i've always liked how while it may just be coincidence, the music that plays before each refight kinda fits with their game. the first part is enker's, which sounds like the original, given that it was the first game. the second part is quint's, which sound a little more experimental and swingy, since MM2 GB had a different team. the third part is punk's, which is well, punky. heavy hitting and rock-filled. the fourth part is ballade's, which sounds much more different, and dangerous, given that MM4 GB was the most unique of them. the fifth part being the intermission before the stardroid refight being desolate fits because you've basically emptied out wily's greatest defenses in the star. all the MM killers are gone, and now it's just you, and a couple of screens before you face wily's last lines of defense.
The best Mega Man Game Boy game finally gets an enhanced soundtrack! You did an excellent job! I’ve been anxious to hear Mercury’s theme, and I’m not disappointed!
I believe it feels more climatic than the MM1 remade. I don't get why RushJet1 isn't remaking Megaman 5 and 6 for NES along with Megaman IV for Game Boy yet?
@@willjace789 Because 5 has Wave Man's stage, the worst thing in that game, 6 is after 5 and I assume he's doing those in order, and IV has Crystal Man's stage, followed by a Wily boss and then FOUR IMPOSSIBLY STUPID LEVELS AAAAA Otherwise no clue aside from time and such

After three thousand years, our god has graced us with this magnificent gift. Fuckin’ amazing work Rush, definitely worth the long wait and I have no doubts you’ll continue making quality music in the future.
This was a pretty last-minute choice too. I was frustrated that there was nowhere that song plays for its entirety, but didn't know where to put it in, then I realized that it plays just before that boss in the normal game for about 5 seconds and thought "we don't need to hear the normal boss theme a third time"
That second stage select theme... I used to sleep to that loop back in the 90's with those old shitty, fuzzy headphones every night for about 3 months. Thanks for doing this.
How to get someone to spend an hour and twenty minutes in awe. All of the remixes amaze. When I first heard Mercury's remix, I thought this was an excellent remix...but each one afterward kept getting better and better. But when I heard Pluto's theme, I teared up at the intro. I legitimately stopped paying attention to the gameplay and started marking out. There are so many small touches that you put to this soundtrack that made it amazing. Thank you. Thank you so much for this!
I don't like this game very much for four reasons: 1)50% of the levels are freaking mazes (just like Mega Man IV(not for nes!)) 2)Levels are very hard and long 3)It breaks the formula of the Mega Man gameboy games. 4)The final boss is extremely hard. I mean, he has big powerful laser and attack that you can't dodge. No wonder why everyone likes him.
@@mrbabbles5989 Nothing about the levels indicate that they're mazes, unless you think extra paths with bonus goodies that inevitably lead back to the beaten path counts as mazes (which they don't.) And I genuinely don't see how this breaks the formula of the Mega Man Game Boy games, you still fight four bosses, fight a miniboss, fight four more bosses, castle.
@@MizunoKetsuban Normally they take four robot masters from the NES game and four from the next one. But now they take names of planets for some reason.
They were trying something new there. Also yeah the levels are pretty straightforward, with some alternate paths later on (like Mega Man 10). Even MM6 had some alternate paths, like in Yamato Man's stage.
@@mrbabbles5989 Just gonna chip in with a couple of things: the levels aren't that long, nor are they really that hard. Sure, Wily Star can be a pain in the ass to slog through sometimes, but the other levels aren't as hard or maze-like as you make them out to be. If anything, the bosses give more of a run for your money than the stages. It's okay if you don't like MMV, you're entitled to your opinion. However, if you want to go on about long, unfair treks that break your confidence as a player down into a fine powder, MM&B is down the block. Trust me, King 2 will make you break your Game Boy Advance much more easily than Sunstar will, let alone anything in MMV. Again, that's just me; you do you, dude.

I always looked at this Mega Man game as one of the most underrated Mega Man game there is & its awesome to see someone talk about the game or in this Videos case, Re-doing the Soundtrack... I only wish that the Stardroids Appeared in Mega Man fan-made games like Mega Man Maker & Mega Man Deathmatch, Because I don't think they don't get not nearly enough Notoriety... There's an emulator that does it too. It's on the GBA "Mega Man collection" cartridge but this is totally a reprogrammed cartridge with an on-board emulator with MM I-V and MMXtreme 1+2. Has some issues when ported to Nintendo DS which is not at all uncommon for emulation.
I’ve been waiting for your next Cover Playthrough since MMIIIGB! I hope that you’ll cover the other Game Boy games & the remaining numbered games in the future!
Awesome stuff as always. My favorite is the 'boss rush' variant of the Wily Star track- it reminds me of your work in Creepy Castle's OST in the best of ways!
Suggestion to make 53:44-1:00:02 count as one song like how you did Wily stage 2 in MM1 or the boss rush in MM3, because when I listen to it on Bandcamp and get to this part, I find myself fast-forwarding when each loops unlike all the other songs in the album.
DUDE, NICE! MMV is my favorite game from the World series, if not from the Megaman series in general. It has its ups and downs, and one of them is not really memorable soundtrack (for me, the stage songs are all kinda samey, with the same exact feeling, ending up being not memorable enough, if not at all), along with mostly unmemorable stages. While the stages couldn't be fixed anyway, the covers are probably one of your best so far. Not sure if the "samey stage songs" issue was the reason for you but you really did make the stages feel like actually standalone songs with a vibe of their own! That's what stands out the most in this album. I ADORE NEPTUNE'S THEME! So chill (which is also a really nice twist for a "meh" theme imo), kinda fits for a water-themed robot (ironically, Neptune always looks like he's ready to beat your sorry ass to the ground). the other themes are top-notch too, you did a very good job overall.
