      @Dj Carlo Atendido, Man where can I start, there is a trick of transitioning a new song using echo effects on your April 3rd 2020 video. That was pretty neat, personally i used to activate echo to transition out, lol! And I have to say that my favorite video of yours is the "Star wars" theme from 2019 but I'm far far away from the level.

    In EDM genre, drop mixing is the way to go. For progressive House music, I prefer blend mixing though.

    I dj alot of dubstep genres and drop mixing like that can make things so much easier if you don't have time to beat match or que up the song right away

    • @djcarlo

      That's true! Drop mixing needs to be used more often!

    Drop mixing is fun. I mostly like blending two tracks and really living "in the mix" but sometimes certain tracks sound like they were made for drop mixing ⭐

      Just used AI ripper and now have she's a model by Kraftwerk in both formats , I have racked my brain and sample selection for something compatible with similar Camelot value tempo etc , but nothing comes to mind . As I am doing this project on mobile using we-dj app and reeloop app do you have any suggestions . Melodic deep / ethnic house is where I presently find myself . I just wanted to say
    This channel
    And dj ready school (I believe that's what it was called) have helped me out so much in picking up a DJ controller last spring and making my own mixes and playing live at kickbacks for friends. And it has really saved me from going crazy when raves and music events were stopped the to covid. I still may not be anywhere near to some of you people's skill, but I've have a blast with what I've been doing and HIGHLY recommend anyone interested in learning to give a shot. Sure it might take some time to learn but you'll progress quickly.... Also don't forg5 to press record you'll be amazed with what you can blend together.
    Have fun!

    Hi, very nice tricks 👍 I have a question.. Is there a rekorbox controller that lets you trigger three effects on one deck? Rekordbox has this option .. I have a ddj-400 which can trigger only one effect and FX pads .. Will buying an additional XP2 controller for the ddj 400 will be a good solution? Is it better to buy a new high-end controller? (what?)

    • @djcarlo
      @djcarlo  3 года назад +1

      Oh good question! An XP2 will help, but some remapping my be done to accommodate your specific needs. To save money, you can try remapping your controller to do specific stuff!

      Ddj 400 on amazon for $280 comes with stand, headphones, and rekordbox license which is normally about $130 alone so great deal. However you'll have to order monitor speakers separately and I highly suggest getting a macbook of you don't have one already. You can find good used ones on offer up for around $700 the lowest I've seen in my area. Hope this helps. ⭐

      I second the recommendation for the DDJ-400. Wouldn't want to assume too much about you, but I think the price wouldn't be too hefty for most. Wouldn't know about the Mac thing though - I've been going at it with a PC and it works just fine, but then again I've never tried Mac; maybe it really is better. Speakers needn't be too high end if you're practicing at home either! An even cheaper option would be the DDJ-200, but people tend to outgrow its functions real fast. Good luck!

    Sir, in a long gig say of about 4 hours how to have the crowd dancing ?(at an average how many songs do we need to play and at an average how many different transitions shall we try ?)

    • @YoJKz
      @YoJKz 3 года назад +1

      I was mixing a medium of 6 hours per gig, for 6 years. For 4 hours you need about 80-100 songs, depending on how long you want to keep them playing. Also, depends on the transition and everything else. Also, better to keep about another 100 tracks for any case.
      You can try 3-4-5 type of transitions per gig.

    • @djcarlo
      @djcarlo  3 года назад

      there are so many factors that come to play really! You have to know the crowd you're playing for and read them while performing so you can adjust and keep 'em interested. Always have enough songs in your pocket. Best of luck!
