    routines and rituals are so vital to entering "the zone" and increasing the probability of being in a flow state. I tell athletes your routines and rituals are a door that you open and walk through and your best performance is on the other side of the door. Strength athletes and strongman competitions are chock full of pre-performance rituals. A classic ritual can be seen in the video of Ronnie Coleman as he prepares to squat 800lbs.

    A slow jog around the field alone. Someone tags along I’m doing a second lap after a stretch.
    In my youth I loved to listen to Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Song is great for some zen moments followed by the pump up.

    Taking a number 2 is crazy 🤣, but i agree routines before a game a very important, for me i try to do cool dribbles/take curling shots with a football because it looks satisfying to me and it calms me down, its simple things that have the biggest impact on our mental status. "getting is the zone" is that best way to put it. Great video 👍

    Hi, great video i just wanted to ask something regarding visualization. In your video about visualization you talk about engaging senses. One of them being “feel/hear the atmosphere or crowd”. Could i possibly play audio of the crowd whether its against me or with me depending on what i am visualizing? So that it helps me engage more.

    in my sport, there are multiple matches and each time I cannot follow the same routine, how can I add some performance routines just before the match.
