He never said it was the retail. There’s Rolex watches that go 10 times over retail. The Patek Tiffany watch retailed at £55,000, it went on the resale market to as high as £5 million. Just because a watch retails at a certain price doesn’t mean you go out and buy it at that price. There’s a limited stock and once that stock is gone and it’s a popular well liked piece, the price goes up to as high as people are willing to pay!
