+Ola Englund Is there a chance you would do a tutorial on how you go about EQing amps? The tone you pulled out of this amp is proof that you can make anything usable. I spend hours trying to dial my amp in, so I'd appreciate some pointers!
That was the advertisement from Randall but i dont think Dime even used these things. I think he kept on running the Randall rg100 and century after this.
@@TyCorr 15s fart out a whole lot more than 12s. Just sayin... There's a reason why pretty much every pro bassist out there uses 10" speakers. The bigger the cone is, the flubbier the lower-frequencies get. Harder to keep a big cone under control than it is with a smaller one.
I had one of the cabs for these back in the day. It honestly made any amp I put behind it sound amazing. After seeing this demo, I'm not sure if it could make the warhead sound amazing.
Sounds pretty good with the pedals. I think the guitarist from Maximum the Hormone has used one of these throughout their whole career and it seems to work for him.
Ola, that was a great demonstration of the Warhead. I have one myself, and I never use the red channel; I just put my guitar through an MXR fullbore metal into the clean channel. The amp isn't quite as bad-sounding as a lot of people say, but you are correct when you say "tweaker's nightmare"; it really is a pain in the ass to dial it in. But once it gets there, it's not so bad! You got some good tones out of it, too. Nice job! \m/
I have been curious about this amp. The only one I've heard before was modified by an amp repair guy, and I remember being blown away by it. Now I know why he did it.
I have this video playing in my living room, and your guitar tone always makes me start a pit. You classic, Ola!!! \m/ Honest words, you are a killer and sick musician, Bro. I love everything you do. You are the reason why I love metal so much, and you have helped me through a hell of alot. It's an honour to be following you, Ola!!
haha, classic. remember the video where guitar dude pulls his bigscreen off the table with the deadly guitar cord? The massive crunch from the factory chart sounds like his sound. the rest not so much (to me anyways)
Thanks Ola, this mirrors the WTF experience I had with the amp back in the day. I wasn't crazy, it really did sound horrible, and I similarly tried it in the shop with a signature Washburn.
It’s cool to see someone with a good ear for tone such as yourself be able to get to a decent sound after using garbage “recommended settings” on an okay amp
Se escuchan demasiado brutal esas ritmicas. Yo con una equipación así como esa sería supremanente feliz, aunque ya me habrían botado de mi casa, de la cuadra... En fin, saludos desde Caracas, Venezuela. R.I.P. Dimebag & Vinnie.
Hey Ola , you do all these awesome videos on all the Greatest guitarists ever , I've been really getting into some old Savatage stuff and I think Criss Olivas tone was so one of a kind, idk why he isnt talked more about , Island of sirens ? Hall of mountain King ? Common man do a Savatage tone !!!!!
I think this problem is only with the 2nd release versions not the USA builds (power switch on back) that came out first. Mine if dialed in right (which takes patience to achieve) sounds spot on with dimes tone.
Hi, Ola! I'm probably the first guy to ask it, but what about a video showing how to achieve Dime's tone with pedal boards like Fractal, Helix and others? It would be way awesome! Thanks, man!
This amp was produced in Randalls "Washburn International" era...for some reason these shit the bed compared to the RG150 or X2...and Cyclones sound similar, but way better...and they're the same amp for the most part...I think they added extra diodes to this, and that's causing that fuzzy type of drive...Okay, try cutting the bass on the channel EQ, and boosting it back with the 9 band EQ...another thing to remember, the Clean/Gain EQs are Active EQs...
Needs the FURMAN PQ4. That stomp eq is not going to be able to cut out the mud. Those 33 pedals are going for 600 bux on the used market so that's a bit of a stretch for folks. But you can find these heads and the PQ4 used for a decent price.
Your settings sounded the best and closest to his tone - I would be pretty sad to get that amp and those regular settings and it sounded like that, haha. Especially for a Randall.. they always kick ass. The 2nd setting didn't sound too bad after you added the pedals and turned up the mids a bit -. I imagine without the pedals you saved our ears turning that moosh down - mustve been worse in the room.. it was so washed out.. Was cool how you turned something not so use-able into something very use-able easily.
Hey Ola, it would be good to have more explain / tips / tutos for mixing instrument or mastering or others. RUclips misses explanation for mixing death metal. PS : I love your personality
Ola! You should do a video on getting a dime tone on a helix LT or fractal ax8. I’m about to get a helix and would love to have dimes tone as a snapshot for anytime I wanna get into some dime grooves. Thanks!

Ola Englund Boner food!
I hope that my Warhead will sound close to Yours, I have mine for 2 years and I cannot get a good sound out of it. I will try with EQ and TS now.
What's up, where did you get your washburn guitar.
I came fast as a fart.

Thank you for the video, guitar PewDiePie.
How's it going bros? Welcome back to 👏Amp 👏Review

That "massive crunch" sounded like the amp is dying a slow death...
6:24 Randall Warhead: Manufactured by Line 6.
lmfao
Fuck yeah dude hahahaah
More like behringer.
Actually it's brought to you by Big Muff.
you wouldn't believe how many of those just lay around in pawn shops until the end of time.
It totally sounds like Pantera! The tone has been nailed 100%! Man I wish you could record an album that would sound like Pantera
Dime not only used a 4x12 cab but a 2x15 for that massive low end since the 12’s tend to fart out
That was the advertisement from Randall but i dont think Dime even used these things. I think he kept on running the Randall rg100 and century after this.

So glad you finally did the warhead review. Have been looking to get one for years, but not anymore after this review. Cheers.
I had one of the cabs for these back in the day. It honestly made any amp I put behind it sound amazing. After seeing this demo, I'm not sure if it could make the warhead sound amazing.
The horse sound while eq'ing the amp was hilarious. Brilliant work young sweed. Brilliant.
Randall amp tone Without the pedals it sounded like if avenged sevenfold and zz Top had some wierd baby
WAAAAAH
yeah something like that some texan emo ginger kid
Holy shit! I almost spit out my Black Tooth.
No sh**. My exact thoughts. But I thought Zeppelin not zztop. Yours a bit closer. Haha
🇳🇴
I like how honest your review is, esp. considering that you endorse the company that made this amp.
The tone is so spot on
They should rename it to Randall MT-2
Jepfrankie it is like there are a boss pedal secretly inside
Jepfrankie hey hey now the Boss MT-2 is the pedal of the pros. Respect
Except the Metal Zone actually sounds better than those dime "presets" from the manual.
Matt W. The presets are totaly random ^^
LOW, that's a LOW BLOW, Jep, mayn. LOW LOW LOW BLOW.
I do like Boss' metal core pedal, but idk why they called it that.
That moment when 'massive crunch' sounds like Boss MT-2 through $15 PC speakers.
Mic those up for black metal
@@almostliterally593 You have to play them on the bottom of the well as well for massive reverb. 👉😆
I use the boss pedal😅 lol mt2 into a peavy
@@ShawnSlay333 It's good that you don't use MT-2 plugged into a fucking bee hive.
Modern setting sounded exactly like obituary......the end complete. Nothing like dime. R.i.p dime and vinnie . Peace to both of you brothers 🤘🤘🤘
cuzzy bro completely agree
Sounding like obituary is a very good thing.
I think these amps were a prank by Dime
Or a sales gimmick by Randall.
I love mine. Took a bit to find my tone though
the X2 sounds pretty good imo
Cope
It's fuzzy.
Sounds pretty good with the pedals. I think the guitarist from Maximum the Hormone has used one of these throughout their whole career and it seems to work for him.

This amp sounds like kyuss plays pantera
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
It makes sense
Reminds me of early Obituary
Dammit someone beat me to it lol. Was about to say Ola should play in a stoner band
I haven't listened to Kyuss in forever
To quote the opening of green machine: "i've got a *WAR* inside my *HEAD*" ....HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
The first 5 seconds are absolute brilliant
I've been waiting for this vid for ever!!
The lack of burping disturbs me

This is by far the coolest !
I have been curious about this amp. The only one I've heard before was modified by an amp repair guy, and I remember being blown away by it. Now I know why he did it.
Favourite episode so far. Really interesting.
The tone at the start of the video is really good.
Great stuff and cover, I love that album!
Hey Ola, without the pedals in front you just dicovered the Obituary - Slowly we Whrot Sound! Congratulations man!
Ola please keep doing more dimebag & Randall amp demo vids for one you do a killer job with them and two I think dime would be proud 🤘
Very nice tone. Love it!

Not really into the kind of metal you produce, but MAN are your videos fun to watch. Subscribed!
"You have to be really careful"
**ALL THE GAIN**
Dime scooped the normal eq and boosted mids on graphic. He stated that when he used Warhead he pretty much pluged straight into it
cool, i like those vids where you seems to visit a friend and see him playing his gear , speaking and sharing tips etc... very cool
haha, classic. remember the video where guitar dude pulls his bigscreen off the table with the deadly guitar cord?
The massive crunch from the factory chart sounds like his sound. the rest not so much (to me anyways)
The massive crunch sounds like dimebag....if you were listening to him play at a stage a couple blocks away
play studio cemetary gates. the factory massive crunch sounds close to that to me on my system. slightly different eq but they nailed the top end
the yesterday don't mean shit part in the end was spot on!
Amazing how much better that amp sounds with some mid-range and an OD.
I’m getting my first dimebag guitar this week it’s gonna be ordered Saturday
With a 4x12 and a 2x15 this amp is fantastic. It only works properly with them
Thanks Ola, this mirrors the WTF experience I had with the amp back in the day. I wasn't crazy, it really did sound horrible, and I similarly tried it in the shop with a signature Washburn.
That modern setting sounded like a metal zone that just shit itself.

I had one of these... actually a cool amp once you learned how to dial them in...
@6:23 Jesus man, you just go into that tone with no warning of the horror that's to come?? There could be kids watching, you monster!
dimebag was using randall Titan amp there where hiding in the back of the warhead stack.
sounds like the worst free vst without those pedals :D

I guess thats how By Demons be driven is played, but it sounds so much better when played on the first fret with the last note being open
That is a great amp and it is suppossed to be used with its one designed speakers

RIP Dimebag Darell, the GREATEST🐐😤
The thing with this amp is that the parametric eq acted as the PQ4, and the graphic eq was to give the tone the final shape

Dimebag may not have had the best taste when it came to guitar tone, but he MORE than made for it with pure, raw talent!
This is not his tone. Dime's tone is the best metal tone, aggressively cutting (vulgar/trendkill are his best tones in terms of studio releases).
Well thats your opinion. I think he had amazing tone.
Alot more people would disagree with you than agree
Cool! Can a video about early norwegian black metal tone?
