Nice save there, Phillip.... That probably would have been a pain in the neck to try and install after you’d already gotten the welding done... it definitely would have taken way longer than it did doing it this way.... just goes to show, rushing into things, isn’t always going to get the job done faster.... Take care and be well, my friend...
That's right, my first plan was to cut the latch in last, but after doing it this way, I realize that would have been a lot harder. Have a good one friend!
Every time I watch your videos, I miss my Model A more and more, dang I need to get me another one! Pretty precision work there fitting in that latch, it’s really coming together! Enjoyed the video, have an awesome week Phillip! ☕️
I agree...smart move making the modifications while the patch was easily manageable! 'Looking forward to seeing the welded-in panel! NOW I know what to look for when I install that latch kit in my project! Thanks for sharing, Phillip! Bro Harry
Thanks for watching Harry. Hope you learned something about the latch setup that is useful to you. I’ll be welding in it soon. I am so ready to move on to a different project. I saw where you emailed me. I’ll respond to that later this evening!
Wow we all been were ya are thought something was missing and then ahh light bulb comes think ya understand now ya got it before you went to far carry on Phil ya got this looks great and thks for sharing keep them coming later from Canada 🇨🇦 SK later 😊
Hey Phil...an idea. What if a guy was to get one of those really small diameter paint rollers....adapt and affix to a contoured pole . In order to roll in a coat of heavy sound deadening coating on the inside walls before you button up that end piece? If it works....then I'll do it! Nice lock/latch install!
@@yobop6072 yes, it was a rumble seat car. From what I have read, all special coupes had rumble seats, so there wont be many others out there with a trunk like mine. I think I'll get much more use out of the trunk.

Nice work! Good thing that you noticed the handle/latch issues at this point, not after the patch was welded.
That's right!
Well done! Persistence pays off 😊
Yes it does.

Yes sir, we have all been there.
If you lost a screw, you'll probably find it with your knee, that's what I tend to do.
Haha, that sounds about right LOL.

That would probably work. But do you think the pray in kind would work also? Have you seen the coating Eastwood has that sprays out of a long tube?
Nice job....mount it before you fully weld it ....see if it will latch smoothly
Great idea, except that there is no latch portion on the car side yet. I have to install that also LOL.
@@phillipshotrodgarage that's right, that was a rumble seat ride, so you can fine tune it to the trunk lid latch....

Two shots of vodka are probably healthier than anything related to the rona lol great vid phil, had to watch it in two parts, elk season is here!
Elk season… ah, I understand.

We don't have Elk here, but the whitetails are plentiful.
