Love the run over the phone part ....
The phone tipped exactly in a spot to show the heat shield properly 🤣
5:33 Look at all the holes in that weld. I wonder how bad it was before they put the grinder to it.
Good thing it's sleeved. LMAO!
Adventure Escape But “he does really good welds.” Not where I come from he doesn’t.
Yeah. Welding exhaust is tough but if you're literally an exhaust shop I would expect much better. That's just about as bad as if your buddy did it lol.
I noticed that to. If I did a weld like that at 12 years old my father would have wooped my ass!
@@Ballantrae yeah theres really zero excuse for these. I had mine welded on by super grungy looking dudes in a run-down shop and the welds look hella professional.
I bet that 7.3 would sound good with a true dual exhaust
I’m new haha But what’s a true dual exhaust? i.e. does it split somewhere else on the exhaust line?
So i thought about doing this on my old f150, you start at the head end, pipes go from 8 pipes to 2 pipes, then 1 pipe, then cat, then single or dual exit. True dual goes 8-2 then straight out, is supposed to give a rougher sound as american v8s are made with a double hit on one side of the engine to create the distinctive burble... or something like that 😂
@@drmobius8907 Also an H pipe
A true dual exhaust has an exhaust pipe per bank of cylinders. The stock setup on most trucks have a y pipe that merges all the exhaust into one pipe and out the tail pipe. Most dual exhaust systems just y back out of the exhaust and out two tail pipes. There’s a performance and sound benefit to a true dual exhaust with either an h or x mid pipe. A good exhaust system can also increase fuel mileage if done correctly.
@@jeanvi52 Would a two in, two out muffler serve as a good substitute for a H or X pipe ?
He always does really nice welds 😅
it looked like shit!
Best leaking booger welds on that right side I have ever seen.
Andre is such a likable guy.
This truck is really just amazing. Ford should be paying you for showing how nice you can make this truck. #FreeTFL
Why not put the exhaust in front of the rear wheels (Between the cab and rear tires)? That would by pass the spare tire issue all together!
And improve the departure angle.
@@Ballantrae Yeah, but at the expense of possibly givin' up/losin' some break over angle..
@@paulallison6689 I think the exhaust would be at frame level. So no break over angle compromise.
@@JPE_DRAEB Tell that to the owners of the trucks that I've seen with 'em either bent, mangled, smashed, or even ripped completely off...lol
Paul Allison Yep, but in my experience poor break-over comes into play less often than a poor departure angle. I just prefer keeping my exhaust tips round, and not dragging my rear bits off stuff. Long distance off-roading is about compromise.
did they have a 16 year old with a harbor freight welder do those tips ?
Still waiting to see true Dual Exhaust and really nice welds lol Truck looks dam good though
I never got the point of fake duals you might as well just keep it single
Truck looks and sounds great! All it needs now I'm my opinion is a winch up front.
You treat Andre like he’s 2 years old
I love all the TFL gang, but I have to agree with that statement 100%.
Totally worth the $ here! That sound is superb! I know sound is always opinionated to whether one likes it or not.. but man that sound for me is way more impressive than I would expect from a pickup truck exhaust system. These guys should always be your go to for exhaust projects in the future. :)
You need a true dual exhaust set up on that truck... that’s just a dual outlet on factory muffler and that hideous Resonator....
Flowmaster style with resonator delete!!!!! Than an exhaust clip!!!!!!! Love the good work!!!
Try some time trials 0- 60 with sportmode on and off. To turn on sportmode, press traction control button once to turn off, then twice more to enable sportmode. Just wondering if it makes a difference. My 17 power stroke has it and you can tell it does something ,but what I don't know
Next you guy's need to take off that running board and put a off road bumper.
Glad you did that with the exhaust. I was a little worried about the exhaust outlet under the bed at an idle , letting some carbon monoxide seeping into the camper.
When are you putting on the Whipple charger? Please do before and after dyno runs...
How much did the mods effect towing capacity? There isnt a video on RUclips that properly tests this, would love to k ow before and after capacities
At 4:28 the brace above and to the left of the from diff, does it not look torn / cracked at the bottom?
It sure looks that way, I'll check mine tomorow and see what it looks like.
Why didn't you have a true dual exhaust system installed? You have 2 sets of catalytic converters. Why not have 2 mufflers? There is a shop in Dallas that does that to p/u's all the time and the systems look factory.
I definitely dig the sound!
Did you guys have the muffler replaced and if so, what’s the new one?!? Truck is really starting to take shape. Looks great!
Is the truck equipped with a backup camera and how would you remount said camera with the camper onboard?
Side dual exhausts look badass!
That truck ilks great, good job guys.
Out of curiosity, do you have a CO detector inside the camper? If you don't, you should! If you ever need to be in the camper with the motor running, the exhaust could be a problem.
Sounds good; however, you left a bunch of stock exhaust. If you were doing “dual” exhaust, you should have put true dual exhaust on it. If you were not doin “true dual” exhaust, you could have stuck with a single exit and it would have given you more routing options. Glad to hear you are planning to get the speedometer calibrated to reflect the different tire size.
Thumbs up on that dual exhaust,..nice!
That truck sounds great! What muffler is on the F-250? On my 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71, the factory exhaust melted the plastic dust boot on the OEM shock.
You can put a f450 trailer hitch on. There are 3 trailer hitches that go on the super duty. (From the factory)
Gents, I’m enjoying these updates and critiquing them with the TFL community. I’m interested to know how much the lift, and camper mods, have altered the rig’s CoG and roll-over angle. I reckon this is important information for anyone inspired to replicate ‘the Beast’. Love your work. Cheers from Downunder, Phil
Funny how Roman hates Ford now but loves the Ford they have
People only hate on ford cuz they jealous
Side exit duals on a truck look badass and is better for off roading than rear exit.
So you removed the one part of the OEM exhaust that was mandrel bent and routed nicely only to have a overly complicated dual system with kinked bends and routed close to expensive shocks and spare tire?
Mmm, the bottom mounts on the rear shocks look very vulnerable for such a leviathan of a 4WD overlander. 🤞🏼for your travels.
It fell at the right spot. 💪🏽
Tks really like this rig...as I’m a Tundra guy that’s saying a lot. Kool Mods
Sorry for chiming in here but I doesn't appear to be a "true" dual exhaust. Don't get me wrong it sounds great but what I see is two into one and back into dual rear exit exhaust pipes. Correct me if I am mistaken. Like your work!
You are correct, it's a 2-1-2. I was wondering about full duals but the room under the truck looks to be pretty tight.
I don't even understand all of that effort to have it dump on the rear quarters, it would have been much easier to have an axle dump or dump right between the cab and bed
@@Blue_Flame_Raptor I thought the same thing myself. Drone could be a issue though.
@@paulbenderavich3833 with the right setup it shouldn't be bad at all.
@@Blue_Flame_Raptor Resonators, lol
What is the color of your F250? I’m looking at ordering Oxford White or Iconic Silver.
Thank you!! 😎
Looks like project Gunsmoke's pipes to me. Really good looking system. Thanks for the content.
Alright TFL I have a serious question for you, what would you put on the 2.7 ecoboost for exhaust that wouldn’t sound terrible??
I would love to upgrade mine but am having a hard time finding anything that pairs well with the 2.7
Probably will miss you in Telluride area, have a Toyota group coming up from Texas on August 22nd for a week.
Soooooo, IDK why a 7.3 is such a monster. My 2002 GMC had an 8.1 with an Alison behind it, 4x4. That was a monster!
Well that 8.1 was a turd, an extinct turd.
Still a single pipe split exit, I was hoping to see two pipes coming down from the engine and on out the back.
True duals aren't beneficial for power on most engines, and in most cases, running a Y pipe, X pipe, or X muffler is actually better for exhaust flow.
@@daniels2761 On this normally asperated engine where bigger is better in terms of scavenging the cylinders better .
I would agree on the x or y pipe cross over but tough to do on one sided exhaust run...
BUT without increasing the the main single pipe diameter by at least 1.5 times (without losing torque) just down stream of the factory Y is simply splitting the nice exhaust noise out to each side of the truck.
Daniel S. not true. Dyno testing with no balance pipe, H pipe or X-pipe gave next to no change to HP. If anything X-pipe gave 1HP more @ 6000 RPM. Hardly beneficial. However what does change is exhaust note. No balance pipe sound old school tough, H pipe blends exhaust pules which gives smoother guttural sound, whilst X-pipe just smashes exhaust pulses into each other ruining exhaust pules resulting in raspy crackling sounds as if you had V6 under hood.
Kill the phone right when we are going to see the exhaust. Lol
Looks much better with the dual tops out the back and sounds better as well. Would have been nice to dyno before and after the exhaust change to see if you gained anything in hp or maybe even lost any hp.
I'd have done a true dual system with tailpipes in front of the rear tires. Get's rid of that extra back pressure going over the top of the axle.
And keeps it away from the tires and shocks.
I wish I had y'all's job! Nice work and can't wait to see videos of the trip!
Of.course.a custom exhaust belongs on a Godzilla. Thanks!
You may need to do another sound clip of the exhaust. Those industrial AC units in the background drowns out most of the exhaust sound.
Does the shop do mandrel bent. exhaust in stainless? Hopefully u got s/s tubing and tips, being in CO, lol.
That color is really growing on me👍 lets see power increase from that tune
The phone tip over was perfectly timed to shift the view vertical to the exhaust lol.
when you come north on your trip let's run kelly flats "heart attack hill!!!"
When are they doing the no pavement needed videos ?
We will start filming the series in about 2 weeks, so those videos are coming soon.
What brand and size tires did you guys get? I just ordered a 4wheel camper as well
Still waiting on the Silverado Trailboss upgrades!
Sounds great!
IMO dual exhaust is for kids. The tips get covered in mud (especially with side exit) and smashed on things (especially rear exit). Single dumped at a 45 beneath the trailer hitch keeps it a lot more protected. Also, you're leaving power on the table with the Flowmaster.
🙄😒
🙄😒
Looks like the 90s all over.
I’d love having a job like this.
How many leaf springs that thing have ? 8 10 holy
I love that truck. From the looks. But are the seats as uncomfortable as a 2014? Those seats will destroy your spine in a 2014.
I have a 2019 f250 XLT 4x4 diesel and the seats wear you down when off pavement. They do okay on long highway trips. Not sure if 2020 saw a seat upgrade on XLT.
The seats in the 2011+ F250 are better than the Ram 1500 seats by a mile.
How much money has been spent on the truck? It seems very nice, but why choose the gas over a diesel?
Black Bear Pass! No way that giant thing could make those switchbacks into town.
Certainly not! I just did Black Bear 2 weeks ago in my Tacoma, alone, no one else on the trail, no spotter anywhere, in the rain and sleet at the steps. That monster hulking Ford thing would have slide off the mountain!
I'm interested in that sweet Amanti. I lost mine in the May 22 2011 joplin mo tornado. I miss that car.
Yeah I love me some FWD cars
Sounds nice fellas
What happened to the exhaust tips? I’ve seen chrome, black, and polished stainless steel. Those looked like raw pipe.
so awesome!! dual split!!!
I’m excited for the Colorado trip! Do you still plan in doing the cross country trip at a later date?
Cant believe the rust after less than a year.
How big is the phone that the truck couldn’t clear it?
I think the lower shock support hit it. Which reduces the REAL ground clearance to like 6 inches!
Does this have the 6.2?
Nope, it's that new 7.3 "Godzilla" gasser.
When does no pavement needed start?
Broken speedometer... brand new truck... Found on road Dead. Can't wait for you guys to get the new Toyota when the new engine comes out!!
Andre, what are you doing with your hands?
The question should be how much more power did it add
Why is this on TFL now and not TFL Truck?
screen saver? hahaha this guy is oldschool hahaha only a little percent of viewers are going to feel related haha
Alot of rust under that truck already
I agree for a new truck that rear diff had random spots already. Yikes.
Bad Ass!! Enough said!!
Personally I'm not a fan of loud exhausts in camping rigs. Fine it sounds cool. But nothing gives you the stink eye from fellow campers as when you start your rig in the morning or evening and you've disturbed they're peace. I actually have kept mine stock because of that. I could give a rats ass about how it sounds when I'm in the middle of the bush with the windows down trying to soak in the experince of getting out there.
Purrs like a kitten.
When the phone got hit, it gave a better angle/shot till it fell.
As you get more expensive and obscure with this build, it seems less desirable. It's a camper, a very expensive camper with a lot of additions that don't really seem to add enough to the accessible camping experience.
It will be interesting to see if you find many otherwise inaccessible places that this package can access.
Are they worth $30 k in mods for the few days per year you are at these otherwise inaccessible stops?
Roman 🤦♂️ Andre 😆
Don't do another exhaust video until you put headers and an X pipe true dual exhaust system on it.
The 7.3 is not likely to benefit at all from most headers and if anything they would be detrimental to low end torque. Also, it is not a true dual exhaust if it has an x-pipe. I would rather have x-pipe than true dual for scavenging.
David . Xpipes are shit on V8. Do thing but create rasp and crackle like V6
Action,
fewer farkles,
get on with the show,
Get Busy...
I wonder if y’all bought the Trail Boss just to keep GM guys quite, because there has yet to be a video about mods on it. Or is it just that good nothing needs to be done to it like the soda can F250?
ruclips.net/video/3hN0jzJZd3g/видео.html
CoryBrothers the addition of a camper isn’t a mod.
It so easily could be true dual now...
There is a reason that they usually dump out on the passenger side. That is so you don't have to worry about traversing the tight space between the shock and the spare tire. I would have dumped duals out the passenger side. I am sorry but that weld you showed was an ugly mess. I hope he at least used a high grade stainless or you will have a rusted out mess in a few years. Oh.....that's right you guys only keep them for one year.
Yeah I would of laid the phone flat on the ground looking up to get a better angle. Standing up really didn't show anything
Exhaust video with 90% OEM exhaust.....
Literally lol.
That’s not a Tremor, that’s an XLT.
A tune? Really? Unless its improving your fuel economy why bother? That truck with that light camper is going to have way more HP than you'll ever need 4x4ing. 😅
Because 'Merica
That is not a light camper.
This truck needs to be available in the Russian market
5:34 Welds are NOT great! Stevie Wonder does better welds than that!
Good lord my grandmother knows more than these people.
For the love of god cut the mufflers off of that thing and straight pipe it.
Sorry, but between the overpriced camper and the truck mods , I just see a lot of wasted money.
Sorry...but it must really suck to live your life through the OCD prism of measuring every purchase against your own perception of value.
No,, it's actually pretty nice , I have had money and NOT had money ,, so it gives me perspective,, if you have it and want to waste it , that's your business,, MY money looks better in my pocket than going down the toilet ! 😎
@@mauricehess537
Your perspective is irrelevant to anyone else's whenever "wasting money" is the topic among different people.
You may not be able to justify spending money on such things, but theyre hardly "a waste of money".
BTW, your money does you no good in your pocket. If you've got the money or need to save, if you want something and it makes you happy there's always a great value in that. You could be gone tomorrow.
You have your opinion "Phatty" and I have mine ,,, Gas Bless America 😁
Nope. Can't understand or deal with Andre. laters
