed for someone not avoiding a mechanic and saying they didn’t get healed. No, they don't learn. I mean, the majority of them don't learn. You just need to watch for patterns to realise that. Even in 15s. Just take a glance how many times people don't skip properly after Stinkbreath in BH, they will run straight on the road and pull the stealthed packs, then not realise they have combat and boom, disaster happens. Fix is very easy, but people just refuse to learn that throughout the whole season. The same with the storm guy pack before last boss in Ruby, they will not pull it back from where it stands so it naturally aggroes the miniboss right nearby. xD And the fix is very easy! But if you don't spam the chat or acknowledge it in voice chat, they will not do it by themselves usually. Or dragons in RLP, absolute classic, I just hear the dragon screaming somewhere in the distance and have to grip people back so they don't pull it. xD Just look at such typical situations and recognize the pattern, even in 15+ they often do not learn and commit the same mistake the whole season. :D

    It varies person to person. I play with some very stubborn people. You can tell them all day what they need to change to be better and they won't do it (watch fights, watch better players play your class, stop clicking/keyboard turning, rotation). Some people just improve without needing to be told. It's all about what their goals are and their ability to see themselves from other people's point of view. Some people come home from work and just want to turn their brain off and play some games. They don't care how they're performing or how it affects the people around them, and they don't want to treat wow "like a job" and improve their performance. Some people strive to be better at the game, but they won't take any advice. They say they "can't" learn how to keybind "because of small hands" (a legit bs excuse I've heard). Some people think they're really good when they are in fact very horrible. Then there are people like me, who prepare and do everything they can before they even attempt. Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. Plus, to me, not coming prepared, not striving towards the groups goal is just complete disrespect of their time and mine. My guild has a group of about 5-8 people who are capable of running 14+. We have another 5-8 people who think they can participate in 14+ because the capable group of people carry them through 12's xD. Many of whom will die to improper defensive usage because they didn't take the time to understand where the damage is happening in their lower keys. So there is defnitly a spectrum, but most people fall on the "its not a job" portion of the spectrum. It is just a game, but some of us its our only game so we take it a bit more serious.

    • @heythereguysitsMetro
      @heythereguysitsMetro  Месяц назад

      I don't disagree with any of that. Just was more talking about these specific guys. He could have explained in the advertisement that he was ilvl 428 and expecting a carry, but he did not. The key took about 15 minutes longer than it should have been expected to if it had 5 people contributing.
      The issue for me is that he could easily rectify this because getting to 485 is trivial. I would be more forgiving of someome 485 trying to do a higher level key, because maybe they just got unlucky with loot so far.
