  • In this video about pelvic organ prolapse repair recovery, I share a few tips and tricks that helped me survive the first few weeks after my surgery. To name a few: Bathrobe catheter tie up for my suprapubic catheter, bucket drainage, the use of pillows for comfort, using a showerhead for removing vaginal packing, peri bottle usage, etc. In this video, I also share the products that I feel were the most useful in my recovery.

So glad you sharing all your wisdom!❤
I am 5 weeks post surgery. Think I have had all same but the bladder sling.
THings seem a bit different in australia. They are very anti bladder slings here.
I had vaginal hysterectomy (anchored at tail bone ligament) more painful but they reckon better strength for the long term.
recto and cesto prolapse repairs. kept my one ovary.(already lost one a few years ago that was diseased)
The pain and fragility was off the charts not gunna sugar coat it.
Only had a catheter for over night immediately after surgery. and a vaginal pack same removal time. just overnight.
They had me up and at em for loo breaks from day 1 including poo.
I had complications the vaginal pack had stuck to my vaginal ceiling and the nurse ripped IT OUT AND MADE ME HEOMRAGE. had to go back to surgery to get it repaired and they never replaced the vaginal pack.
They were excellent in treating the poo situation. macrogol is amazing!!! it hydrates your poo with out scouring your bowels or making you have to push too hard..highly recommend this.
my cestocele was so bad my bladder came outside my body htrough my vagina after a 60 pound weight loss. my body muscles just couldnt keep up with the fat loss and became unstable and hence the surgery.
I like you, found heat felt amazing.
But what I am doing is a infa red ray lamp! its incredible ladies....the healing it brings. highly recommend. easy to find on amazon or ebay etc.
I alternated my time between this and sitting on a cold pack.like fold it like cylander and straddle it.
it helps keep everything gravity is trying to sabotage up where you want it. especially do this after a little walk around etc.
Another tip...I had to buy them from america you guys are so much further ahead then we are here with this stuff but the boy leg prolapse support pants on amazon...OMG....GET THEM..
    they are a god send.
Listen to your body.....good luck anyone doing this. you won't regret getting help.
But recovery can not be rushed. Its key to your success 🙂💛

Another thing, here they want' it' DRY AS CAN BE. 6 Weeks.
I didn't shower for 4 weeks. Just had a sponge wash every everyday with a damp cloth and soap.
They want the prolapse stitching and scarring (healing) dry as wet sabotages the strength building.
Got through with zero infections 🙏Wonder if the dry enviroment helped avoid this possibly.
think the catheter is a big instigater of infection. But I am not a dr, thats just my uneducated opinion!

I'm so glad I found your videos! You have provided so much information and I have compiled a list of questions for my pre-op appointment. I also feel empowered with the knowledge you are sharing which makes this experience a little less scary.

This is very helpful to me. Had all three as you, dealing w urine out put. It had. It been flowing normal. Had to go back today and reinsert catheter. Dr drained a liter of urine. Per Dr go back this week Friday to remove. And of course if it does not work again, goes back in. But think this is so bad. He mentioned another procedure that would help this. Any information you have to help me is appreciated.

Is TBT the same as TVT (tension-free vaginal tape)?
Sorry, but I couldn't find anything about this abbreviation using the German Google search!?
And why do you have that urinary catheter through your stomach? I've never seen anything like this here!? Not that I'm in the medical profession, but I've been thinking a lot about the topic of pelvic floor and organ prolapse lately because it affects me too. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to watch all of your videos anymore, so I don't know if you've already mentioned it somewhere, but I'd be interested to know exactly what was done and what your preliminary findings were?
Kind regards from Munich, Germany and thanks a lot for sharing your experiences.
    Sonia

I’m sorry if it sounded like TBT, but I was in fact saying TVT. Tension free vaginal tape.
The suprapibic catheter was necessary for my TVT sling, while the swelling went down and my body learned to push urine past the new tape. I had it for ten days.
