I was at that Braves game where Elly hit the cycle. That's as close to a playoff atmosphere as you can have for a game played in June. Best game I've ever attended and I went to plenty of games in 2012 when they won 97 games.
I've heard so many wholesome comments from Braves fans from that game. Between their awesome team and fan base I definitely think I'll have to make braves my secondary team .
I was there too
That game was amazing. The Padres game might have had a higher climax than that game tho. Reds were down in twice in extras and hit 2, 2 run HR to win
@@carsandsports123 Braves fans were great. I sat next to a Braves fan and we chatted for the entire game. A lot of my friends are originally from Georgia, so in a way the Braves are my second team.

The Reds, Orioles and D-Backs are the perfect example of how to do a rebuild properly.
Reds/Orioles would be a dream World Series for a fan like me.
@@elbob17 #GoJays😂. One of the two in the World series would be nuts!
It only took the Reds about 3 tries to finally get generational talent in the org
And the Rays are an annual example of how to build and maintain a team on a limited budget.
@@Whitesquall123How?
As someone who went to the game where they lost the streak, even though we lost the atmosphere was still electric. I’m so glad the reds are finally a relevant team and the city loves it too
If the Reds win the division. I want to see what happens in the postseason.
Not sure if we have the starting pitching to go deep into the playoffs. But it would be great for the city for them to just make it this year.
@@carlmay9532I’d hate to see anyone go, but the Reds need starting pitching badly.
@@carlmay9532considering they did this with their two big young starters that were considered the high point at the beginning of the year have been hurt, the rotation definitely hasn’t been as good as it could/should be. But even with them healthy they definitely need another starter.
Braves gonna sweep
They probably just need a solid innings eater at the back end of the rotation. With their young starters coming back from injury, they're going to be better.
They're very young, but this team seems to have the "IT" factor. If they can take the division and keep up this level of play, then they have a shot to beat anybody. They did lose to the Braves in that series, but each game was decided by a single run, and were extremely competitive. They've shown that they can hang with the big boys.
Ahh, the great example of, "If you win, they'll show up."
Most of us have already been showing up, but man, it's fun to see home packed again.
Go Redlegs baby
Cincinnati is the city redefining professional sports. Just think about all the pain Bengals and Reds fans have been through the past several decades. This is absolutely a story book story with these teams. Unbelievable
As a reds fan my whole life (whos interest went from faithful but distracted by other things in life to dedicated again around 2017) I can say that the pain has been real. It felt like I was a masochist. Every time I nearly burned out, there would be like 1 cool thing that would refan the flame.... Lorenzons dad dedication HR.... Scooters 4 hr game.... Puigs walk off heads up baserunning defeat of the brewers in extras.... Deitrichs Pirate Pimps.... Castellanos Flex..... but overall in general its been a painful 6 years. I have literally been in awe, loving everything about 2023 since late may
Not to Mention FC Cincinnati finishing dead last for the first 3 years upon entering the league, and now are frontrunners to win it all!
take a look at miami real quick
wht cant this be the jets lol
As a Reds fan it feels like we won the lottery getting Elly De La Cruz!
This season has been a thrilling ride.
HUGE KOK SLAPPED ON A MAN'S FACE
I'm a Rangers fan, and I felt awful when they got swept by the Reds in Cincinnati back in April, especially since they blew massive leads in two of the games. The Reds were in last place when the series started, and given how Cincinnati lost 100 games last year it seemed like an embarrassment for a team that was supposed to be up and coming contenders. However, perhaps that series was a harbinger of the Reds' success.
As a rangers fan yes😭i did to
Making the bases bigger was a god send for baseball.. so glad to see more chances of scoring from second or third without multiple hits..
Possibly...
The epitome of a team full of hungry rookies and a few veterans who play the game the right way are all you need to win
Love to see this for Votto after everything he’s done and gone through for the Reds they owe him at least a fair deal and to be a Red for life
the thing that has ALREADY made ely one of my favorite reds ever is how hard he works to get on base. he doesn't see he made bad contact and jog towards first as the ball goes directly to an infielder like SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE DO. he runs as hard as humanly possible to try and get on base anyway. it's sort of rare to see this kind of thing and i love it so much. give me watching ely leg out an infield single over watching a home run any day. it's so much more exciting. he plays hard every play. he plays smart when he's on the bases.
THICK GIRTHY KOK HALF ERECT WAVING IN THE WIND
legit the best two weeks of my life
You provide so much drama in such an awesome way with your editing; especially with the sound. Fantastic video👌
Thank you!
Seriously, one of my favorite people to watch now!!
❤23.
If the reds end up winning the division, it might be one of the most improbable runs to the postseason in history
Would be special. I don't think they have the pitching to get it done this year, unfortunately. I'm not a hater, I watch them every night.
I think I heard that if they do it, they will be first team to go from 100 lose season to winning their division
@@elbob17 I’m a Red Sox fan. besides, you may never know
@@elbob17Dawg did you not watch the video? They have beaten some of the beat teams in baseball, idk what would make them suddenly stop? They’re young, but what the fuck does that matter they’re great players
@@elbob17 Greene is coming back soon so… maybe…
I'm not a Reds fan, but I hope they keep doing well. it's been many years since there was much to celebrate in Cincy. Also, those black uniforms are absolutely great!
Big shoutout the Fraley, I loved him in Seattle and I’m happy to see him find a place in Cinci
The reds have gone from worst to first potential in a season. Unbelievable and it’ll be something I tell my grandchildren about when I’m in my 80’s
^Currently 79^
It really did feel lucky we took 2/3 in Cincy, especially since they've only lost 1 other series since my Bravos came to town. The main reason we survived despite throwing out a bunch of rookies in the 3 starts we had there is because while the Reds lineup has been exceptional, they ran into the 1 lineup that is better than theirs.
And even then, the entire series was decided by 1 run and a clutch game-ending double play with the tying run on 3rd in the rubber match. Yeah, that series gave me gray hairs.
Refreshing to see a new face atop the Central, though.
Great video! As a Reds die hard fan, I haven't been this excited about a team in years.
Thank you! It's awesome to see a fun Reds team again
No one could have seen this story coming at the beginning of the year. Thank for the post.
I'm Twins fan but my favorite player was always Todd Helton. Anyway if any other team other than the Twins I think I'd like to see the Red's win the World Series, mainly for Joey Votto. I love to see the good guy get a ring.
as a reds fan ican't remember the last tme i was so happy watching this team!
That ball had a family!
I’ve been to over 700 Reds games. Went to 50 in 2010. If the Reds can actually win a playoff series, I don’t even know how to finish this sentence that’s how foreign the idea is to my 31 year old self. Let me just say it makes me feel real good any time I see the stands full
How exciting this team is. Gotta root for a team that hasn't seen much since that Unbelievable sweep of the Oakland A's. Middle market teams that are successful in building their farm system to put out competitive teams are way underrated and to see such teams doing well you just got to root for them.
They are a really fun team, so good for baseball.
As a Cincy resident, all of our sports teams are just popping off right now suddenly. We got the Reds, the Bengals, FC Cincinnati, even the Bearcats popping off. Hell, even my own sport of Ultimate frisbee has representation with the Cincinnati Omen club team being #8 in the regular season. It’s amazing, since our sports teams were all super disappointing for DECADES. It’s good to be a cincy fan right now!
We could even be looking at a championship for the first time since 1990 real soon. Who knows?
I think the Reds should ride out what they got. Dont make a big push now, they have a core developing right now, they need to keep riding that and not chase the shiny rentals.
The giants had a 10 game win streak with a lot of insane moments but it got completely overshadowed by this and nobody talks about it
I'm from New York City, I'm a Reds fans now!!! They have made me enjoy MLB baseball again ⚾
Been waiting for this for a while. Go reds! Let’s hope we keep it up into the post season
I’m glad the Reds are actually good this year! Thanks SportStorm!
McClain has been a mf monster for us... What a time to be a Cincinnati sports fan! ❤🖤🧡
The Reds will finally be good again. They look like a very exciting team. Maybe they make the playoffs this year. All that young talent on a national stage will be welcome to any fan of the game. I'm not a Reds fan, but I'm certainly a fan of how they've been playing. Just get some more pitching and they'll be good/great for a long time.
Being there live at the sell out was the best moment of my life
This video evoked a cycle of emotions. Nice reel for real.
Very well done!
Absolutely FIRE VID!!! Just waiting for the Rays nextzzzz
Top tier as always man!
In Cincinnati, during rain delays, instead of showing games from the 75 world series etc...they showed that Friday night game against the Braves. Over and over and over. I think they're still showing it, and we're midway through 2024 now.
Wow what a fun team, what a smart gm targeting speed & defense esp considering their stadium is so hitter friendly. My diamondbacks are fun too. It seems like there is such a healthy atmosphere of teams capable of competing which makes for great baseball.
Love your video!!
Great energy from the Reds announcer
"That ball had a family!".... hahaha love Sadak
That was awesome!
Amazing video man go reds
Great video. Very well done
They're just like the O's from 2022. Just a young, over achieving fun team to watch.
I don't know man just because the O's fell off last year doesn't mean this red's team will. Keep in mind this winning streak happened with two of the Reds best young pictures out due to injury. Nick Lodolo is going to come back in August. Yeah his ERA looks a bit rough right now, but that is really due to just 2 poor starts. He was a good pitcher last year at a 3.68 era and other than those 2 bad starts he looked like he was going to replicate that level of play.
Hunter Greene will be back around that time too. He's hovering around a 4.0 era but once again before he was injured he was looking like he was getting back in the groove too.
If they can just remain competitive until those two come back that should be good enough to bolster the rotation to the point where it's at least solid to good rotation.
Then if they can trade for a single solid Innings eater, then they could be even BETTER come September.
@@DonRavioli92 The O's didn't fall off, they just play in a much, much tougher division. Let the Reds play the Jays, Yankees, Red Sox and Rays 76 times and see how their record looks. lol. The O's also had a much lower payroll last year than the Reds do this year.
Good breakdown.
I’m glad the Reds are actually good this year! Thanks SportStorm!. I’m glad the Reds are actually good this year! Thanks SportStorm!.
The reds are crazy talented, honestly you love to see it no matter what team you like
As a White Sox and Brewers who has been to countless big games over decades, I'm now only a lukewarm sports fan. We went to our 1 game of the year with a group from my wife's work. When De La Cruz stole home after swiping 2nd and 3rd I yelled, "Wow, was that exciting!" It was mostly quiet there in the LF bleachers. I then said, "He pulled a Molitor! I've never seen that live before!"
As a former coach, baserunning was my #1 priority and we often stole wins. Reds have a future superstar there.
I love the versatility these players have. You can almost plug them in anywhere.
as a reds fan i’m just along for the ride lol
Same! No matter the outcome I’m proud of them. It’s awesome to see.
as a reds fan i still don’t think we’ll make it to the postseason we’re good enough to but we will more than likely blow our chances and be like the pirates earlier this season
Nice vid....I dig it...
The 2023 Reds are MLB equivalent of the NHL’s 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres. Nobody expected them to be good, but they have tons of young, talented players and started playing completely erratically, going on winning streaks and losing streaks completely at random and teetering on the precipice of making the playoffs.
Somethin special goin on in Cinci man
Sooo many good games last year
Well made
W video. W info. W Reds.
That ball had a family! Too funny!
I mean the Reds announcer is so hyped up I can see why ppl would rather watch from home.
Super fun seeing a team like this have a meteoric rise to being a playoff contender. I hope they take that weaker division
i was at the game when Joey played his first game all season to take my dad for father’s day and joeys home run ball landed 5 rows in front of us, this reds team is special
If they get more stability in the rotation they’ll have a legitimate shot. So crazy what the Reds have done.
They just drafted 2 pretty good pitchers in the first and 2nd round.
They have 2 good pitchers coming back from injury in August. That could be massive. They've got some good starters right now in Andrew Abbott and Ben Livley. If they can stay healthy and get back those two pitchers then the rotation will be looking pretty good honestly.
Andrew Abbott, Ben Livley, Hunter Greene, and Nick Lodolo as your 1-4 is Actually a pretty good rotation.
@@DonRavioli92Reds aren't going to make it to the postseason...
@@rustyshackelford4224 why not? They're in a very weak division and are very hot with important players coming off the DL in late August, just in time for the playoff push.
It's not like they're a lock but to say they're just not going to make it is a little foolish. Are you a brewers fan or something?
I'd be happy just watching the braves and reds play the rest of the season!
LETS GO REDS
It's scary watching a rebuild work. Most of the time you see glimmers, and then a break out.
This is a team that might be here for a while
That Nolan Arenado high five looked silly as fuck
That braves game was sold out 2 times over. I bought tickets on a 3rd party site 1 week before for $65. My tickets were refunded while on my way to Cincinnati. The seller obviously sold them on another site for 3 times the amount I paid. Sorry ended well though, it was my 7 year old sons first Reds game and we were able to get standing room only tickets. Amazing game.
Don’t forget Pete Rose bet on the Reds to win the World Series as the first legal sports bet in the state of Ohio
I was a Rockies fan at joeys return game…. Pain
This is the year! The Reds have proven that can beat, and sweep the best teams in baseball, including the reigning world series champs.
If we can hold things together and not let the Brewers pull too far away then i think the Reds can go ask the way. Why not? I mean they are breaking records every game. I feel. I've been a Reds fan forever and I'm telling you, this is the first of many years going deep into the playoffs, if not taking it all.
I love living in Downtown Cincinnati. I got my reds to the left and my Bengals to the right.
good video
another big series vs the Brewers....this will show where the Reds are...haven't said that in a LOOOOOOONG time....go Reds
Great video, just kinda sad you missed the Will Benson walk off bat flip....
We reds have been threw over a decade of pain so yeah crowds were down it's hard to watch your favourite team lose 100 games we knew they would be goodayne next year no one thought this would happen life is good in Cincy sports for first time in like 30 years.
Cubs fan here. If they weren't in the division, I'd have a few jerseys by now 😂
If the reds broke baseball with a 12 game winning streak….. I can’t imagine what the 2017 Cleveland Indians did. 22 games in a row.
The Karcher game was the moment I fully bought into this team. That was the most improbable win lol.
De La Cruz is the answer to the question of what if you gave a player Ichiro’s speed, David Ortiz’s power, and Yoenis Céspedes’ cannon arm
I unfortunately was at the game we lost the streak. Great game tho. I really hope we make the playoffs cause this team has a different kind of magic
Babe wake up, SportsStorm just uploaded
as a reds fan who intensely watches prospects, i am truly sorry for posting how i thought McClain would be a huge bust.
It takes a strong man to admit when he is wrong.... I said the same thing about Winker in like 2018-2019
@@jaycottrell8260 well you were right eventually
I hope they get into the playoffs.
I agree with the majority of your analysis; nevertheless, the potential of their " jelling " together with the possible fresh new starting pitcher or two would be difficult to overcome.
That O’s standing comparison isn’t really fair to the O’s and kinda makes the reds look better than they are. Theres only a 4 game difference between them at the all star break the O’s were just in a STACKED division, i mean the reds would barely be 3rd if you swapped them and the O’s would be second. They are in the exact same boat, the NL Central just sucks
Could you make a video about the 2014 Angels? The only time Trout made it to the postseason and never since.
"That ball had a family" has to be a contender for best call of the season.
They also got Cam Collier coming up!
Not a reds fan but I love to see the bad teams eventually rise up. Hope they make a trade and go for it
People need to realize it wasn’t just the 12 game winning streak that put us in the position we are now. They won 5 in a row right before that & just had another 5 game winning streak afterwards.
3:02
Took a lot out of me not to spit up my drink after hearing that
Wooooow, so shocking that the reds are soooo good. They are gonna go bad later on.
My Dad's a Reds fan and I'm a Cubs fan, I love seeing the Reds do good for him even more than my Cubbies playing well. But the Cubs are the only team in the division with a positive run differential. They should be in it but they're not.
