    There's one thing to be aware of: when creating a waypoints while flying, the altitude of a recorded waypoint will be set relative to homepoint altitude. If you then try to fly that mission from a home point on a different altitude, the drone will fly at different absolute altitude than during the original flight. This can result in drone running into obstacles due to flying too low.

    The perceived speed of 6mpg is faster in close quarters and slower as you move away. Being able to adjust the speed at each waypoint would let us "speed ramp" the video during capture instead of post. Doing it in post isn't as good because the altered speed of objects on the ground is obvious and distracting.

    POI is a powerful feature few videos cover. Most videos simply show adding a waypoint, but not much else. I used Litchi Mission Planner for many years and prefer the desktop application to plan and save missions. Setting up waypoints with the Mini 4 Pro requires repeated flights to set up and then check videos. I burned through two extended flight-time batteries to plan a simple 8-point mission.

      I am totally with you on this request however, DJI at this moment has no incentive to add waypoints to the mini 3 pro as it would cut sales of the mini 4.

      Seriously, kinda pisses me off DJI always withholds features that could easily be added with a firmware update, opting instead to bring out an entirely new drone every 6 months. So if all you want is one feature, you have to buy the new drone. 🙄

      Sorry to hear but at the same time sort of happy to hear no offence because of that I feel made the right choice. Started with a mini 2 SE and was actually looking to get a 3 Pro but it was hardly available, so I bought the mini 4 Pro. Still feel if you own a 3 Pro waypoints should be something that drone could handle if I'm not mistaken I think I read somewhere waypoints workfor hyper-lapse on the 3 Pro? Then if so why not in normal mode?

    It's nice to be able to adjust Heading or Gimbal Tilt after the waypoints are recorded, but there's no good way to do it. For example, how do I navigate to Waypoint 3 and stop there in order to change these values -- visually? I think we're really left to guess what those numbers mean and set them accordingly, maybe by comparing with adjacent waypoints.

    The part about setting the POI altitude to a height between the subject and takeoff point was too vague. "Relative" needs to be defined. The Waypoints heights in this example were bot 91.6 while the POI altitude was 63. How was the 63 derived?

    waypoint issue , flying from a low hight waypoint 1 to a higher waypoint 2 , the Mini 4 takes a downwards curve from 1 to 2 , same as it takes an outwards curve when doing corners , that could easy lead to a loss of the drone i,e taking it too low crossing over a road or a river with trees on the bank , I just want it to take and upwards slope when low to high , oh and maybe a new option for straight line changes where it pauses then turns towards the next point , same as the choice Litchi gives you.

    How do you set waypoints between #1 and the end waypoint, to take photos every so often? Let's say I have 10 waypoints and I select "start recording" on waypoint #1 and "end recording on waypoint #10. If I set waypoint #2 to "take photo", I'm only getting video footage from waypoint #1 to waypoint #2 and that's all. What am I doing wrong?

    Question: when fine tuning the waypoint and POI at 7'20'' it says "adjust the POI altitude to the relative altitude between the subject (POI) and the take off point". In doing so, we see that Waypoint 1 is at 91.6m (waypoint 2 is at 91.9m) and then the POI is adjusted from 94 m to 64m. What does that mean exactly? that the drone will go down to 64m over the POI? I have tried doing it but it doesn't quite do the same. Actually, the gimble does kind of a spin but not as sharp as in this video. Any advice? Thanks

    Great tutorial, it is very informative and well done!. I have a DJI MIni 3 Pro and some of these options are not available. For example, I would like the drone to stop recording once it reaches the last waypoint and then return home. I can't set the parameters as you describe (e.g. hovering time once it reaches a given waypoint). When I tap on the waypoint, it goes away (it shows a "trash" icon). Please let me know if there is a way to do so using my DJI Mini 3 Pro. Thanks in advance!.

    As of firmware 00200 (in Mini 4) / 10/24/2023 the Waypoint Flight isn't working right. For one thing, the elevation gets messed up, even if you take off from the exact same spot and/or fly the drone to within a foot or so of Waypoint #1. The Mini 4 starts the mission, descends to 3 feet or so and then says obstacle detected and stops the mission, even though Waypoint #1 was 6 or 8 feet up. And the mission also fails with "obstacle detected" even in Sport Mode where the sensors are "disabled". I think for big long waypoint missions that are high off the ground you wouldn't be able to tell if it's off a bit and you'll get a nice smooth video. But Waypoint Flight doesn't seem ready for more intricate missions. This is nowhere close to being as good as Skydio Keyframe.

    There is something I couldn't figure out,
    How to edit a waypoint you already set in the middle of many points in a path , for example you noticed that one point need to be higher or insert a point in between two other points to smooth the move ??
    Only option I have is delete .. and as in the above scenario I need to delete all the next ponits and redo them again .
    Second comment is the accuracy while repeating is not good.. and you'll be lucky by repeating many times to match the targets you're trying to record.. many times target will be out of the center of the screen

    • @SteveMartinUSA

    • @SteveMartinUSA
      @SteveMartinUSA 8 месяцев назад +1

      I’d think you could drag the waypoint around on a map, and then adjust the elevation the way that was described here. For inserting a new waypoint in the middle: maybe you could figure out where the new waypoint would go and then delete the waypoints after that, and then add new waypoints after? But what I’m finding is there are very few waypoint missions that are good enough to save for later. I’d rather start off fresh for most of them. For a construction progress video you’d need to make sure you have everything set right the first time. That wouldn’t have been true of my Air 2s since the battery life was so short. But I’m getting really long flight times on the high capacity Mini 4 batteries.

    🔴🔴🔴Hey @DJI, if you are priorising the enterprise SDK releases over the consumer ones. Why the Mini 3/Mini 3 Pro already have the SDK and not the Mavic 3 series that are older than the Mini 3 series?
    Now that you have confirmed the communication of the REQUIREMENT (NOT SUGGESTION) about releasing the Mavic 3 Consumer SDK to your technical team, WHICH IS THE RELEASE DATE???
    I remember you that at launch of the original Mavic 3, you promised the SDK in your MSDK roadmap and nowadays we have nothing, because you are only protecting your enterprise series.
    If we are never gonna get it, for me DJI is dead and you will never see an euro from my pocket again.🔴🔴🔴

    If you set OA to by pass (vs brake) why would the drone brake instead of performing a by pass per the settings. Assuming your statement is correct, don't you think this "non-intuitive behavior" deserves some sort of explanation?
    Also @1:32 you recommend creating your waypoint mission while in flight to ensue the framing is what you want it to be (OK got that) AND to avoid flying into the obstacles along the route. Earlier in the video you suggested setting the OA to "by pass" or "brake" to avoid running into obstacles, if you've done that then you shouldn't really run the risk of running into an obstacle, right?

    • @thevans98
      @thevans98 9 месяцев назад

      @@OliBaitsMediaI assume that it’s just referring to that fact that any heights you set are heights relative to your takeoff location, not some fixed level (such as mean sea level).
      In other words, you can set a waypoint to have an altitude of 100 m, but that’s the height above your take off level. If you take off from somewhere 25 m above sea level then the drone will reach 125 m above sea level. If you come back and fly the same waypoints but take off from somewhere 15 m above sea level then the drone will only be 115 m above sea level when it reaches that waypoint.
      That’s my understanding at least, hope that makes sense!

      I think this means set the POI altitude to the elevation of object above the ground. For example, if the home point is the lawn in front of my house and I want to use the top of my chimney as the POI, I would set its altitude to ~9m since that's its height above ground. When the drone flies over at 30m (above ground level), it will keep the gimbal pointed down to the 9m altitude.
