Everyone that owns any of the waypoints capable drones owe it to themselves to at least understand the fundamentals of creating a waypoints mission and practice creating them for the experience. I for one found the touch screen to be a challenge when trying to make inputs and changes to the myriad of parameters. Maybe my layer of screen protector is the culprit or just my cruddy finger tips that’s making it difficult but when I do finally get it right the results are so satisfying. Hey Phillip thanks for the comment. I don’t usually have a problem with the screen method but I suppose that the type of screen protector could play a part. Mine doesn’t. It is a great feature and glad you find the videos useful 👍 thanks 🙏
To be fair, the RC2's screen isn't very responsive. Especially when it's cold out (cold fingers, dry skin).

I experienced the same problem and bought some cheap special pencil to control touchscreens. Problem solved!

Hi Nobby , this is David near Llangollen North Wales , God bless you for making this look so easy , I must with one of these I am an absolute beginner with these ever so complicated looking small little drones.
Where would ou try this out first , like in some big field somwhere ? I would shoot the pontcysylte aquaduct right close to me ,ha ha ! but I think first a safe plan! Thank you I am a new subsciber because I like you ,and the first clear video ive seen on waypoints for the dji 4 pro

Very nice. Have one question. If you start a waypoint mission and the aircraft loses connectivity will it finish the mission or abort it and return home?
Here in the uk we have to option to tell it to complete the mission. This option is not available in Europe unfortunately . Hope that helps 👍

Thanks 🙏 the only way you can do it on the mini 3 pro is to use a third party app like Maven or litchi. They won’t bring it in for the 3 because of the lack of sensors 👍

Something I'm wondering about is if when the drone is flying from one way point to the next, does the drone gradually interpolate the instructions (such as altitude or gimble) between points or hold those instructions fixed until the next waypoint is reached?
Yes it gradually drops or raises to the next waypoint 👍
Nice informative video; thanks for posting. I recently bought the Mini 4 Pro. At 1"53" at the "On signal lost"-setting, you mention and use the option "Continue". I don't see (in the Netherlands) that option on my controller. Maybe it is region dependent?

@@nobby-green Yes I'm in the global settings. I found another post (from MK - Creator: "DJI Mini 4 Pro - Waypoint Tutorial - START HERE!" at 8'53") that doesn't show the "continue" option as well. Strange, indeed; I have to find out, because continue seems a very usefull option for me too.

@@bertschoofs8494 I’m not quite sure what’s here. The manual clearly states on page 41 you can select on signal loss. Might be worth contacting DJI for their opinion. Unless it’s location based?

Quick question buddy, have you managed to find the 360 degree bottom in pictures ?? I see the 180 etc but not 360 any help ??

The mini 3 pro doesn’t have waypoints I’m afraid but when DJI fully release the full sdk then the third party apps will cover it 👍
ok, so i have my RC2 controller. (mini disconnected), When I press the map button no map appears. Strong wifi, has something changed or are you doing something to bring up map ? Ie map is just blank screen.
Are you connected to WiFi? Swipe down twice and check your connection

Surely an engaging video.
Using waypoints it's possible, but illegal, to fly beyond "line of sight". It's even possible to fly outside the radio range. However, "find my drone" will be out of the picture.
Programming computers for 50 years, programming the drone doesn't feel interesting, at least not for a Mavic 3 pro.
Waypoints are not illegal 🤷♂️ and I had visual line on sight 🤷♂️ but I guess it’s possible for those that want to do it 👍
@@nobby-green Yes, Your flight was surely according to the regulations. However, sitting in the armchair, dreaming and plotting waypoints I suppose it's easy to go too far away.
